New York City is an international metropolis built on the shoulders of immigrants and their descendants.
New York City is home to eight million people, and the city receives more than 50 million visitors per year. Your New York City tour should include sampling the food of hundreds of different cultures, and you can explore the easily on foot, by taxi, or via the famous subway system.
No New York sightseeing is complete without a visit to Times Square, which you’ve no doubt seen in many movies. Take in its billboards, its many people, and its food, then cross over to Central Park, which comprises 850 acres of lakes and meadows, and is the setting for many a romantic comedy. You also have your pick of art and history museums, as well as the Reflecting Absence Memorial and Museum, where you can pay your respects to the victims of 9/11.

Our recent week in New York City was an action-packed one. We decided to set ourselves a challenge to see and do as much as we possibly could, and that gave way to this travel video guide which highlights 50 of the top attractions. In a city like New York this means we barely scratched the surface, but hopefully this video will highlight the cornucopia of possibilities that is the Big Apple.
We try our best to cover all of the top attractions including fine arts, entertainment, festivals, dining, architecture and museums as well as focusing on lesser known off the beaten path attractions to cover all forms of tourism. If you only have time to visit only one city in the United States it ought to be NYC, USA:

Most journeys begin at Penn Station or Grand Central, and if you arrive at the later you'll be wowed by the building. The Meatpacking District was once home to markets, slaughterhouses, and packaging plants, but times have changed. Today you'll find a mixture of trendy restaurants, clubs and boutiques. The Village used to be a bohemian neighborhood that drew artists and musicians, but today you're more likely to find upper middle class families living here. Completed in 1883, Brooklyn Bridge is one of the oldest suspension bridges in the United States. Williamsburg has become popular given its lower rent prices. University students and young professionals have been flocking to this part of town.
You can walk along the riverfront for a great view of the Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridges and the Manhattan skyline. During the summer months, Bryant Park also becomes a popular hangout spot people looking to relax and even work on their tans. The Staten Island Ferry is free of charge and this makes it really popular with visitors who want to catch a glimpse of the Statue of Liberty from a distance. Battery Park is located on the southern tip of Manhattan. Having both lived in South Korea, we were thrilled to come across Manhattan's own Little Korea. Coney Island is all about good old fashioned fun. You can ride roller coasters, stroll down the boardwalk, enjoy some beach time, and then head over the Nathan's Famous hot dogs. The Cloisters will make you feel like you've travelled over to Europe. Central Park is massive and there are so many places to visit within its boundaries. We managed to visit Belvedere Castle, the Great Lawn, Shakespeare Garden, The Ramble, The Jackie Onassis Reservoir, the Alice in Wonderland Statue, and we still left feeling like we barely scratched the surface. Strawberry Fields is a section of Central Park dedicated to the memory of John Lennon.
And that concludes a look at our very busy week in New York City. I'm still shocked we managed to cover so many attractions, but the great thing about this city is that distances aren't very long and there's always something really cool worth checking out around each corner. Have you been to New York? What are your favorite things about this city? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments section below.

New York, the Big Apple for the locals, is the largest city of the United States. Its most famous sight is the monumental Statue of Liberty, but there are the famous skyscrapers like the Empire State Building or the Rockefeller Center, while the twin towers of the World trade Center are sadly missed. Along the streets cabs hunt for customers. The lung of the city is Central Park, the paradise of joggers and dog owners. The Wall Street is the center of the world of money, while the Broadway is the same for Arts. Famous theatres, museums, the cafes and clubs of Greenwich Village and the renewed places of the old docks await the visitors here.

