ABOUT CELEBRATEMERCY
CelebrateMercy, founded in 2010 by Tarek El-Messidi, is a non-profit organization that aims to instill a deeper understanding of the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) among Muslims and friends of other faiths, by dispelling stereotypes and common misconceptions about him. This is achieved through videos shown on global interactive live webcasts of prominent scholars and performers discussing his character and life, as can be seen on this trailer.
CelebrateMercy also mobilizes Muslims to embody Prophetic character. In September 2011, when some Muslims engaged in violent protests against the offensive YouTube video, CelebrateMercy asked Muslims to "respond to evil with a good deed" by sending condolences to the family of slain Ambassador Chris Stevens. This "MercyMail" campaign went viral with over 7,700 condolence letters from 115 countries, receiving coverage on BBC, CNN, and The Huffington Post. This interview with Chris Stevens' sister recently appeared on the front page of CNN.com: www.bit.ly/cnnCM.

Islam’s third holiest site is under attack. Israeli settlers and troops attacking Palestinains, after a leading Israeli official visited the mosque, both controversial, with the knowledge that this would anger Palestinians. Israel has in effect set the rules on when Palestinians can play. This is while Israelis and tourists can go there at any time they want. The Al Aqsa Mosque, east Jerusalem al-quds, and Israel’s judaization of it: The subject of this edition of the debate.

History of Al Aqsa Mosque :
Umar ibn Al-Khatab and the Muslims, after securing Jerusalem, again established Masjid Al-Aqsa as a holy place of worship. Both the Christians and the Jews were pleased with the arrival of Umar and the Muslims, and with the just rule under the Islamic State.
In the eleventh century, the European Christians in the crusades, tortured the Jews and the Muslims. They burned the Jews in the their Temples and they burned the Muslims in Masjid Al-Aqsa. The European Christians even tortured the Arab Christians and destroyed their churches. The Jews fled to Indulis (Spain), to receive protection under Islamic rule or a Muslim society. In 1189 A.D., the leader of the Muslim army, Salah Aldeen Al-Ayobi expelled the European Christians from Jerusalem, and returned Jerusalem to Islamic rule. The Christian, Jews, and Muslims lived in harmony under Islamic rule.
In 1948, with the help of the western powers, the Jews were able to fulfill the promise of the British foreign minister, Bill Ford. This promise was made in 1917 regarding the Jews' return to the holy land, Palestine. In the time of Moses (PBUH), when ordered by Allah (God) to return to Palestine, the Israelites disobeyed the will of Allah (God). Once the Jews again controlled Jerusalem, they expelled and tortured the natives of Palestine from their land, and the area returned to a state of unrest (Haggie 2 Verse 7-9).
Conclusion
First - all the children of Israel left Jerusalem in the time of Jacob by their own will.
Second - they were unwilling to support Moses (PBUH) and return to the holy land for the sake of Allah (God).
Third - King Je-hoia-chin's tunnel has no religious significance to the Jews, it is merely a historical site. The Israelis continued excavation of the tunnel, may result in damage to Masjid Al-Aqsa.
Fourth - the Israelites abandoned Beteyel in 614 A.D., while under Persean rule.
Fifth - they took Palestine by force and aggression in 1948, and subsequently tortured many Palestinians in the process.
Finally - the Jews do not appreciate all the just treatment that they received from the Muslims throughout history, and as we see today, the Israelis have little concern for the Muslim people, their places of worship, and their property.

The Al Aqsa Mosque makes a terrible danger - Jerusalem
Masjid Al Aqsa is the name of the whole area enclosed by the 4 walls surrounding the two Masajid of Masjid-e-Qibly and Qubbat-As-Sakhrah (Dome of the Rock).

