Game Informer's Top Scoring Game Reviews Of 2015

GI:
"We review loads of games every year, but only the best receive our special Game Informer awards. Some earn a Silver (a score of 8.5 to 8.75), some Gold (9.0 to 9.5), and an elite few make it all the way to Platinum (9.75 to 10). We've compiled every awarded game released so far in 2015 so that you can easily browse and keep track of the top scoring games. If a particular game catches your eye, you can click on the title to read the full review. Be sure to check back every month as more games are added to the list." Interesting. I think that as time passes, games get harder to review b/c of previous reviews.

For me, atm, my GotY is Fallout 4. Many have talked about graphics and similarity. Of course there's similarity, and it's a great thing. The settlement addition and insanely expansive environment , along w crafting is unparalleled this yr, especially on console.

My close, and very close runners up are BB and TW3 b/c of the story telling, questing for the latter and challenge and immersion of the former.

In 2-3 yrs many, many ppl will still be playing F4. I'm not sure the same can be said of the other 2.

GOTY IMO choices:

Fallout 4, MGSV, The Witcher 3, Bloodborne, Batman Arkham Knight, Super Mario Maker...

And IMO: MGSV should win it.

MGSV should take it, not only was it a great game it was also a technical achievement running 1080p @ 60fps, open world, on console.

Fallout 4 was too technically jank to win the award for me personally. Bethesda needs to get their engine / engineer together, because no game should be launching in this day and age with these kind of problems. That being said it's a great game, although it's very similar to FO3 and FO Vegas which isn't a bad thing at all, but not quite the revolution I'd hope for 7 years later.

The Witcher 3 has a few bugs as well, but it's without question the best fantasy RPG since Skyrim, and improves the fantasy RPG genre above almost all of it's predecessors. Just a great RPG.

Bloodborne would be a top contender as well and I'd place it, FO3, and W3 all on the same playing field. But Bllodborne's problem is it's a very acquired taste, it fun, but tough and brutal, and has a learning curve many gamers simply can't jel with.

Batman Arkham Knight, was a good game with moments of greatness. This is one of those cases where bigger isn't always better, and both Arkham City and Arkham Asylum are better games, and so are the above 4.

Super Mario Maker, is an amazing experience, but I just didn't have enough time to play it because I had sold my Wii U. My time with it however, was very enjoyable, but I just feel it's hard for a game like this to stack up to the huge and amazingly crafted campaigns of the games listed above.

Mine is The Witcher 3. Contenders for me were Arkham Knight, Ori and the Blind Forest, Rise of the Tomb Raider, Bloodborne, and once I'm finished with Fallout 4 that will join the ranks I'm sure.

I really want Rocket League to win some GOTY awards.

What a great game, tons of fun and tons of pure gameplay. Easily the game I had the most "fun" with this year.

Offline MGSV > Online MGSV and only online MGSV exists as of today. I really hope MGSV gets punished for the tactics they employed a month or so after launch. Had the last mission left, turned my game on after a month, everything had gone to hell.

The Witcher 3 is a great game but way too big, most people in the industry elude to never having beaten it. Too much of a good thing IMO.

Bloodborne is a solid game, but came out so long ago I wonder if it will hurt it's chances for GOTY's.

Until Dawn is a solid choice for a dark-hose GOTY winner. Unique game that caught people off guard.

I don't think COD, Battlefront, or Halo 5 will win any GOTY awards.

Tomb Raider is another good candidate, press is eating that game up.