Here are some Things to do in NYC :) This 1st of a "Things to do in NYC" is the BASICS. I will do more in depth videos on neighborhoods like Harlem, Brooklyn, Lower East Side which will include shopping, entertainment, eating, all that :) But for now I hope you find this helpful and excited about exploring NYC. I didn't "forget" to list anything. This is just the first video and trust their are a million things to do. Sorry for not including Brooklyn. I rarely go out there and didn't have footage to include in this video. But here goes!
As for the things I listed check them out here:
Statue of Liberty, is located on Ellis Island. It's since been reopened
http://www.statuecruises.com/choose_tickets.aspx
Central Park is cliche and a MUST! Check out the Boat House this summer and rent a paddle boat for $12/hr. Cash only and a $20 deposit is required
http://www.thecentralparkboathouse.com
Magnolia Bakery has an amazing to die for Banana Pudding that used to be so secret which is now another MUST HAVE while in town
http://www.magnoliabakery.com
Katz Deli is a historical landmark that happens to be famous for their sandwiches. Try the pastrami if you're into that...I'm not :/ Yes this is a tourist destination but it's a part of NYC's history hence a MUST!
http://katzsdelicatessen.com
Patricia Field is a NYC fashion fixture! Made famous for her costume designing in The Devil Wears Prada and Sex and the City: the Movie and sequel, her boutique is another MUST. I love playing dressup here and splurging on accessories!
http://www.patriciafield.com
Need to get around? Rent a bike! I have yet to try this but it seems fabulous! Save your feet and cover more ground. These bikes and bike spots are all over the city. A perfect way to burn calories and see more of the city faster.
http://citibikenyc.com
Caracas! This happens to be a fav spot of mine! It's uber small and the lines can be long but I love the food. Yes it's fried and oh so good! I've never had an Arepa until I came here and the prices are perfect for us budget minded peeps Try it! just read their yelp reviews!
http://www.yelp.com/biz/caracas-arepa-bar-new-york
http://www.caracasarepabar.com
Summer in NYC isn't really summer until you get your butt on a rooftop. My pick was Jimmy Rooftop. Sunday's after 3pm are bomb! Amazing music courtesy of DJ Cato. I believe it is doorman discretion, which means, dress your best and don't travel with a bunch of dudes. You get an amazing view of the sun setting over the Hudson River and you get to splash around in the pool if you so choose. I chose this spot because I used to work here and loved it!
http://www.jameshotels.com/new-york/eat-drink/jimmy/
Yes! Go to Church! After you party it up Saturday night or Sunday afternoon bring your sinful behind to this awesome church! You don't have to be religious to attend. This is a non-denominal church and people from all over the world come here for the amazing sermons and not to mention the interior. This Church is a converted theatre and a must see. Now go and pray!
http://www.tscnyc.org
My spot! We in my hood now. You MUST go to Orange Beauty Supply! I used to buy all my hair products here when I had hair and you def need to buy a wig here. I take all my gurls here and hook them up with a fabulous synthetic or human hair wig just cause!
Apollo!!! You MUST go here on amateur night! It's historical! You either boo or cheer for the talent on stage. You must have an opinion! Quiet indifference is not tolerated :)
A real life YouTube comment board in live action! I've been here countless times and it's a great way to get the energy up!

New York is the most populous city in the United States and the center of the New York Metropolitan Area, one of the most populous urban agglomerations in the world.
The most important places to visit in New York are: Brooklyn Bridge (built in 1883, it is one of the oldest suspension bridges in America and continues to inspire the people of New York City), Wall Street (the bull here makes everyone happy. See where billions are won or lost in seconds), Central Park (one of the world's greatest urban parks. Get involved in an outdoor activity or watch New Yorkers go about their exercise routines), Empire State Building (an American icon, which was built remarkably during the Great Depression. Ride to the top for unmatched city views), Times Square (best experienced at night. First time visitors are simply in awe amidst the bright neon lights), Statue of Liberty (this is one landmark you must visit. The ultimate symbol of New York City).
If you want to save time and money, the most important New York travel tip is to compare prices before booking a hotel room or a flight. You can do this for free on http://bookinghunter.com, a site that searches through hundreds of other travel websites in real time for the best travel deals available.

