The very first full thrust Falcon 9 rocket launched today by SpaceX from Cape Canaveral in Florida at 00:29 UTC, December 22nd 2015, carrying 11 Orbcomm Generation 2 satellites into orbit.
This was the return to flight mission for SpaceX since the first stage failure in June of this year which left an unmanned Dragon capsule in the Atlantic ocean, it was also the very first attempt at landing the first stage on land. The stage successfully reignited and then softly touched down at the newly renovated Launch Complex 13, now called Landing Zone 1 of Cape Canaveral around 10 minutes into flight.

The Israel Missile Defense Organization (IMDO) of the Directorate of Defense Research and Development (DDR&D;) and the U.S. Missile Defense Agency (MDA) successfully completed a series of tests of the David's Sling Weapon System.
David's Sling (Hebrew: קלע דוד), also sometimes called Magic Wand (Hebrew: שרביט קסמים) is jointly developed by the Israeli defense contractor Rafael Advanced Defense Systems and the American defense contractor Raytheon. It is designed to intercept medium- to long-range rockets and cruise missiles, fired at ranges from 40 km (24.85 miles) to 300 km (186.41 miles).
This test series, designated David's Sling Test-4 (DST-4), was the fourth series of tests of the David's Sling Weapon System and the final milestone before declaring delivery of an operational system.

This is a flight report of a KLM flight from Amsterdam to Abu Dhabi, operated by a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner!
I was in World Business Class seat 2A. The Dreamliner is new to the KLM fleet, and the seats in Business Class are also new, and feature for the first time all-aisle access (1-2-1) in a reverse herringbone configuration.

An aerostat is a system that remains aloft primarily through the use of buoyancy to give an aircraft that has the same overall density as air. Aerostats include free balloons, airships, and moored balloons. An aerostat's main structural component is its envelope, a lightweight skin containing a lifting gas to provide buoyancy, to which other components are attached.

A passenger onboard the Paris-bound flight AF463 from Mauritius found a suspicious device in the bathroom mid flight. A Kenyan official told the Guardian that the box looked like a cardboard box with a stopwatch taped onto it. The device is thought to have been planted during the flight, Reuters reported.
Crew members were immediately alerted and the Boeing-777 was diverted to the nearest airport in Mombasa. The plane landed at the airport before 1 a.m. on Sunday and those on board were evacuated via the plane's emergency slides.
According to Reuters, bomb experts from the Navy and Directorate of Criminal Investigations were called in, but officials found the bomb to be a hoax.
Six passengers are being questioned about the fake explosive while the rest of the passengers departed from Mombasa later that day.
This is the third Air France plane to be diverted in recent weeks. The company has been the target of four bomb threats in the past 15 days — three of which were directed at flights in the U.S.

Bi-plane pilot Tracey Curtis-Taylor is attempting to become only the second woman to fly single-handedly from the UK to Australia - something not achieved since Amy Johnson's famous flight of 1930. She is flying an aircraft with an open cockpit and only using instruments that were available at the time, and hopes to arrive in Australia in early January.
The BBC's Mariko Oi caught up with her in Singapore.

We push back and taxi to the runway making a beautiful departure out over New York. We head towards Toronto in Canada, before the clouds clear and we are treated to a beautiful view of the United States for the remainder of the flight. We fly across Lake Erie and Michigan, crossing Lake Michigan towards Wisconsin. We then fly over Iowa, Nebraska, Colorado with a beautiful view of the entire midwest, crossing overhead Denver. We then head down across Utah and Nevada getting a fantastic view of the Rockies and then the Grand Canyon, and Las Vegas. We then cross the San Bernadino Mountains into the Los Angeles area, making a beautiful approach over the city on a beautiful clear morning. Our viewing pleasure is extended as we make a go-around, before flying over the bay and getting a fantastic flight around Los Angeles for our second approach.

