He has specialized in education-related issues during most of his career. Before he came to the Office of Legislative Counsel, Mark worked for 3 years as a high school teacher in the Los Angeles Unified School District and for 2 years as a staff attorney for the ACLU Foundation of Southern California. Mark received his undergraduate and law degrees from Stanford University and a master's degree from Occidental College. Mark is a member of the California State Bar and holds a lifetime California Standard Secondary Teaching Credential in social sciences and English.