TRAVEL ESSENTIALS FOR NEW YORK CITY | New York City Travel Guide

I revisited New York for a week (but I actually lived there for 9 years.. and I know this: gife in New York City revolves around three things: time, speed and efficiency. In fact a lot of Manhattanites live by daily mental check lists and feel like they never have enough time to everything they want and need to do. Today I'm going to share with you my top 5 travel tips for surviving the Big Bad Apple (aka New York City).
1. Bring comfortable and practical shoes. Now I know a lot of you have probably watched Sex & the City and the women in that TV show always wear high heels. That's because they were taking taxi cabs everywhere. Unless you're taking taxi cabs everywhere , be prepared to walk. A lot. you'll be walking up and down stairs, you'll be taking the metro and the bus all around and you'll be walking blocks and blocks and BLOCKS! Being from Hawaii I was practically born in flip-flops and when I moved to New York, I realized they just didn't work there.
2. Don't stop in the middle of a busy sidewalk or at the entry of a subway station. I like to think of busy New York sidewalks as kind of like the pedestrian version of the German Autobahne. If you're going to stop on the sidewalk or when you emerge from the subway station pull off to the side so other people can pass you by. Simple as that.
3. It is a well-known belief that New Yorkers happen to be very impatient, therefore, next tip is if you're waiting in a checkout line, have your wallet ready when you get to the cash register. The last thing you want to do is wait until you get to the very front, have the cash register ring you up your purchase, tell you what it is and then you... open your bag to look for your wallet. You might not make the cashier or the people behind you very happy. Remember, good customer is not a requirement in New York city. It's an option.
4. Now a lot of people think that New York City is an expensive place to live as well as to visit. That can't be furthest from the truth. The two things that tend to be expensive in New York City are rent and a hotel room. Outside of that you'll find that Manhattan actually has a lot of free activities, like concerts in Central Park, or Shakespeare in the park. You have street markets and street vendors who sell things at a very discounted rate. You don't need to rent a car, you can always take public transportation. In fact, you can buy daily, weekly and monthly unlmited metro passes. If you love to eat, there's always hole-in-the-wall restaurants with good food, for cheap! Also if you love shopping, New York doesn't have sale tax on clothes.
Now last, where to find toilets. New York isn't really known for having a whole lot of public toilets and if it did, I don't know if you'd actually really want to use them. People can be dirty. But if you really had to go and were looking for a spot to go in, then my best suggestion is: Mc Donald, Starbucks, public museums as well as the New York public libraries. some parks migh have them but I wouldn't count on them. One handy app I have is Sit n Squat. It's downloadable for free by Charmin and it will help you locate the nearest toilet whether paid or free on your phone.

So nun aber eins nach dem anderen.
Ich selbst reise sehr gerne, und man kann auch sagen
sehr viel. Egal ob Privat oder Beruflich, ich bin mehrmals
pro Monat unterwegs.
Auto, Bahn, Flug, Hotel. Immer auf der Jagd nach Schnäppchen.
Denn ich will beim reisen sparen.
"Low Cost Weltenbummler" nennt.
http://promo.ag2014.16759.digistore24.com/
Wir hatten sofort einen sehr guten Draht zueinander, und arbeiten
schon fast 1 Jahr eng zusammen.
zittern!
Seit nunmehr 14 Jahren reist Ralf (fast) umsonst um die Welt.
Hier mal Beispiele ..
.. 10 Tage Mauritius im 5 Sterne mit Halbpension für 400 Euro
.. 1 Woche Mallorca im 4,5 Sterne Hotel mit All Inklusive für NULL Euro
.. 8 Wochen Mietwagen in den USA mir 4175 Dollar Rabatt
Glauben Sie nicht? Dann schauen Sie mal hier:

In my 3rd interview on How To Make It In Sports Media I talk with Todd Heyden, co-founder of SportsLock, on building a mobile fantasy sports platform built around the concept of brackets and making fantasy sports more social and fun.
I wanted to interview Todd because he is building and doing something great in the world of sports. He's an example of someone who has a burning passion and desire to be the best and hopefully others who dream of working in sports can learn from his experience and journey.
In the interview Todd and I talk about:
-How is SportsLock different from DraftKings & FanDuel?
-Why SportsLock's branding is relevant and edgy?
-What are some of the biggest things he's learned as he's grown the business?
-With all the regulations that are going on in New York with the daily fantasy sports industry, is it here to stay?
-Let’s go to the first day that you started SportsLock with your co-founder Ross Karel. What was it like taking the leap?
-What is a typical day like for you (from when you wake up until you go to bed)?
-What skills or attributes do you look for in potential employees?
At the end we also have a lightning round where Todd answers a bevy of sports questions.
You can download the SportsLock app in the App Store and if you use promo code: BACON you'll get hooked up!

