STORY: Zander Lombard, Hayden Porteous and Anthony Wall shared the lead on 15-under-par after the third round of the Joburg Open in
Johannesburg, South Africa on Saturday (
January 16).
Lombard made nine birdies and two bogeys in his round of 65. His compatriot Porteous opened his round by holing his bunker shot for an eagle.
Despite dropping shots at the 3rd and 4th holes, five birdies and one other bogey saw him finish with a 4-under round of 68.
Wall also shot a 68 in a round where he did not drop a shot to par.
Four players were two shots back in fourth place -
Daniel Im of the
United States (65),
Paul Dunne of
Ireland (68),
Jacques Blaauw of South Africa (67) and overnight leader
Ross McGowan of
England (73).
Erne Els of South Africa, despite missing a short birdie putt at the
18th, shot a solid round of 68 to stand eight shots off the lead.
