I highly recommend this Kolumbo Travel Umbrella currently sold on Amazon.com at the product page link of http://www.amazon.com//dp/B017PGJLDS. I am one of those people who goes through umbrellas like crazy, and it is not just due to misplacing them, leaving them in the back of a taxi or on a train. I am also a VICTIM, yes a VICTIM, of the laughing strong winds and inconspicuous faulty design. I have had numerous umbrellas suddenly raise their canvas in surrender to the rain and leave me with no protection. As I am battling with the metal spines and strange mechanisms of my umbrella, I discover broken pieces that are beyond repair. Toss another umbrella into the trash. You can understand my excitement when I read the description of the Kolumbo Travel Umbrella on Amazon.com, which stated it was the Ultraslim Windmaster and was wind tested up to 55 mph. I have thoroughly looked over and used the Kolumbo Travel Umbrella and give it a 5-star rating. This umbrella currently comes in three colors -- blue, red and pink. I ordered the pink one. It came placed inside a stylish cardboard box with the "Kolombo" logo printed on the outside. The box measured approximately 11.5" x 2.5" x 2.5". There were package inserts included with the umbrella and I have attached photos of these, which give product details and features AND manufacturer info, promise, philosophy and club membership discount information. This product is made in China. The manufacturer has a Minnesota (USA) address. Being that I appreciate a smaller travel umbrella so that it can easily fit into bags, large purses, backpacks, small to large suitcases, and be stashed on-hand in your car but not take up much space, I was excited to try this umbrella. It is about the size of a bottle of water. I find it to be exceptionally well constructed. When comparing it to other umbrellas I have in my home, the engineering and construction and components truly look different in design on the Kolumbo Travel Umbrella and to me they look more sturdy and better functioning. The Kolumbo umbrella rib with the rods and spines is made of fiberglass instead of metal. Even the tiny hardware on the Kolumbo umbrella looks exceptional. The canvas of the canopy of the umbrella is lightweight yet sturdy and the water just rolls off of it. The one button open and close is very easy to operate and the top canvas of the umbrella expands and collapses with no effort required on my part. When closing the umbrella, all i have to do after I push the button, is place my hand on top of the canvas area and press down so that the metal rod glides down to shorten and clicks into locking position with the handle. This one really opens and closes quickly -- I love that it does that. When opened the umbrella can comfortably accommodate two people beneath it. The handle of the umbrella has the button on it and it has a rubbery feel to it and is very easy to grasp and hold , and I believe it is more like a silicone material. Overall the umbrella is fairly lightweight. It is not as lightweight as smaller travel umbrellas I have which are cheaper made, but that is okay because my Kolumbo Travel Umbrella has sturdier components and opens and closes so easily. I just hate fighting with an umbrella to get it closed. I am so happy that my Kolumbo umbrella opens and closes with the push of a button. My Kolumbo umbrella easily rolls up back into storage position and is held secure by a strap that secures with velcro. The Kolumbo logo is on the fastening strap which is made of the same material as the canopy. There is also a sleeve to place the umbrella inside which is made of the same material as the canopy. Plus the handle has a wrist strap which also works well to hang up the umbrella near the door. I received this product at a discount in exchange for an honest review.