http://moneyandtech.com/November-16-15-news-update/
Since their inception online daily fantasy sites like Draft Kings and Fan Duel have skirted the line of legality. Much the way services like Airbnb and Uber have existed in a weird no man's land of regulation, taking advantage of a loophole in laws, or becoming just big enough that though the service offered itself is illegal, states end up having to play catch up too late in the game. It's seemed that recently these sites have spent more time defending themselves against regulation than anything else. Back in September ESPN Anchor Scott Van Pelt, in a bold move considering how much ESPN has invested and received from these sites, actually opened his show calling out daily fantasy sites, stating "There's an old adage that suggests pigs get fed, and, say it with me, hogs get slaughtered. Right now it feels like Daily Fantasy is the hog running at warp speed to the butcher. The sheer gluttony, and volume of activity creates a climate where some kind of correction seems inevitable. I don't mean with the leagues themselves necessarily, I mean with everything associated with the concept. The people who want to get rich in a day, the TV networks, us, everyone else running more of their ads than anything else at the moment, the leagues who are hitching their wagon to them, which is hilarious. Everyone" Well, Scott, that correction has finally come. This week, New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman ruled that Draft Kings and Fan Duel are to be regarded as illegal online gambling in the state of New York. Both sites have been sent cease-and-desist notices, demanding that they no longer accept "wagers' from New York state residents. Daily Fantasy sites have constantly fallen back on the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act of 2006, which prohibited online gambling or wagers on games of chance, but made an exception for fantasy sports a case could be made that success was actually based on skill and knowledge. Schneiderman concluded that "each DraftKings/FanDuel wager represents a wager on a 'contest of chance' where winning or losing depends on numerous elements of chance to a 'material degree." Fan Duel released a statement on the ruling, that comes off, understandingly, pretty annoyed "Fantasy sports is a game of skill and legal under New York State law. This is a politician telling hundreds of thousands of New Yorkers they are not allowed to play a game they love and share with friends, family, coworkers and players across the country... after the Attorney General realized he could now get himself some press coverage, he decided a game that has been around for a long, long time is suddenly now not legal... The only thing that changed today is the Attorney General's mind." It makes sense too, since Fan Duel's primary offices are located in New York, they have numerous promotion deals with New York sports teams, including courtside signage in Madison Square Garden, so… under this new ruling, it’s probably all coming down.

Daily fantasy sports companies DraftKings and FanDuel said on Monday that they are seeking temporary restraining orders in an effort to continue operating in New York. The state's attorney general previously declared both websites to contain illegal gambling and demanded they stop taking money from New Yorkers. DraftKings said in their memorandum of law, "This court should not allow the attorney general to destroy a business that has been openly and legally operating in the state for years without due process of law." Last Tuesday, New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman sent cease and desist letters to FanDuel and DraftKings, the leaders in the daily fantasy sports market, demanding that they stop taking money from players in the state. Both companies proceeded to file suit against Schneiderman in New York Supreme Court, asking the court to rule that the games are legal.

Fantasy sports sites sue New York AG for 'shocking overreach'

