The "Israel Space Agency" is a governmental body, a part of Israel's Ministry of Science and Technology, that coordinates all Israeli space research programs with scientific and commercial goals.
The agency was founded by the theoretical physicist Professor Yuval Ne'eman in 1983 to replace the National Committee for Space Research which was established in 1960 to set up the infrastructure required for space missions. The agency is currently headed by Professor Isaac Ben Israel as Chairman and Menachem Kidron as Director General.
Today, Israel is the smallest country with indigenous launch capabilities.
The Israel Space Agency has history dating back to the late 1950s.
The Israeli Space Agency originated as university-based research project from Tel-Aviv University in the early 1960s. In 1960, the "National Committee for Space Research" was formed by the Israel Academy of Sciences and Humanities. The committee was formed to increase research activities across the academic communities in Israel. While at the time, establishing a space program was not particularly one of its goals, during the '60s through the late '70s, the committee developed the infrastructure needed for research and development in space exploration and sciences. One of the NCSR's earliest achievements took place in 1961 with the launch of its first two-stage rocket.
Following the political tension by Egypt and Syria, reconnaissance flights became evermore difficult. In 1979, a satellite program was proposed followed by a year of feasibility study. The study was completed by late 1980; Saguy requested from prime minister Menachem Begin that the project proceed to its next phase. In 1982, a new recommendation called "Ofeq Program" was submitted for developing an observation satellite. The program included timelines, planning for a ground station, budget estimates, and personnel requirements. The primary goals was to develop a satellite program without relying on any foreign know-how, to allow flexibility and creativity. The launcher would be developed by Malam, the two engines by the Israel Military Industries , and the third by Rafael.

"Noah Brosch" is an Israeli astronomer, astrophysicist and space researcher.
Noah Brosch was born in Bucharest in 1948 and immigrated with his family to Israel in 1963.
Brosch studied at Tel Aviv University and at the Leiden University .
He is a tenured Principal Research Associate at Tel Aviv University and served as Director of the Wise Observatory from 2000 to 2006 and again from 2007 to 2010. He is a member of the International Astronomical Union and from 2009 to 2012 served as the Vice-President of its Division XI of the IAU.
Noah Brosch has been active in the field of space ultraviolet astronomy, as one of the founding members of the Network for Ultraviolet Astrophysics , a pan-European network set-up to identify the needs of the astronomical community in the UV spectral domain and eventually propose actions to structure it around new projects.
Brosch was the Principal Investigator of the TAUVEX space telescope array from 1989 to 2011. TAUVEX was intended to study the ultraviolet sky in spectral bands not observable from the ground by using three co-aligned telescopes, each imaging the same one-degree wide sky region. Because of these innovative aspects, TAUVEX was selected in 1988 by the Israel Space Agency as its first priority experiment to be launched in space, but its promised satellite and launcher never materialized. The TAUVEX project was cancelled by ISA after attempts to launch it as an associated payload on the Spektr-RG platform between 1991 and 2000, then later from 2000 to 2010 on the Indian GSAT-4 spacecraft, failed for various reasons.

Russian Foreign Minister Igor Ivanov on Monday visited the US embassy in Moscow to express his deep condolences over the loss of the US space shuttle Columbia and its seven-member crew.
Ivanov signed a condolence book and talked to the US ambassador to Russia, Alexander Vershbow.
Ordinary Muscovites also continued to express their support and sympathy over the tragedy.
Many placed flowers and left notes outside the American and Israeli embassies.
Saturday's Columbia disaster threw the future of manned space missions in doubt.
Russian officials warned the disaster may put Moscow's cash-strapped space programme under pressure to deliver crews to the international space station.
Space officials did say that Russia would stop sending crews and paying tourists on short visits to the international space station for an unspecified period of time in the wake of the shuttle Columbia disaster.
In the past, US shuttles have ferried long-term crews to the 16-nation space station, while Russian rockets have carried visiting crews in fresh Soyuz craft that they leave behind as emergency escape vehicles.
But with the shuttle programme grounded during the investigation into Saturday's disaster, the head of Russia's manned space programme said the shorter missions must also be put on hold, the Interfax news agency reported.
Officials have said Russia currently has only two Soyuz capsules that are ready for flight.
A spokesman for the Russian space agency Rosaviakosmos on Sunday said that Russia would have to consider whether to use one to send a short-term crew to the station in April, as planned.