Masjid Al Aqsa is the name of the whole area enclosed by the 4 walls surrounding the two Masajid of Masjid-e-Qibly and Qubbat-As-Sakhrah (Dome of the Rock).
Both Masajid are in the compound of Masjid Al Aqsa which is the size of 13 football pitches (35 acres). Masjid-e-Qibly is the Masjid where the 5 daily Salaah is led.
In the compound there are 200 #monuments including Masjid-e-Qibly and #Qubbat-As-Sakhrah (#Dome of the #Rock), other prayer halls, schools, fountains and libraries.
The reward of praying anywhere in the compound of Masjid Al Aqsa is increased 500 times more than any (Masjid) elsewhere.
Abu Darda (ra) relates that the Prophet (Peace be upon him) said, "A prayer in Makkah (Ka'bah) is worth 100,000 times (reward), a prayer in my Masjid (Madinah) is worth 1,000 times and a prayer in Al-Aqsa Sanctuary is worth 500 times more reward than anywhere else".
For Muslims, it holds a very important place in our heart. It is the 3rd most holy site in Islam. It is the location that the Prophetṣallallāhu 'alayhi wa sallam (peace and blessings of Allāh be upon him) was transported to during the journey of Israa and Miraaj. It was the scene for the most extraordinary gathering in the history of mankind – when every Prophet that ever lived were gathered together for a congregational prayer behind Prophet Muhammadṣallallāhu 'alayhi wa sallam (peace and blessings of Allāh be upon him).
There are multiple mosques on the site that we know as masjid Al Aqsa. We think of masjid Al-Aqsa as the building at the southernmost corner of the Mosque. In actual fact, that is the Qibly mosque – so called because it is the closest to the Qibla. The whole mount is masjid Al Aqsa and is sometimes referred to the Haram Al-Sharif to prevent confusion. But there are other mosques present on the site which are usually connected to historical incidents e.g. the Buraq masjid, the Marwani masjid and more.
In 1967, Jerusalem left Muslim hands for the 3rd time and came under the control of Israel. The conquering Israeli soldiers flew their flag from the dome. The Israeli leadership realised that overt control of masjid Al-Aqsa would serve as a constant provocation to the Muslim world. They used the fig leaf of a Waqf in order to placate the Muslims into complacency.
In 1969, an Australian Zionist set fire to the mimbar of Nuruddin and the Qibly mosque itself. The resulting inferno enveloped the entire Qibly mosque. The Muslim world awoke to scenes from the worst of nightmares. Desperate palestinians tried to put out the flames in anyway they could. An entire Ummah hung their head in shame.
Since then, the mosque has been rebuilt and refurbished, but the assaults against the 3rd holiest site in Islam continue to this day. Excavations undermining the foundations of the entire Mosque, unauthorised visits, and daily threats to rebuild the old temple are all currently under way. Masjid Al-Aqsa still waits.

Palestinians and Israeli forces clashed at Jerusalem's Al-Aqsa Mosque for a third straight day, as Israeli forces were seen on the roof of the holy site. Al Jazeera Arabic cameramen captured this footage.
Suleiman Ahmad, the president of Jerusalem's Affairs Department, who is currently at the scene, told Al Jazeera that at least 17 Palestinians were injured in the clashes early on Tuesday.
"They have placed snipers on the rooftops and are using rubber bullets," Suleiman said.
The site of the mosque is revered by Jews and Muslims and is a frequent flashpoint of violence.

Israeli government leaders have repeatedly said they do not want changes at the al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem.
But the government is also accused of funding groups advocating major changes to who can pray at the sacred and sensitive site in Jerusalem.
That is provoking more tension with security forces violently cracking down on Palestinian worshippers.
It is also causing discontent in the occupied territories where Palestinians are unhappy with Israel's action and their own leadership.
So, is all this a recipe for more turmoil?

