One of the earliest examples of public spaces are commons. For example, no fees or paid tickets are required for entry. Non-government-owned malls are examples of 'private space' with the appearance of being 'public space'.
A public space is a social space such as a town square that is generally open and accessible. Public space has also become something of a touchstone for critical theory in relation to philosophy, (urban) geography, visual art, cultural studies, social studies and urban design. The term 'public space' is also often misconstrued to mean other things such as 'gathering place', which is an element of the larger concept of social space.
Most streets, including the pavement, are considered public space, as are town squares or parks. Government buildings which are open to the public, such as public libraries are public space. Although not considered public space, privately owned buildings or property visible from sidewalks and public thoroughfares may affect the public visual landscape, for example, by outdoor advertising.

Sabine Knierbein is an international expert on public space. She studied landscape design before concluding her Ph.D. in urban studies at Bauhaus Universität Weimar, where she started exploring relations between public space, the philosophy of science, and research as action with impact. Sabine is an innovator who (re)designs academic curricula and research fields for engaged urban professionals. As director of the Interdisciplinary Centre for Urban Culture and Public Space (TU Wien), her fields include urban theory, urban governance, spatial resistance, and urban emancipation. Her lecture addresses spatial dilemmas between crisis and innovation and offers a different utopian approach to the city by relocating public space in the spatial presence of our own actions.

As director of the Interdisciplinary Centre for Urban Culture and Public Space (TU Wien), her fields include urban theory, urban governance, spatial resistance, and urban emancipation. Her lecture addresses spatial dilemmas between crisis and innovation and offers a different utopian approach to the city by relocating public space in the spatial presence of our own actions.

Our goal: Put a network of tube and cube sats in low earth orbit and lunar orbit broadcasting live video, experiments and data accessible free on our website for the public and schools around the world for live educational experiments in space. We will be working side by side with college students, high school students and many others. We have established a board of directors consisting of a professional historian and museum curator and the president of the local astronomical society to ensure this projects success. We are almost there folks, I have worked hard since April 4th to get us this far. We have a plan, we have a ride to orbit, we need to start the advertising campaign. You can contribute on the main channel page of this youtube channel, it is greatly appreciated as the only way this will fail is if the community doesn't support it.!