The Israeli defense force conducted a successful test of the Arrow 3 Anti ballistic missile defense system. The Arrow 3 or Hetz 3 (Hebrew: חֵץ 3, pronounced [ˈχet͡s]) is an anti-ballistic missile, jointly funded and developed by Israel. Undertaken by Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) and Boeing, it is overseen by the Israeli Ministry of Defense's "Homa" (Hebrew: חומה, pronounced [χoma], "rampart") administration and the U.S. Missile Defense Agency. It will provide exo-atmospheric interception of ballistic missiles.
According to numerous Israeli experts, it is also possible that the Arrow 3 could serve as an anti-satellite weapon.
Background[edit]
Main article: Arrow (Israeli missile) § Background
By August 2008 the United States and Israeli governments have initiated development of an upper-tier component to the Israeli Air Defense Command, known as Arrow 3, "with a kill ratio of around 99 percent".[1] The development is based on an architecture definition study conducted in 2006–2007, determining the need for the upper-tier component to be integrated into Israel's ballistic missile defense system. According to Arieh Herzog, then Director of Israel Missile Defense Organization (IMDO), the main element of this upper tier will be an exoatmospheric interceptor, to be jointly developed by IAI and Boeing.[2] Lieutenant General Patrick J. O'Reilly, Director of the Missile Defense Agency, said:
“ The design of Arrow 3 promises to be an extremely capable system, more advanced than what we have ever attempted in the U.S. with our programs. [...] This has to do with the seekers that have greater flexibility and other aspects, such as propulsion systems – it will be an extremely capable system.[2] ”
The new component will also require the integration of longer range detection, tracking and discrimination capability, beyond what the "Green Pine" and "Super Green Pine" radars employed with the Arrow 2 are providing. Among the advanced sensors considered for Israel's future multi-tier system, are airborne electro-optical sensors deployed on high flying unmanned aerial vehicles and future enhanced "Green Pine" radars, as well as the AN/TPY-2 radar already deployed in Israel, and operated by U.S. forces.[2][3]
The multi-billion dollar development program of the Arrow is undertaken in Israel with the financial support of the United States.

Development
IAI began preliminary tests of the Arrow 3 in 2011. The company will not specify what tests were performed, but they are part of the preparations for a full fly-out test.[5] On January 23, 2012 the Israeli Ministry of Defense released photographs and video of the recent successfully fly-out tests from Palmachim Airbase. During the tests, a model of the interceptor missile was launched in order to check the starting and propulsion system, as well as other tracking sensors.[6]
On January 23, 2012 IAI announced an agreement to jointly work on the Arrow 3 with Boeing.[7] Boeing is responsible for 40-50 percent of the production content of the Arrow 3. Expected work content includes motorcases, shroud, canister, safe & arm / ignition devices, power devices (batteries), and inertial navigation units, as well as several avionics packages and actuators & valves.[8]
On February 25, 2013 a fly-out test of the Arrow 3 was conducted from Palmachim Airbase. The launch tested the missile control and engines. According to a senior defense source, the missile obtained hypersonic speed, and reached an altitude of 100 km (62 mi), entering space. It followed various objects, such as stars, and gained further altitude. Its engine stopped after six minutes.[9][10]
On January 3, 2014 another successful test of the Arrow 3 was conducted from Palmachim Airbase. During the test the interceptor entered space and carried out a range of maneuvers in response to a virtual incoming enemy missile. The test involved the activation of two of the interceptor's engines, the first of which brought it into space, and the second allowing it to carry out complex maneuvers.[11]
On December 2014 a test aimed to debut an exo-atmospheric intercept capabilities of Arrow 3 has been characterized as a "no test", given that "conditions did not allow for" actual launch of the intercepting missile.
Specifications
Israel Aerospace Industries announced in June 2009, that the Arrow 3 patented[13] exoatmospheric interception method includes a two-stage interceptor, like the Arrow 2, but purely based on hit-to-kill technology.[14] Unlike most kill vehicles, which use liquid or gas propulsion, the new Israeli kill vehicle will be propelled by an ordinary rocket motor equipped with a thrust-vectoring nozzle.[3] It will also be fitted with a gimbaled seeker for hemispheric coverage.

U.S. contributions to Arrow 3 program by fiscal year. Figures in millions of U.S. dollars.

