Several photos were released by ISIS showing the execution of two people in Mosul. In the undated photos, a man and a woman accused of sex out of wedlock are stoned to death in front of a crowd. This is what ISIS calls “due process” for the crime of being normal people.
The stoning is just one of thousands of unjustifiable executions carried out by ISIS in their war on modernity. And, just like the overwhelming majority of the Islamic State’s victims, they were Muslim too.
ISIS promises its followers they’ll find paradise by fighting a cataclysmic war with America (or Turkey), but has only delivered genocide on Syrians and Iraqis. And when there’s no external enemies to fight, they keep their swords sharp with some internal house cleaning.
Their utopia has less in common with paradise than it does with Cambodia under the Khmer Rouge.
Finally, last week, America’s excessively well funded and well armed allies in the region declared they are unwilling to stand idly by any longer. Saudi Arabia is leading the militaries of Jordan, Pakistan, Sudan, Egypt, Morocco, the UAE, Qatar, and Bahrain, to join forces... and bomb Yemen.

The man and woman were accused of adultery in the district of Dashte Archi in Kunduz province last August.
Hundreds of people attended the stoning but no-one was charged. The area is still under Taliban control.
After viewing the footage, regional police chief Gen Daoud Daoud said those responsible could be recognised.
"Special police investigators will be sent there, we will find them and they will be brought to justice," he told the BBC.
A mobile phone recording of the killings has only just been seen by Afghan and Nato officials. Most of the video is too graphic to be shown.
Soaked in blood
The video begins with Siddqa, a 25-year-old woman, standing waist-deep in a hole in the ground.
She is entirely hidden in a blue burka. Hundreds of men from the village are gathered as two mullahs pass sentence. As Taliban fighters look on, the sentence is passed and she is found guilty of adultery.
The stoning lasts two minutes. Hundreds of rocks - some larger than a man's fist - are thrown at her head and body. She tries to crawl out of the hole, but is beaten back by the stones. A boulder is then thrown at her head, her burka is soaked in blood, and she collapses inside the hole.
Incredibly Siddqa was still alive. The mullahs are heard saying she should be left alone. But a Taliban fighter steps forward with a rifle and she is shot three times.
Then her lover, Khayyam, is brought to the crowd. His hands are tied behind his back. Before he is blindfolded he looks into the mobile phone camera. He appears defiant.
The attack on him is even more ferocious. His body, lying face down, jerks as the rocks meet their target. He is heard to be crying, but is soon silent.
The couple had earlier eloped to Pakistan, but were lured back with the false promise that they would not be harmed.
Taliban spokesman Zabiullah Mujahid defended the sentencing.
In a telephone interview he said: "Anyone who knows about Islam knows that stoning is in the Koran, and that it is Islamic law.
"There are people who call it inhuman - but in doing so they insult the Prophet. They want to bring foreign thinking to this country."
'Fear and hatred'
Nato's senior civilian representative, Mark Sedwill, said the Taliban had an "appalling" view of Islamic justice.
But he said the Afghan government needed to improve the rule of law in the country.
"Communities that are terrorised don't have choices... that's why we have to remove the Taliban in these communities," he said.
"It is absolutely critical that the Afghan government competes head-on with the Taliban in this area - the rule of law - so that people don't face the kind of choice that this community faced."
Ahmed Nader Nadery, of the Afghanistan Independent Human Rights Commission, watched the video in full. He said it brought back memories of when the Taliban ruled the country.
"It not only reminded me of those days in Kabul and other parts of the country, but it created a feeling of fear, and of further hatred of this group. And a fear - what if they return," he said.
Mr Nadery added: "The Afghan government and the international community have failed to deal with these grave crimes. It happened at a time when there was a debate about the future of the international community, and discussions of their timeline for leaving the country."

Stoning, or lapidation, is a form of capital punishment whereby a group throws stones at a person until the person dies. No individual among the group can be identified as the one who kills the subject, yet everyone involved plainly bears some degree of moral culpability. This is in contrast to the case of a judicial executioner. Slower than other forms of execution, stoning is a form of execution by torture.
The methods for carrying out stoning may vary across different histories and cultures.
For example, the Islamic Penal Code of Iran details how stoning punishments are to be carried out for adultery, and even hints in some contexts that the punishment may allow for its victims to avoid death:
Article 102 – An adulterous man shall be buried in a ditch up to near his waist and an adulterous woman up to near her chest and then stoned to death.
Article 103 – In case the person sentenced to stoning escapes the ditch in which they are buried, then if the adultery is proven by testimony then they will be returned for the punishment but if it is proven by their own confession then they will not be returned.