The Al-Aqsa Mosque have a black dome and it is the second Masjid on earth that was built 40 years after the Ka‚ba in Makkah. Most scholars are of the opinion that Al-Aqsa Mosque was first built by Prophet Adam AS.
Then rebuild by Prophet Ibrahim AS and Prophet Ismail. And later rebuild by Prophet Daud AS but it was Prophet Sulayman AS who finally completed the building. The Al-Aqsa Mosque built by Prophet Sulayman AS was destroyed in 587 BC by Nebuchadnezzar King of Babylon.
The Jews call this same Al-Aqsa Mosque built by Prophet Sulayman AS as their temple. They re-built their temple on them same site in 167 BC but was destroyed in 70 AD and Jews banished from Jerusalem.
The site of Al-Aqsa Mosque remained barren and was used as a rubbish tip for nearly 600 years until the Great Khalifah Umar bin Khattab liberated Jerusalem in 637/8 AD. Khalifah Umar bin Khattab began the foundation of Al-Aqsa Mosque and a timber mosque was built. Umayyad Khalifah, Abd’ al Malik ibn Marwan in 691/2 [72/73 AH] began the construction of Dome of the Rock, today this is the Al-Sakhrah Mosque.
The al Buraq wall or Western Wall where Prophet Muhammad SAW tied his animal the Buraq on the night journey of al Isra is what the Jews call the wailing wall. The Haram area of Al Aqsa has within it the Al-Aqsa Mosque [Black Domed Mosque] and Dome of the Rock [Gold Domed Mosque]
Israel occupied Al-Aqsa Mosque in 1967, the fundamentalist Jews have made 100's of attempts to destroy Al-Aqsa Mosque since then. A fire in 1967 started by their help destroyed the 900 year old Mimbar installed by Slaudeen Ayub, the Great Muslim Hero. Jewish fundamentalist want to blow up and destroy Al-Aqsa Mosque and replace it with a Jewish Temple. Slowly. they been digging under the mosque on pretax of archeological research on their temple mount.

Al-Masjid al-Aqsa (in Jerusalem) was the first of the two qiblahs, and is one of the three mosques to which people may travel for the purpose of worship. And it was said that it was built by Sulaymaan (peace be upon him), as stated in Sunan al-Nasaa’i (693) and classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Nasaa’i. And it was said that it existed before Sulaymaan (peace be upon him) and that Sulaymaan rebuilt it; this is based on the evidence narrated in al-Saheehayn from Abu Dharr (may Allaah be pleased with him) who said: “I said, ‘O Messenger of Allaah, which mosque was built on earth first?’ He said, ‘Al-Masjid al-Haraam [in Makkah].’ I said, ‘Then which?’ He said, ‘Al-Masjid al-Aqsa.’ I said, ‘How much time was there between them?’ He said, ‘Forty years. So wherever you are when the time for prayer comes, pray, for that is the best thing to do.’”

The city is located 70 km (43 mi) inland from Jeddah in a narrow valley at a height of 277 m (909 ft) above sea level. Its resident population in 2012 was roughly 2 million, although visitors more than triple this number every year during the hajj ("pilgrimage") period held in the twelfth Muslim lunar month of Dhu al-Hijjah.
As the birthplace of Muhammad and the site of Muhammad's first revelation of the Quran (specifically, a cave 3 km (2 mi) from Mecca),] Mecca is regarded as the holiest city in the religion of Islam and a pilgrimage to it known as the Hajj is obligatory for all able Muslims. Mecca is home to the Kaaba, by majority description Islam's holiest site, as well as being the direction of Muslim prayer. despite the fact that non-Muslims are prohibited from entering the city.
Medina (/məˈdiːnə/; Arabic: المدينة المنورة, al-Madīnah al-Munawwarah, "the radiant city"; or المدينة, al-Madīnah, "the city"), also transliterated as Madīnah, is a city in the Hejaz, and the capital of the Al Madinah Region of Saudi Arabia. The city contains al-Masjid an-Nabawi ("the Prophet's Mosque"), which is the burial place of the Islamic prophet Muhammad, and is the second-holiest city in Islam after Mecca.
Medina was Prophet Muhammad's destination after his Hijrah from Mecca, and became the capital of a rapidly increasing Muslim Empire, under Prophet Muhammad's leadership, It served as the power base of Islam. Similar to Mecca, non-Muslims are forbidden from entering the sacred core of Medina (but not the entire city) or the city center by the national government.
Al-Aqsa Mosque “the Farthest Mosque”, also known as Al-Aqsa and Bayt al-Muqaddas, is located in the Old City of Jerusalem. Muslims believe that Muhammad was transported from the Sacred Mosque in Mecca to al-Aqsa during the Night Journey. Islamic tradition holds that Muhammad led prayers towards this site until the seventeenth month after the emigration, when God directed him to turn towards the Kaaba. The mosque was originally a small prayer house built by the Rashidun caliph Umar, but was rebuilt and expanded by the Umayyad caliph Abd al-Malik and finished by his son al-Walid in 705 CE. When the Crusaders captured Jerusalem in 1099, they used the mosque as a palace and the Dome of the Rock as a church, but its function as a mosque was restored after its recapture by Saladin in 1187.