When you think of traveling to Israel visiting religious sites in Jerusalem or basing yourself in Tel Aviv may initially come to mind. However, when exploring Israel it is paramount to set aside enough time to get off the beaten path and explore more of the country. Fortunately, for us, we were able to make two separate trips to Israel experiencing as much food, culture, historical and modern attractions as we possibly could.
The following is a list of things to do in Israel with a focus on the top attractions in this travel guide:
1) Regardless of whether you can swim (or not swim) well you will most certainly float when visiting the Dead Sea. Covering yourself in gooey mud and joining others floating is one of the top attractions in Israel.
2) No trip to Israel would be complete without sampling the local cuisine and especially the street food. With this in mind we walked all the way from our hotel room in Tel Aviv to Jaffa - an ancient city renowned for its amazing hummus and other street food. Aside from just hummus we were able to try Shaksouka, cheese stuffed pastries, malabi and kanafeh.
3) Having the opportunity to take a tour of the West Bank (or Palestine) is an eye opening experience. Media coverage, from the perspective of the west, often depicts this area as being quite unruly and poor; however, a tour there really dispels a lot of myths. We had the opportunity to eat falafel, walking around the streets and get a real sense of what life is like in this region. Some highlights included visiting Sheppard's Field, the Jordan River and oldest city in the world - Jericho. To end our trip we drank beer at the West Bank Palestinian brewery.
4) Getting off the beaten track a little we visited Rosh Hanikra. Known as the window to the Mediterranean we were treated to breathtaking views and an amazing sunset.
5) Aside from just eating our way around Jaffa, we took the time to properly explore it on foot. One of the top highlights was visiting a traditional flea market,
6) Taking the cable car up to visit Masada was a welcome relief considering how hot it was on the day we visited. As we wandered about we visited an old water cistern and Byzantine church. From our vantage point we had amazingly unobstructed views of the Dead Sea.
7) Caesarea! The ruins of the ancient city once given from Agus Caesar to Harrod the Great was an experience we'll never forget. Walking around in the Hippodrome allowed me to visualize what the old chariot races must have been like.
8) One of my favorite meals in Israel was prepared by a Druze family. This amazing feast, in the form of a buffet, featured kebabs, olives, chicken and stuffed cabbage just to name a few.
9) Wondering wear to rest your sleepy head while traveling in Israel? Look no further than the Fauzi Azar Inn in Nazareth. This converted Arab Mansion offers a charming stay. Best of all is that free cake and coffee is available throughout the day and the buffet breakfast is amazing.
10) One of the more frontier attractions was visiting Golan Heights and the Sea of Galilee. We toured around the Banias Reserve and Mount Bental.
11) Considering how tasty the food is in Israel it would be a shame to leave without knowing how to recreate these delectable delights back home in your own kitchen. Fortunately, for us, we were able to take a cooking class at Dan Gourmet in Tel Aviv. We learned how to make Lahmacun and charred eggplant amongst other dishes.
12) Have you ever wondered how olive oil is made? Visiting an olive press answered our all of our questions and made us appreciate the craft of making this high quality cooking oil. For the best vantage point of Nazareth we headed to Mount Precipice for panoramic 360 degree views. Finally, we visited Haifa to check out the famous Bahá'í gardens.

Where do people act as if insecurity were an unknown word ? Or as if the dangers of war were unimportant ? On the beach at Tel Aviv… Here, whatever happens, even just 48 hours after fighting breaks out with Lebanon, (in September 2006, when we filmed there), Tel Aviv proudly presents itself and its thirties architecture as a modern city, refusing to bear the weight of the past, where Jews and Muslims prefer to cohabit in an intelligent manner. And so the Tel Aviv beach is a place for partying, relaxing and flirting, every minute of the day, as if defying the permanent threats that hang over the country.

A video where I talk about some things to consider while being a tourist in Israel, including: what to do in case of a missile attack, tips for tourist, dealing with the obvious military presence, street harassment, etc.
Before leaving for South Korea to go teach English, I decided to visit my grandmother for two weeks to Ashdod, Israel, where she lives. It inspired me to make this video. I hope you enjoy it!
This video is late, here's my explanation why: http://stealthydani.tumblr.com/post/109669386082/on-my-visit-to-israel