Daily fantasy sports sites FANDUEL and DraftKings have sued New York State Attorney General Eric Schneiderman after he sought to ban them for illegal sports gambling. Supporters of the fan sites have gathered to protest outside Schneidermann's office.
In petitions to the court, FanDuel and DraftKings – top daily fantasy sports sites in an industry that makes $2.6 billion in entry fees, according to Schneiderman – called the attorney general's actions an illegal affront to their businesses, saying that a ban in New York State would cause irreparable harm, reported ESPN.
"He has unleashed an irresponsible, irrational and illegal campaign to destroy a legitimate industry," the court filing said. The companies asked the court to allow them to continue BUSINESS operations in New York while legal wrangling continues.
The FANTASY SPORTS sites contested Schneiderman's characterization of their BUSINESSES as amounting to a game of chance instead of skill. Being a game of chance would make the sites' operation illegal in New York, the AG has said. The companies pointed to Schneiderman's mention that a small amount of people won most of the money on the sites, arguing that this proved their offerings were in fact a game of skill.
The two companies also decried Schneiderman's order for PAYMENT operators to discontinue financial transactions to the sites' New York customers.
FANDUEL's business does not constitute 'bookmaking' under New York law because the underlying DFS contests are not gambling and because FANDUEL does not stand to profit based on the results of those contests (or have any economic interest in one outcome over another, as a CASINO or bookmaker would.)," the lawsuit said.
Following an investigation into DFS sites, Schneiderman's office announced on November 11 that it had sent cease-and-desist letters to FanDuel and DraftKings, calling on the sites to halt all wagers in the state.
"Daily fantasy sports is neither victimless nor harmless, and it is clear that DraftKings and FanDuel are the leaders of a massive, multi-billion-dollar scheme intended to evade the law and fleece sports fans across the country," he said. "Today we have sent a clear message: not in New York – and not on my watch."
In response to the lawsuit against his office, Schneiderman said in a statement that his job "is to enforce New York State law," and that his office will continue its efforts to shut down the companies.
"Because both companies have refused to follow the law in our state, we will take action to enforce state law," the attorney general said Friday.
On Friday morning, hundreds of fantasy sites' customers gathered outside Schneiderman's office to protest the ban. The protesters – holding signs that read "Keep your laws off my lineup" and "If only politics were skill-based" – were led by FANDUEL co-founder Tom Griffiths.
“He acted unlike any other AG in the country... It’s surprising that he has acted unilaterally overnight to shut us down," Griffiths told BUSINESS Insider.
DRAFTKINGSand FANDUEL were banned in Nevada in mid-October.
Both sites let customers create “fantasy” teams of real professional sports players and follow their progress as the players rise and fall during sports seasons and events. There is an entry fee to participate and cash PRIZES are paid out depending on fantasy teams’ performance and success.
The fantasy sports industry found itself in the spotlight in September, after DraftKings employee Ethan Haskell, won $350,000 at FANDUEL shortly after releasing game line-up data before the start of the third week of the National Football League (NFL) season. Normally, the data is not released until after certain games are played.
Fantasy sites have partnership agreements with major sports leagues in the US – including Major League Baseball (MLB), NFL, and World Wrestling Entertainment – as well as individual teams in the NFL, MLB, National Hockey Association (NHL), and National Basketball Association (NBA). Major broadcasters like ESPN and Fox Sports also have lucrative deals with fantasy sites.

On Friday, Fantasy football fans were protesting the recent decision by New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman that DraftKings and FanDuel stop accepting bets because, he says, their games are considered illegal gambling under state law. A 2006 federal law, the Unlawful Internet Gambling and Enforcement Act of 2006 (UIGEA), was created to provide legal guidelines for online gambling, which allows fantasy sports companies to operate under games of skill and not chance. Business owners and game players were out near Wall Street saying this decision isn't fair. Business owner, Tom Happle was upset with how the decision was handled. 'Usually if you have an attorney general protecting the consumer, something good comes out of it,' he said. 'Nothing good comes out of this. Nothing.' Happle said that this hurts businesses. 'FanDuel and DraftKing all they did was create jobs and create a whole new industry and put people to work,' he said. 'And no one got hurt, no one is getting sued, there's no class action lawsuit. There's nothing.' Other protesters were upset because they believe that fantasy football is a game of skill and not chance. 'If it was a game of chance, there's wouldn't be a hierarchy,' said one protester. 'There wouldn't be 1% getting all the earnings. Because of that specifically, it is a game of skill.'

It's a game of skill! That's the message daily fantasy sports sites hoped to convey Friday morning at a hastily-arranged protest outside the Manhattan office of New York's attorney general. A few hundred protesters gathered at 8 a.m. in hopes of speaking out against Eric Schneiderman's recent move ordering the company, and its main competitor, DraftKings, to stop taking bets in the state. The crowd was made up of mostly employees of the New York-based FanDuel, or outsiders, such as staffers of fantasy sports content websites like RotoGrinders, whose livelihoods are tied to their success. The protesters carried signs, which displayed slogans like, "If only politics were skill-based," that were provided by FanDuel.

