Blue Mountains

The Blue Mountains is located in New South Wales Australia about 60 kilometers from the center of Sydney. It stretches for 220 kilometers, and is bounded by the Nepean and Hawkesbury River. It was a home for many indigenous Australians for several years and protects 700 known aboriginal sites.

The Blue Mountains consists of seven national park areas and receives an annual rainfall of about 1,050 millimeters. It is full of rainforests, waterfalls, natural vegetation, swaps, and protects over 150 plant species and many unique animals.

The mountains gives off a blue tinge when viewing from a distance which is where it got its name from. This place truly shows how amazing nature really is with its main attractions being the three sisters which the aboriginals believed to be sisters that turned to stone, Jenolan caves and the breathtaking Wentworth falls.

The Blue Mountains also holds many large festivals in its area including the blues and roots folk music festival which is held every year and the winter magic festival.
