I finally let the dogs out of the burned tower and face off against Morty while a bit under-leveled. This is a fully randomized nuzlocke of Pokémon Heart Gold with special rules that let me resurrect my dead Pokémon through a difficult battle with their killers. With this allowance comes a price though with extra restriction on my playthrough. The full list of rules can be found below. Pokémon HeartGold was developed by Game Freak and Published by Nintendo for the Nintendo DS in 2010 (NA). ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Follow me on: --Twitter: https://twitter.com/vochelli --Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/groups/576639715770667/ ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The rules of this Nuzlocke are as follows: 1) Nuzlocke --The first Pokémon that I encounter in each new area is the only Pokémon I can catch for that area. If that encounter is KOed, runs away, or the battle ends for any reason I cannot catch any other Pokémon until the next area. If the first encounter is a Pokemon of the same species or evolutionary line of a previously caught Pokemon, I can choose to have another first encounter. --If a Pokemon's HP reaches 0 it is considered dead and cannot be used again for battling. See the Resurrection rules for exceptions. --All caught Pokémon must be nicknamed to promote bonding. --Static encounters (Pokémon that are received as gifts or encountered by directly interacting with them) are separate from first encounters and can be caught. --Roaming Pokémon (e.g. Entei and Raikou) do not count as first encounters and can be caught regardless of how many times I encounter them). --I reserve the right to use a non-battling "HM" slave if none of my Pokémon can learn the necessary HM. This rule trumps the party restriction rule in the Special Restrictions section. 2) Randomization --Wild Pokémon are full randomized (can include legendaries, stage 2, etc.) --Trainer's Pokémon are fully randomized. --TM's and Items are fully randomized. --Pokémon that evolve through trade or other impossible methods can evolve under different conditions, usually at level 37. --Pokemon with it's final evolution above lvl 50 will fully evolve at lvl 40. 3) Resurrection --Dead Pokémon can be used again if they survive a "Grave Match." A Grave Match is a battle on Pokémon Showdown that allows all legal options in Pokémon Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire. Each opponent can use whatever EVs, IVs, items, moves, etc. they want. I have to use a team consisting of the dead Pokémon I want to resurrect and my opponent (a real person chosen by me) will make a team of the Pokémon that killed my team members during the nuzlocke. --A Grave Match can occur after I beat a gym leader or the entire Elite 4 for the first time. --Pokémon who faint during the Grave Match are considered permanently dead and can never be used in the nuzlocke. --Pokémon on my team who are alive at the end of the Grave Match can be used again in the nuzlocke. They can only be revived this way once though; if they die again in the nuzlocke, they cannot be resurrected. 4) Special Restrictions --In the interest of keeping the game difficult despite my special resurrection rules, I will also impose several restrictions on the nuzlocke --Battle Style is Set, meaning I will not have the option to switch when my opponent sends out another Pokémon after the previous one fainted. --Legendary Pokémon can be used by other trainers and can be encountered in the wild. --My party Pokémon cannot be switched with those in the PC. A party Pokémon either has to die or be released to allow another Pokémon into the party.
