Mighty effort by the team ⁦⁩ in the latest Nielsen rankings. Increased its audience by 421,500 in June (27%) jumping to 16th position on the list. Gaining on a few dinosaurs...

So, Brian Seymour puts together a 10-part series on Scientology and Seven goes to water right at the death. Very disappointing, Mr Stokes! Shades of protecting from Today Tonight back in 1997:

I’ve been agonising over this for hours...as a former journo, I hate attacking other journos. But I’m so sick of the media that is now attacking ..even to the extent of ‘police state’ comments...who just ignore the actual police state tactics of the LNP.

swing on non-postals 0.4% to Liberal, swing on postals 3.9% to ALP. Had swing on postals matched swing on non-postals, ALP would have lost by c. 160 (because more postals). Improved ALP postals campaign + change in mix of postal voters.

The Foreign Ministry presser does have its lighter moments. Today Hua Chunying took a question on Britain's Huawei ban from a *certain* BBC reporter & then she asked him if he thought his gov't did the right thing? To which he replied "I'm Australian".

A lot of nursing homes and retiree retreats take mini buses full of pensioners to local clubs on trips for a good value lunch, a few games of Keno and a go on the pokies. An outbreak just waiting to happen.
