A scalpel, or lancet, is a small and extremely sharp bladed instrument used for surgery, anatomical dissection, and various arts and crafts (called a hobby knife). Scalpels may be single-use disposable or re-usable. Re-usable scalpels can have permanently attached blades that can be sharpened or, more commonly, removable single-use blades. Disposable scalpels usually have a plastic handle with an extensible blade (like a utility knife) and are used once, then the entire instrument discarded. Scalpel blades are usually individually packed in sterile pouches but are also offered non-sterile. Double-edged scalpels are referred to as "lancets".
Scalpel blades are usually made of hardened and tempered steel, stainless steel, or high carbon steel; in addition, titanium, ceramic, diamond and even obsidian knives are not uncommon. For example, when performing surgery under MRI guidance, steel blades are unusable (the blades would be drawn to the magnets, or may cause image artifacts). Historically, the preferred material for surgical scalpels was silver, on account of its antimicrobial properties (although the mechanics were not understood at the time). Scalpel blades are also offered by select manufacturers with a zirconium nitride-coated edge to improve sharpness and edge retention. Others manufacture blades that are polymer coated to enhance lubricity during a cut. Alternatives to scalpels in surgical applications include electrocautery and lasers.

Wow, I got really good at opening scalpel blade packets! These are carbon steel but as the specific metal is unknown it is unlikely we got maximum performance out of the heat treatment applied. Lots of fun and I've already got designs on scalpel blade knife number 4. Muahahahaha! "How many times did you cut yourself?" - None believe it or not! The #11 blade is most often used to make stab incisions. It is held like a pencil and is often held upside down. If the wound needs to be extended, the scalpel is moved in a sawing motion. The blade has a back bevel which may be placed against a guide, such as the guidewire used in central venous catheterization, to ensure accurate placement of a stab incision. The #11 blade is extremely sharp and may inadvertently be passed too deep. To prevent this, the hand may be stabilized with the heel of the hand on the skin, preventing undue advance of the scalpel.
4/18/2014 - I thought I had Updated this but I guess not I had trouble accessing the account. I went to the Mayo Clinic in November of 2012 and was introduced to a infusion treatment called remicaid and it has really helped heal quite a bit. the spots only come and go and the hair is somewhat growing back. It no where near hurts like it use to and i believe the doctors name was Dr. Rochelle Torgenson I had to go through three of these treatments in Rochester which thankfully was only 4 hours away and the treatments were painless. Sorry for the lack of updates everybody I do not have internet access at my home. Another Medical Appointment, on the 14th. The puss has been going now non stop 24-7 but has a hard time coming out which makes it feel like a large area of a puss bubble of the sor...
A short video demonstrating the skills of a podiatrist in the safe and quick removal of hard skin from a patient's heels. The Ped-Egg and the Scholl Pedi Velvet Smooth claim to be able to easily remove hard skin, but a patient who has really thick callus, hyperkeratosis, these devises will not effectively do the job as well as a scalpel. Please don't try this at home, but book in with a qualified podiatrist.
We are in love with scalpel blades at the moment. The fascinatingly sharp and inexpensive scalpels cut through tissue like through butter - very dangerous. Many fans expressed their preference for Karambits when it comes to "mean blades" - so we combined both elements and built two scalpel karambit knives! The video also shows how to flick open large, heavy pocket knives. A "The Slingshot Channel" production.
The #10 blade is commonly used for large, straight incisions. It is held like a violin bow, allowing the most efficient use of largest cutting surface of the blade. This also allows the surgeon to modulate the depth of incision by feel as well as by vision. Finally, this grasp encourages straight incisions, as the arm moves as a unit from the shoulder. When making a skin incision, it is best to use one smooth stroke, rather than multiple small strokes, causing less trauma to the tissue. The scalpel should be perpendicular to the skin and equal tension should be applied to both edges of the skin to prevent beveling of the skin edges.

Spit all the pain out, slit your own throat
Watch catharsis coming nearer, fading slowly away
Get tranquill and silent, everything is passing by
So much went wrong (loosing faith)
The time has come (loosing hope)
Nothing more to say (poor individual)
Age won't come (the mind is tired)
Open fearful your bright eyes, still the heart is cold as stone
Still the hole is open, it will never be closed again
So easy to hurt a kid, the soul is broken, unrepairable
The mechanoid is out of order
No chance to move the extremeties
Speech turns into fragments of words
Burning down a mothers heart (if not silent)
The ears won't hear joy anymore
The fingers will just tough poisoned thorns
The mouth just spitting out fear
The eyes just seeing red
Only one possibility left
Living in this world of plagues no more
Just a child's suicide