Anthony George Douglas Mason (born December 14, 1966) is a retired American professional basketball player. In his 13-year career he played with the New Jersey Nets, Denver Nuggets, New York Knicks, Charlotte Hornets, Milwaukee Bucks and Miami Heat of the National Basketball Association. He averaged 10.8 points and 8.3 rebounds in his 13-year NBA career. During the prime of his career in the mid-1990s, he earned the NBA Sixth Man of the Year Award in 1995 and then led the NBA in minutes played in the subsequent two seasons. In 1997, he earned All-NBA (3rd team) and NBA All-Defensive Team (2nd team). He was selected to the 2001 NBA All-Star Game.
Mason played collegiately for Tennessee State University and played professionally in Turkey, Venezuela, the Continental Basketball Association (CBA) and the United States Basketball League (USBL).
Mason attended Tennessee State University and was drafted by the Portland Trail Blazers in the third round of the 1988 NBA Draft (53rd pick), but was cut shortly afterwards. He then played for Efes Pilsen basketball club in Turkey, Marinos de Oriente in Venezuela, the CBA and the USBL for about a year. He had brief stints with the New Jersey Nets, where he averaged 1.8 points, and the Denver Nuggets, where he played only 3 games. Mason then signed with the New York Knicks in the summer of 1991. In the 1990–91 season, Mason played 26 games for the CZbA's Tulsa Fast Breakers, where he averaged 29.9 points and 14.8 rebounds per game in his only season in the league.[1]
Under coach Pat Riley, Mason blossomed in New York, where he made up a strong front court alongside Patrick Ewing, Charles Oakley and Charles Smith. In 1994, the Knicks reached the NBA Finals for the first time since 1973 but lost in seven games to the Hakeem Olajuwon-led Houston Rockets. Mason was traded in 1996 to the Charlotte Hornets with Brad Lohaus for Larry Johnson. In 2000, he was sent to the Miami Heat with Eddie Jones, Ricky Davis and Dale Ellis for Jamal Mashburn, P.J. Brown, Tim James, Rodney Buford and Otis Thorpe, and finished his career with the Milwaukee Bucks. He retired in 2003, and fixed residence in Memphis, Tennessee.
Mason won the NBA Sixth Man of the Year award in 1995. He was named to the 1996-'97 All-NBA Third Team and to the NBA All-Defensive Second Team. He led the league in minutes played in 1995-'96 (3,457), also setting a Knicks record with the number. He also led the league in minutes played per game in 1996-97 (43.1).
His first season with the Hornets was the best in his NBA career. He recorded career-highs in minutes played (43.1), points (16.2), rebounds (11.4) and assists (5.7) and also 4 triple-doubles (the first in his career). He missed the entire 1998-'99 season due to a ruptured biceps injury [1], then averaged 11.6 points and 8.5 rebounds the following one.
In Miami, although Mason had been brought over by Miami coach Pat Riley to be a role player on a contender Heat team, the kidney ailment of Alonzo Mourning forced him to sit out and made Mason a primary contributor for the team. Mason would respond by finishing second on the team in scoring with 16.1 points per game and would also average 9.6 rebounds. With Mourning and Grant Hill selected but unable to play due to injury in the 2001 NBA All Star Game, Mason was chosen to represent the Heat, and it would be his first and only selection to an All-Star team. Mason helped the Heat make the playoffs with a surprising 50 win season for the injury ravaged Heat. Mason however virtually disappeared in the playoffs, taking only 13 shots and averaging a mere 5.3 points and 3 rebounds in three games. Mason was not re-signed and was waived during the offseason.
He signed with the Milwaukee Bucks for the 2001-02 season. The team was full of stars already and, adding Mason to the front line, seemed like "the force" in the East. Chemistry problems plagued the Bucks, who had reached within one game of the 2001 NBA Finals just prior to the acquisition of Mason, and the blame largely fell on Mason, who, according to ESPN, had entered training camp 30 pounds overweight and openly criticized fellow Bucks players on and off the court. His vociferous criticisms were combatted by then-Bucks coach George Karl, who reminded Mason he was not a coach and needed to tone down his speech. Karl's directions were relayed to the media during an interview; nevertheless, Mason insisted during an interview with an ESPN contributor, "No, not really [did anyone tell me to tone down his speech]." In Mason's first season with the Bucks, the team stumbled to a 41-41 record (11 games worse than the previous season) and missed the playoffs altogether. Mason's numbers went down as well: 9.6 ppg, 7.9 rpg. Nonetheless Milwaukee stuck with Mason for another year, waiving him after the 2002-2003 season.