Monty Python (sometimes known as The Pythons) was a British surreal comedy group who created Monty Python's Flying Circus, a British television comedy sketch show that first aired on the BBC on 5 October 1969. Forty-five episodes were made over four series. The Python phenomenon developed from the television series into something larger in scope and impact, spawning touring stage shows, films, numerous albums, several books and a stage musical as well as launching the members to individual stardom. The group's influence on comedy has been compared to The Beatles' influence on music.
The television series, broadcast by the BBC from 1969 to 1974, was conceived, written and performed by members Graham Chapman, John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Eric Idle, Terry Jones, and Michael Palin. Loosely structured as a sketch show, but with an innovative stream-of-consciousness approach (aided by Gilliam's animation), it pushed the boundaries of what was acceptable in style and content. A self-contained comedy team responsible for both writing and performing their work, the Pythons' creative control allowed them to experiment with form and content, discarding rules of television comedy. Their influence on British comedy has been apparent for years, while in North America it has coloured the work of cult performers from the early editions of Saturday Night Live through to more recent absurdist trends in television comedy. "Pythonesque" has entered the English lexicon as a result.

Several photos were released by ISIS showing the execution of two people in Mosul. In the undated photos, a man and a woman accused of sex out of wedlock are stoned to death in front of a crowd. This is what ISIS calls “due process” for the crime of being normal people.
The stoning is just one of thousands of unjustifiable executions carried out by ISIS in their war on modernity. And, just like the overwhelming majority of the Islamic State’s victims, they were Muslim too.
ISIS promises its followers they’ll find paradise by fighting a cataclysmic war with America (or Turkey), but has only delivered genocide on Syrians and Iraqis. And when there’s no external enemies to fight, they keep their swords sharp with some internal house cleaning.
Their utopia has less in common with paradise than it does with Cambodia under the Khmer Rouge.
Finally, last week, America’s excessively well funded and well armed allies in the region declared they are unwilling to stand idly by any longer. Saudi Arabia is leading the militaries of Jordan, Pakistan, Sudan, Egypt, Morocco, the UAE, Qatar, and Bahrain, to join forces... and bomb Yemen.

The man and woman were accused of adultery in the district of Dashte Archi in Kunduz province last August.
Hundreds of people attended the stoning but no-one was charged. The area is still under Taliban control.
After viewing the footage, regional police chief Gen Daoud Daoud said those responsible could be recognised.
"Special police investigators will be sent there, we will find them and they will be brought to justice," he told the BBC.
A mobile phone recording of the killings has only just been seen by Afghan and Nato officials. Most of the video is too graphic to be shown.
Soaked in blood
The video begins with Siddqa, a 25-year-old woman, standing waist-deep in a hole in the ground.
She is entirely hidden in a blue burka. Hundreds of men from the village are gathered as two mullahs pass sentence. As Taliban fighters look on, the sentence is passed and she is found guilty of adultery.
The stoning lasts two minutes. Hundreds of rocks - some larger than a man's fist - are thrown at her head and body. She tries to crawl out of the hole, but is beaten back by the stones. A boulder is then thrown at her head, her burka is soaked in blood, and she collapses inside the hole.
Incredibly Siddqa was still alive. The mullahs are heard saying she should be left alone. But a Taliban fighter steps forward with a rifle and she is shot three times.
Then her lover, Khayyam, is brought to the crowd. His hands are tied behind his back. Before he is blindfolded he looks into the mobile phone camera. He appears defiant.
The attack on him is even more ferocious. His body, lying face down, jerks as the rocks meet their target. He is heard to be crying, but is soon silent.
The couple had earlier eloped to Pakistan, but were lured back with the false promise that they would not be harmed.
Taliban spokesman Zabiullah Mujahid defended the sentencing.
In a telephone interview he said: "Anyone who knows about Islam knows that stoning is in the Koran, and that it is Islamic law.
"There are people who call it inhuman - but in doing so they insult the Prophet. They want to bring foreign thinking to this country."
'Fear and hatred'
Nato's senior civilian representative, Mark Sedwill, said the Taliban had an "appalling" view of Islamic justice.
But he said the Afghan government needed to improve the rule of law in the country.
"Communities that are terrorised don't have choices... that's why we have to remove the Taliban in these communities," he said.
"It is absolutely critical that the Afghan government competes head-on with the Taliban in this area - the rule of law - so that people don't face the kind of choice that this community faced."
Ahmed Nader Nadery, of the Afghanistan Independent Human Rights Commission, watched the video in full. He said it brought back memories of when the Taliban ruled the country.
"It not only reminded me of those days in Kabul and other parts of the country, but it created a feeling of fear, and of further hatred of this group. And a fear - what if they return," he said.
Mr Nadery added: "The Afghan government and the international community have failed to deal with these grave crimes. It happened at a time when there was a debate about the future of the international community, and discussions of their timeline for leaving the country."