Air India Flight 182 was an Air India flight operating on the Montreal, Canada–London, UK –Delhi, India route. On 23 June 1985, this Boeing 747-237B (c/n 21473/330, registration VT-EFO) was destroyed by a bomb at an altitude of 31,000 feet (9,400 m). It crashed into the Atlantic Ocean while in Irish airspace. It was the first bombing of a 747 jumbo jet. A total of 329 people were killed, including 268 Canadian citizens, 27 Britons, and 24 Indians.[1] The majority of the victims were Canadian citizens of Indian ancestry. The incident was the largest mass murder in Canadian history. It was deadliest terrorist attack involving an airplane till 9/11 . It is also the deadliest aircraft bombing. [2] The bombing of Air India 182 occurred at the same time as the Narita Airport bombing. Investigators believe that the two plots were linked, and that the group responsible was aiming for a double bombing. However, the bomb at Narita exploded before it could be loaded onto the plane.
Canadian law enforcement determined that the main suspects in the bombing were members of the Sikh militant group Babbar Khalsa. The attack is thought to have been a retaliation against India for the operation carried out by the Indian Army Operation Blue Star to flush out several hundred Sikh Militants who were within the premises of the Golden temple and the surrounding structures ordered by the Indian government, headed by Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. Though a handful of members were arrested and tried, Inderjit Singh Reyat, a Canadian national, remains the only person legally convicted of involvement in the bombing. Singh pleaded guilty in 2003 to manslaughter. He was sentenced to 15 years in prison for building the bombs that exploded aboard Flight 182 and at Narita.[3]
The subsequent investigation and prosecution lasted almost twenty years and was the most expensive trial in Canadian history, costing nearly CAD $130 million.
The Governor General-in-Council in 2006 appointed the former Supreme Court Justice John Major to conduct a commission of inquiry. His report was completed and released on 17 June 2010. It concluded that a "cascading series of errors" by the government of Canada, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), and the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) had allowed the terrorist attack to take place.[4]

Air India Flight 182 was an Air India flight operating on the Montreal, Canada–London, UK –Delhi, India route. On 23 June 1985, this Boeing 747-237B (c/n 21473/330, registration VT-EFO) was destroyed by a bomb at an altitude of 31,000 feet (9,400 m). It crashed into the Atlantic Ocean while in Irish airspace. It was the first bombing of a 747 jumbo jet. A total of 329 people were killed, including 268 Canadian citizens, 27 Britons, and 24 Indians.[1] The majority of the victims were Canadian citizens of Indian ancestry. The incident was the largest mass murder in Canadian history. It was deadliest terrorist attack involving an airplane till 9/11 . It is also the deadliest aircraft bombing. [2] The bombing of Air India 182 occurred at the same time as the Narita Airport bombing. Investigators believe that the two plots were linked, and that the group responsible was aiming for a double bombing. However, the bomb at Narita exploded before it could be loaded onto the plane.
Canadian law enforcement determined that the main suspects in the bombing were members of the Sikh militant group Babbar Khalsa. The attack is thought to have been a retaliation against India for the operation carried out by the Indian Army Operation Blue Star to flush out several hundred Sikh Militants who were within the premises of the Golden temple and the surrounding structures ordered by the Indian government, headed by Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. Though a handful of members were arrested and tried, Inderjit Singh Reyat, a Canadian national, remains the only person legally convicted of involvement in the bombing. Singh pleaded guilty in 2003 to manslaughter. He was sentenced to 15 years in prison for building the bombs that exploded aboard Flight 182 and at Narita.[3]
The subsequent investigation and prosecution lasted almost twenty years and was the most expensive trial in Canadian history, costing nearly CAD $130 million.
The Governor General-in-Council in 2006 appointed the former Supreme Court Justice John Major to conduct a commission of inquiry. His report was completed and released on 17 June 2010. It concluded that a "cascading series of errors" by the government of Canada, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), and the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) had allowed the terrorist attack to take place.[4]