Israel Travel Video Guide, While the current State of Israel is a relatively new country founded in 1948, the Land of Israel has a long and often very complex history stretching back thousands of years to the very beginnings of human civilization. It has been invaded by virtually every Old World empire including the Persians, Romans, Ottomans and British. (Even the Mongols once raided cities on what is now Israeli soil.) It is also the birthplace of both Judaism and Christianity. Jerusalem is a sacred city for Muslims.
Israel has been inhabited for tens of thousands of years, with Neanderthal remains from the region dating back 50,000 years. Its strategic location serving as the gateway from Asia to Egypt and Africa had made Israel an ideal target for conquerors through the ages. The first nation to have influence was the great Egyptian civilization. Approximately 1000 B.C, an independent Judean Kingdom was set up under King Saul. The land lay to the south of Phoenicia. After intermittent civil war, the land was conquered by the Assyrians and Persians and in c. 330 BC by Alexander the Great. A newly independent Jewish state, ruled by the Maccabees, was conquered in 63 BC by the Romans. Around 30 CE, Jesus of Nazareth began his ministry in the Galilee.
Following a Jewish revolt against the Romans in 70 CE, the Israelites were expelled from Jerusalem by the Romans, creating a substantial Jewish diaspora throughout the world. However, many Israelites did remain in the Land of Israel outside Jerusalem for a few centuries, although persecution gradually eroded at whatever Israelites population was left in their homeland. The area was captured by Muslims in the 7th Century. In the middle ages, European Christians invaded in a period known as the Crusades and established a small kingdom, but after a few centuries were expelled. The land was then ruled for many years by different Muslim empires, culminating in the Ottoman Empire. Enjoy your Israel Travel Video Guide!

Jerusalem is located on a plateau in the Judean Mountains between the Mediterranean and the Dead Sea, is one of the oldest cities in the world. It is considered holy to the three major Abrahamic religions - Judaism, Christianity and Islam.
During its long history, Jerusalem has been destroyed twice, besieged 23 times, attacked 52 times, and captured and recaptured 44 times. The oldest part of the city was settled in the 4th millennium BCE. In 1538, walls were built around Jerusalem under Suleiman the Magnificent. Today those walls define the Old City, which has been traditionally divided into four quarters - known since the early 19th century as the Armenian, Christian, Jewish, and Muslim Quarters. The Old City became a World Heritage site in 1981. Modern Jerusalem has grown far beyond the Old City's boundaries.
Simply wandering the streets of the Old City while capturing the ambiance, historical sites, smells and different people will leave you with unforgettable experiences and a lifetime of amazing memories. Every person should visit Jerusalem at least once. I shall never forget my visits there. Neither will you!

It is one of the main entities in the Israeli Intelligence Community, along with Aman (military intelligence) and Shin Bet (internal security).
The Mossad is responsible for intelligence collection, covert operations, and counterterrorism, as well as bringing Jews to Israel from countries where official Aliyah agencies are forbidden, and protecting Jewish communities. Its director reports directly to the Prime Minister.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Israeli_intelligence
The Directorate of Military Intelligence (Hebrew: אגף המודיעין, Agaf HaModi'in -- lit. "the Intelligence Section", often abbreviated to Aman) is the central, overarching military intelligence body of the Israel Defense Forces. Aman was created in 1950, when the Intelligence Department was spun off from the IDF's General Staff (then, Agam: אג"ם); the Intelligence Department itself was composed largely of former members of the Haganah Intelligence Service (HIS). Aman is an independent service, and not part of the ground forces, navy or the Israeli Air Force.
It is one of the main entities in the Israeli Intelligence Community, along with Mossad (national intelligence) and Shin Bet (general security). It is currently headed by Major General Aviv Kochavi. It has a staff of 7,000 personnel (1996 estimate). Its special forces and field-reconnaissance unit is Sayeret Matkal.

Sherut haBitachon haKlali (Hebrew: שירות הביטחון הכללי, General Security Service), better known by the acronym Shabak (Hebrew: שב״כ, IPA: [ʃaˈbak], Arabic: شاباك), in English as the Israel Security Agency (ISA) or the Shin Bet (a two-letter Hebrew abbreviation of the name), is Israel's internal security service. Its motto is "Magen VeLo Yera'e" (Hebrew: מגן ולא יראה, lit. "Defender that shall not be seen" or "The unseen shield"). It is one of three principal organizations of the Israeli Intelligence Community, alongside Aman (military intelligence) and the Mossad (foreign intelligence service). Shin Bet's special operations unit is Yamas.

ISIS, Iran, Saudi Arabia, and the connections between the CIA and Israel with the so-called enemies of America are exposed in an uncensored interview with Wayne Madsen. The former NSA worker, turned whistleblower and muckraker discusses the kabal of conspiracy that includes the Saudis, key figures in the US government, and stretches from the Bilderbergs to Rhodes Scholars in a web of influence that has spun country after country into turmoil. Are ISIS fighters just misguided and gullible proxy mercenaries for the Saudis? Was 9/11 another black op in a long line that has been the norm since WWII with the British government? Learn of the far reaching conspiracy in this Buzzsaw, hosted by Sean Stone.