STORYLINE
Wearing white robes to symbolise purity and equality under God, (m) millions of Muslims continued their annual pilgrimage on Sunday in the Saudi holy city of Mina for the stoning of Satan, the last and most dangerous rite of the annual Hajj.
To complete their rituals, pilgrims must throw 21 pebbles at each of three 25-metre (82-foot) pillars that represent Satan in a symbolic rejection of temptation.
Hundreds of people have been killed in stampedes in several previous pilgrimages to the sites when the pilgrims cast pebbles at the pillars.
On Sunday, the military was helping maintain security to avoid any accidents.
So far this year, no major incidents have been reported among the pilgrims.
The Mashair Railway, also known as the Mecca Metro, a two-track light railway connecting the three holy sites of Mina, Muzdalifah and Mount Arafat, was operating for the first time this year to ease congestion.
Some 2.5 (m) million people were expected to take part in the five-day event that started on Saturday.
This year's hajj takes place amid an unprecedented wave of anti-government protests in the Arab world which has toppled autocrats in Tunisia, Egypt and Libya.
Uprisings have also shaken regimes in Yemen, Bahrain and Syria.
While Muslims see the hajj as a time to seek forgiveness for one's sins and for individual meditation on the faith, the unrest across the region remained at the forefront of the minds of many pilgrims.
Hajj is the oldest and most sacred ritual of Islam that every able-bodied Muslim who can financially afford the trip must perform once in a lifetime.
The pious journey brings together the many nations that make up the 1.3 (b) billion Muslims worldwide.
The day also marked the start of the Islamic holiday of Eid al-Adha, or "Feast of Sacrifice", when Muslims around the world slaughter sheep and cattle in remembrance of Abraham's near-sacrifice of his son.

The Nigerian woman condemned to stoning by an Islamic court for having sex outside marriage said she hopes to marry and live a normal life if her appeal is successful.
Speaking in Abuja on Tuesday, Amina Lawal declined to speak on the controversy over the Miss World pageant or on religious differences in Nigeria .
Shying away from political questions, the 31-year-old single mother only repeated that she wanted to be allowed to settle back into a normal family life.
Lawal, who has two other children from previous marriages, was first sentenced in March after giving birth to a daughter more than nine months after divorcing.
She lost her first appeal against the ruling in a Shariah, or Islamic law, court on August 19.
Hauwa Ibrahim, Lawal's lawyer, said that she is hopeful for their next appeal case which will be based on alleged misconduct during the trial, including the failure to provide legal counsel for the defendant.
These two appeals are to successively higher Islamic courts, but if the next one fails, Lawal can appeal to the Supreme Court, where the case would force a showdown between Nigeria's constitutional and religious authorities.
The introduction of Shariah in a dozen northern states has sparked clashes between the country's Christians and Muslims.
President Olusegun Obasanjo's government has declared Shariah punishments such as beheadings, stonings and amputations unconstitutional.

Welcome to my Solo Survival series.
After narrowly escaping from our base from our Co-op series, (http://youtu.be/jHV8OwNGmbk) which was overrun with cargo ships seeking revenge for their fallen brethren which were consumed by the G.o.D.
We now find ourselves drifting in space. Luckily, or unluckily, we have crashed onto another asteroid. Can we survive?

We are playing in Realistic mode which should add the challenge of having to be very efficient with how we play and use resources.
Building utility ships will be essential in order to increase our productivity.
Our current main goal for the series will be to get established and bring the MAMS (Morilibus' Auto Mining System) online and start removing the asteroid that we have crashed on. This will be a big task and will require us to build MAMS Mark IX and it's sister Collector ship.
Suggestions for the series are always welcome and appreciated. I want the viewers to be involved in how our world turns out and what projects we decide to work on.
