Steven Tyler (born Steven Victor Tallarico; March 26, 1948) is an American singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and former television music competition judge, best known as the frontman of the Boston-based rock band Aerosmith, in which he also plays the harmonica, and occasional piano and percussion. He is known as the "Demon of Screamin' due to his high screams and his wide vocal range. He is also known for his on-stage acrobatics.
During his high-energy performances, he usually dresses in bright, colorful outfits with his trademark scarves hanging from his microphone stand. In the 1970s, Tyler rose to prominence as the frontman of Aerosmith, which released such milestone hard rock albums as Toys in the Attic and Rocks. In the late 1970s and early 1980s, Tyler had a heavy drug and alcohol addiction, and the band's popularity waned. He completed drug rehabilitation in 1986 and subsequently maintained sobriety for over 20 years but had a relapse with prescription painkillers in the late 2000s, for which he successfully received treatment in 2009. Ever since Aerosmith launched its comeback in the late 1980s and early 1990s with the albums Permanent Vacation, Pump, and Get a Grip, Tyler has remained a relevant rock icon and has embarked on several solo endeavors including guest appearances on other artists' music, film and TV roles (including as a judge on American Idol), authoring a bestselling book, and solo work (including a Top 40 hit single in 2011). However, he has continued to record music and perform with Aerosmith, after more than 43 years in the band. The band's latest album, Music from Another Dimension!, was released in November 2012.
Tyler is included among Rolling Stone's 100 Greatest Singers. He was ranked 3rd on Hit Parader's Top 100 Metal Vocalists of All Time. In 2001, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with Aerosmith, and in 2013, Tyler and his songwriting partner Joe Perry received the ASCAP Founders Award and were inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame.

The International Lenin Peace Prize was the Soviet Union's award named in honor of Vladimir Lenin. It was awarded by a panel appointed by the Soviet government, to notable individuals whom the panel indicated had "strengthened peace among comrades". It was founded as the International Stalin Prize for Strengthening Peace Among Peoples, but was renamed the International Lenin Prize for Strengthening Peace Among Peoples as a result of destalinization. Unlike the Nobel Prize, the Lenin Peace Prize was usually awarded to several people a year rather than to just one individual. The prize was mainly awarded to prominent Communists and supporters of the Soviet Union who were not Soviet citizens. Notable recipients include: W. E. B. Du Bois, Fidel Castro, Salvador Allende, Sean MacBride, Angela Davis, Pablo Picasso, and Nelson Mandela.

TBA
In a Q&A; with UN Goodwill Ambassador and actress Emma Watson yesterday, Malala Yousafzai admitted she only began defining herself as a feminist after hearing the actress’s now famous HeForShe address.
Watson was interviewing Malala at the Into Film festival to promote the Nobel Peace Prize winner’s new documentary He Called Me Malala.
Watson described the interview on her Facebook page, saying Malala was “giving, utterly graceful, compelling and intelligent”.
“That might sound obvious but I was struck by this even more in person,” she wrote.
“She has the strength of her convictions coupled with the kind of determination I rarely encounter... And it doesn't seem to have been diminished by the success she has already had.”
Watson said on Facebook she had originally planned to ask Malala if she was a feminist, but after researching her past interviews and finding she had never identified herself as such, decided to take the question out of her list.
Then Malala surprised her by addressing the issue during their chat without provocation.
“This word feminism, it has been a very tricky word and when I heard it the first time I heard some negative responses and some positive ones and I hesitated in saying, ‘Am I feminist or not?’” Malala admitted.
“Then after hearing your speech where you said ‘If not now, when? If not me, who?’ I decided there’s nothing wrong with calling yourself a feminist,” she continued, referencing Watson’s infamous HeForShe UN address from September 21 last year.
“So I am a feminist, and we should all be feminists because feminism is another word for equality.”
Watson, clearly touched by the words and clutching her heart, told Malala she was “so moved to hear that”.
On Facebook Watson elaborated on the topic, claiming to be constantly learning about feminism herself.
“I've spoken before on what (a) controversial word feminism is currently,” she wrote.
“More recently, I am learning what a factionalized movement it is too. We are all moving towards the same goal.
“Let's not make it scary to say you're a feminist. I want to make it a welcoming and inclusive movement. Let's join our hands and move together so we can make real change.
“Malala and I are pretty serious about it but we need you.”

At the Into Film Festival's screening of He Called Me Malala, actress, "He For She" ambassador and all-round wonderful woman Emma Watson spoke with Malala Yousafzai, the documentary's eponymous education advocate who cites Watson's inspirational UN speech as the catalyst for her own feminism.LONDON — Feminism is a hot topic and rightly so. Slowly but surely, more people of note are coming out of the woodwork, identifying as feminists and bringing the movement to wider public attention.
Yousafzai is the subject of the documentary He Named Me Malala, which looks at the events leading up to a Taliban attack on the Pakistani schoolgirl and Yousafzai’s subsequent advocacy in the aftermath.
Watson says that the most profound moment was when Yousafzai identified herself as a feminist, saying that she was surprised to hear the Yousafzai use the hot-button word.
“I think this gesture is so emblematic of what Malala and I went on to discuss. I’ve spoken before on what a controversial word feminism is currently,” Watson wrote on Facebook. “I want to make it a welcoming and inclusive movement. Let’s join our hands and move together so we can make real change. Malala and I are pretty serious about it but we need you.”
Watson shared a video of the interview to her Facebook page, saying, "Perhaps the most moving moment of today for me was when Malala addressed the issue of feminism.
"To give you some background, I had initially planned to ask Malala whether or not she was a feminist but then researched to see whether she had used this word to describe herself. Having seen that she hadn’t," Watson goes on to say, "I decided to take the question out before the day of our interview. To my utter shock Malala put the question back into one of her own answers and identified herself.
"Maybe feminist isn't the easiest word to use..." Watson says, "but she did it ANYWAY."
In response to a question about men's role in feminism, Yousafzai discusses the positive impact her father has had on her life and understanding of gender equality. But, Yousafzai says, "this word 'feminism' has been a very tricky word."
"When I heard it the first time, I heard some negative responses and some positive ones," she continues. "I hesitated in saying am I a feminist or not and then after hearing your [Watson's] speech, when you said 'If not now, when? If not me, who?' I decided that there's nothing wrong by calling yourself a feminist. So I am a feminist, and we all should be feminists because feminism is another word for equality."

"Today I met Malala. She was giving, utterly graceful, compelling and intelligent. That might sound obvious but I was struck by this even more in person. There are lots of NGOs out there in the world doing great things... But if there were one I would put my money on to succeed and make change on this planet, it would be hers. (The Malala Fund). Malala isn't messing around or mincing her words (one of the many reasons I love her). She has the strength of her convictions coupled with the kind of determination I rarely encounter... And it doesn't seem to have been diminished by the success she has already had. And lastly…She has a sense of zen/calm/peace (please insert your word here) around her. I leave this for last because it is perhaps the most important. Maybe as a result of what she has been through? I personally think it is just who she is…

"The Better Angels of Our Nature: Why Violence Has Declined" is a 2011 book by Steven Pinker, arguing that violence in the world has declined both in the long run and in the short. The phrase "the better angels of our nature" stems from US President Lincoln's first inaugural address. Pinker uses the phrase as a metaphor for four human motivations that, he writes, can "orient us away from violence and towards cooperation and altruism," namely: empathy, self-control, the "moral sense," and reason.