My name is Zahi Shaked
In 2000 I became a registered liscenced tourist guide.
My dedication in life is to pass on the ancient history of the Holy Land.
Following upon many years of travel around the world, which was highlighted by a very exciting emotional and soul-searching meeting with the Dalai Lama, I realized that I had a mission. To pass on the the history of the Holy Land, its religions, and in particular, the birth and development of Christianity.
In order to fulfill this "calling" in the best way possible, I studied in depth, visited, and personally experienced each and every important site of the ancient Christians. I studied for and received my first bachelors degree in the ancient history of the Holy Land, and am presently completing my studies for my second degree.(Masters)
Parralel to my studies, and in order to earn a living, I was employed for many years in advertising. What I learned there was how to attract the publics attention, generate and, increase interest, and assimilate information. All this I use as tools to describe, explain and deepen the interest in the sites that we visit. From my experience, I have learned that in this way, the Holy Land becomes more than just history, and that the large stones that we see scattered about in dissaray, join together one by one until they become - a Byzantine Church. This also happens when I lead a group of Pilgrims in the Steps of Jesus. We climb to the peak of Mount Precipice, "glide" over the land to the Sea of Galilee, land on the water and "see" the miracle which enfolds before us. This is a many faceted experience. Not only history which you will remember and cherish, but an experience which I hope will be inplanted in your hearts and minds, and will accompany you all the days of your life.

Al Aqsa mosque is the third largest mosque in the world.
-Surface area of 144,000 sqm
-Surface area equivalent to 17% of the old fortified city
-Capacity to accommodate 500,000 worshipers
-Al Aqsa mosque was before 1995 the largest mosque in the world
-During years 1950-1960, Masjid Al Haram in Mecca and Masjid Nabawi in Madina have been extended
-Al Aqsa mosque surface area looks like an irregular polygon
-West side length is 491m, east side is 462m, north side 310m and south side is 281m
• Masjid Al Haram surface area: 400,800 sqm
• Masjid Nabawi surface area: 235,000 sqm
• Masjid Al Aqsa surface area: 144,000 sqm
-Al Aqsa mosque is unique in the world, by its quadrilateral shape and as well by its elements and outbuildings.
-It is the second mosque built on Earth after Masjid Al Haram in Mecca.
-Al Aqsa is the place of the Ascent (Al Miraj) of our beloved Prophet Muhammad.
-This mosque has a great religious importance in Islam.
-It is then very important to remind that geographical limits of Al Aqsa mosque didn’t change throughout centuries.
-Indeed, Al Aqsa mosque has never had any extension since it has been built on Earth.
-In its heart, more than two hundred edifices: fountains, trees, domes, lodges, schools, basins, minarets, doors, wells and librairy
-The esplanade has also to be mentioned as it is an integral part of Al Aqsa mosque.
-The Dome of the Rock (Qubat Sakhra), is located in the heart of Al Aqsa.
-Masjid Al Qibli (The Dome of Lead) is also part of Al Aqsa. It is located on the south, on Qibla side.
-Masjid Al Qibli is one part of Al Aqsa, and it is often wrongly taken for being Al Aqsa on its own.
In the compound there are 200 monuments including Masjid-e-Qibly and Qubbat-As-Sakhrah (Dome of the Rock), other prayer halls, schools, fountains and libraries.