In her final days as Commander of the International Space Station, Sunita Williams of NASA recorded an extensive tour of the orbital laboratory and downlinked the video on Nov. 18, just hours before she, cosmonaut Yuri Malenchenko and Flight Engineer Aki Hoshide of the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency departed in their Soyuz TMA-05M spacecraft for a landing on the steppe of Kazakhstan. The tour includes scenes of each of the station's modules and research facilities with a running narrative by Williams of the work that has taken place and which is ongoing aboard the orbital outpost.
Most of the modules in the International Space Station have four sides and they're put together that way so the people can work on a flat plane; wall, floor, another wall, or the ceiling. All you have to do is turn yourself around and your reference changes. People always ask about sleeping in space. Do you lie down? Not really, because it doesn't matter. You don't have the sensation of lying down, so you just sit in your sleeping bag.
The sleeping stations are like phone booths, but pretty comfy and you can sleep in any orientation in them. Astronauts don't have any sensation that tells them that they're upside down. In the same time sleeping booths are small offices with a laptops, toys, books, and clothes in them.
One of the things that astronauts also do is exercise. They need to exercise because they lose bone density and muscle mass while they're up there, and that's a result of not having to fight against gravity. They keep themselves in a shape with a bike, treadmill and a weight lifting machine. The bike doesn't have a seat, because the astronauts don't sit down. They actually haven't sat down for six months.
The bike is not firmly attached to the wall because if they start putting forces on the space station it's going to make the solar panels bounce around a little bit. So to prevent that, the machines in the space station bounce around a little bit and that way they don't put any forces onto the structure of the spacecraft and out to the solar panels.
There is also a module where everybody meets in the morning. After you wash your face, and brush your teeth, you want to find something for breakfast. There are all sorts of foods in the kitchen module: drinks, meat, eggs, vegetables, cereals, bread, snacks, side dishes, and some power bars. Some of this food is dehydrated, some of it is readymade.
There are spacesuits ready and primed up to go outside (the astronauts call it space walking) in case they need to do anything outside of the space station. Most of the things they do outside are repairs. There are lot of electrical boxes and machinery that are outside and sometimes they don't work quite right because the space is actually extremely cold vacuum.
The spacesuits are pretty big and part of the reason they're so big and bulky is because of their backside. The backpack and the suit weigh about 136 kilograms. Luckily in space nothing really weighs anything so you don't feel the weight.

Is The Jewish Calendar Wrong !? - Feast of Trumpets after Fall Equinox - "The Hidden Day"
We ALL assumed that the fall feasts were accurately calculated. When we did NOT sight the New Moon for the beginning of the month, we waited and the new moon was sighted two days later.
We continued through the Feasts focused on the Day of Atonement never questioning whether we were a MONTH EARLY based on the biblical method of determining the beginning of the New Year.
This presentation is by William Allen.
The modern Jewish calendar may be wrong. This video by Bobby Regan shows how the old testament Jews observed the Feast of the Lord by using the vernal & autumnal equinoxes as guides to know when a given feast should begin. Speculation is made based on this theory that the fall feast of the Lord were observed a full month too early for 2015 and this would also include this years Shemitah Day stock market crash as noted below:

COULD GOD BE MORE ABOUT MATHEMATICAL SYMMETRY than He is about dates on the modern (pre-calculated) Jewish calendar?
Consider the following:
Shemitah collapse #1: September 17, 2001 (Elul 29).
Shemitah collapse #2: September 29, 2008 (Elul 29).
Note: there are exactly 2,570 days separating these two collapses.
What happens if we add 2,570 days to the most recent, 2008, collapse?
We arrive at October 13th, 2015.
What is the significance of October 13th, 2015?
Author of Ancient Messianic Festivals, Ken Johnson, writes:
“The easiest way to verify when the REAL festivals and future prophecies will occur is to memorize the dates of the spring and fall equinoxes…. The first new moon following the fall equinox will be… [the Feast of Trumpets].” (p. 12)
The first new moon following the fall equinox in 2015 is October 13th-14th, the date(s) that, according to Johnson, would represent the “real” Feast of Trumpets.
IT GETS EVEN MORE INTERESTING.
The Book of Daniel states:
“From the issuing of a decree to restore and rebuild Jerusalem until Messiah the Prince there will be seven sevens…” (Daniel 9:25 NASB).
What happens if we subtract Daniel’s “seven sevens” (equivalent to 17,640 days) from the October 13th-14th date?
We arrive at June 27th-28th, 1967, the date the Israeli government issued an official “decree” recognizing Jerusalem as the restored capital of Israel.