For the first time since 1967, Israel temporarily closed Al Aqsa Mosque to worshippers and visitors because of tensions in East Jerusalem. The police reopened it later, but it was a rare and unusual move. Jordan, which holds custodial rights over Al Aqsa Mosque, responded by recalling its ambassador to Israel. Amman also said it would lodge a complaint with the United Nations against Israel. The latest escalation comes as a number of Israeli politicians and activists call for a change to the current situation. The international community does not recognise the Israeli annexation of the eastern part of Jerusalem in 1967, and under international law it's considered occupied territory. Why is Al Aqsa Mosque so important? And could the ongoing turmoil lead to more violence?

The Old City (Hebrew: העיר העתיקה, Ha'Ir Ha'Atiqah, Arabic: البلدة القديمة, al-Balda al-Qadimah, Armenian: Երուսաղեմի հին քաղաք, Yerusaghemi hin k'aghak' ) is a 0.9 square kilometers (0.35 sq mi) walled area[2] within the modern city of Jerusalem. Until 1860, when the Jewish neighborhood Mishkenot Sha'ananim was established, this area constituted the entire city of Jerusalem. The Old City is home to several sites of key religious importance: the Dome of the Rock and al-Aqsa Mosque for Muslims, the Temple Mount and Western Wall for Jews and the Church of the Holy Sepulchre for Christians, It was added to the UNESCO World Heritage Site List in 1981.
Traditionally, the Old City has been divided into four uneven quarters, although the current designations were introduced only in the 19th century.[3] Today, the Old City is roughly divided into the Muslim Quarter, the Christian Quarter, the Jewish Quarter and the Armenian Quarter. The Old City's monumental defensive walls and city gates were built in the late 16th century by the Ottomans. The current population of the Old City resides mostly in the Islamic and Christian quarters. As of 2007 the total population was 36,965; the breakdown of religious groups in 2006 was 27,500 Muslims, 5,681 Christians, 790 Armenians and 3,089 Jews.[4]
Following the 1948 Israeli War of Independence, the Old City was captured by Jordan and Jewish residents were evicted. During the Six-Day War in 1967, which saw hand-to-hand fighting on the Temple Mount, Israeli forces captured the Old City along with the rest of East Jerusalem, subsequently annexing them as Israeli territory and reuniting them with the western part of the city. Today, the Israeli government controls the entire area, which it considers part of its national capital, although internationally it is recognized as part of occupied Palestinian Territory. The Jerusalem Law of 1980, effectively annexing East Jerusalem to Israel, was declared null and void by UN Security Council Resolution 478 and East Jerusalem is regarded by the international community as part of occupied Palestinian territory.[5][6]
In 2010, Jerusalem's oldest fragment of writing was found outside the Old City's walls.more info visit:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Old_City_(Jerusalem)

Why has Israel closed al-Aqsa Mosque? - George Galloway - Comment - Press TV - 30th October 2014

Israeli forces have denied all Palestinians entry into the al-Aqsa Mosque over the death of an Israeli right-wing activist.
Palestinian President Mahmud Abbas has called the move a “declaration of war” and said the closure of the holy site would fuel “more tension and instability” in the Israeli-occupied lands.
The al-Aqsa compound, which lies in the Israeli-occupied Old City of al-Quds, is a flashpoint holy site in Islam. The location of the compound, known to Jews as the Temple Mount, is the holiest site in Judaism. The mosque is Islam’s third holiest mosque after Masjid al-Haram in Mecca and Masjid al-Nabawi in Medina.
