Half past three, y'all
Left all them good ole presents
For my baby and for me, ha, ha, ha

Maybe I should have saved those leftover dreams
Funny but here's that rainy day
Here's that rainy day they told me about
And I laughed at the thought that it might turn out this way
Where's that worn out wish that I threw aside
After it brought my lover near
Oh, funny how love becomes a cold rainy day
Funny that rainy day is here
Where's that worn out wish that I threw aside
After it brought my lover near
Say, it's funny how love becomes a cold rainy day

Stand by Me" is a song originally performed by American singer-songwriter Ben E. King. It was written by King, Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller, inspired by the spiritual "Lord Stand by Me",[1] plus two lines rooted in Psalms 46:2–3. There have been over 400 recorded versions of the song. The song is featured on the soundtrack of the 1986 film Stand by Me.
According to the documentary History of Rock 'n' Roll, Ben E. King had no intention of recording the song himself when he wrote it.[2] King had written it for The Drifters, who passed on recording it. After the "Spanish Harlem" recording session, he had some studio time left over. The session's producers, Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller, asked if he had any more songs. King played "Stand by Me" on the piano for them. They liked it and called the studio musicians back in to record it.
Stoller recalls it differently:
I remember arriving at our office as Jerry and Ben were working on lyrics for a new song. King had the beginnings of a melody that he was singing a cappella. I went to the piano and worked up the harmonies, developing a bass pattern that became the signature of the song. Ben and Jerry quickly finished the lyrics

Recorded early in Bobby Darin's career, about 18 months after his 1959 album, THAT'S ALL, this live set finds the pop singer broadening his artistic scope, while consolidating his commercial appeal with a scattershot roster of songs that includes a creditable version of Ray Charles's "I Got a Woman," his classic swinging take on Brecht and Weill's darkly humorous "Mack the Knife," and a Sinatra-like medley of "By Myself" and "When Your Lover Has Gone." This being the early '60s, he was still performing his breakthrough hit, "Dream Lover," though at this point in his career an increasing musical sophistication was enabling him to also tackle more complex material, such as the world-weary "Love For Sale," with ease. Though his insouciant approach to the more ring-a-ding-ding material, like "Some of These Days," sounds a little forced, when he relaxes and lets the song take him, as on the ballad "I Have Dreamed," the results are nothing short of spectacular. Darin at the Copa is Bobby Darin's fourth album and third straight top-ten charting LP in the US. It debuted on 17 October 1960, peaked at number 9 and remained in the LP chart for 38 weeks. The album was recorded live at the Copacabana nightclub in New York.

Bobby Darin did make a studio recording of 'About a Quarter to Nine' (from the musical '42nd Street') in 1966, which remains unreleased to this date. As far as I know, there are two video recordings of this song performed live by Bobby: the first one from the 1966 London concert that was subsequently released on the album 'Something Special' (whose video recording is available as a bootleg), and the second one -shown here- from Bobby's own TV variety series, specifically from the 19th January 1973 programme of "The Bobby Darin Show".
No one can be more respectful towards Bobby Darin and his work than I am. I do not intend to infringe any copyright law, and if I have decided to upload this video is because I think it is a terrific performance by a terrific singer that is likely to turn any viewer into a Darin fan (if he or she wasn't so before!). The same is valid for any other Darin video on YouTube, for that matter. But I've found myself wishing this particular song were uploaded -so as to be able to have access to it from anywhere- so many times, that I've decided to upload it myself. And do a favour to many other people at the same time.

Throughout the 1960s, he became more politically active and worked on Robert Kennedy's Democratic presidential campaign. He was present on the night of June 4/5, 1968, at the Ambassador Hotel in Los Angeles at the time of Kennedy's assassination. The same year, he discovered that he had been brought up by his grandmother, not his mother, and that the girl he had thought to be his sister was actually his mother. These events deeply affected Darin and sent him into a long period of seclusion.

Bobby Darin made his name in the 1950's with such hits as 'Queen of the Hop' and 'Splish Splash' before branching out into Films in the 1960's. After that he recorded
intermittently and made personal appearances on tv. During his short career as a pop idol he demonstrated that he had the ability to take any material and transform it and make it distinctly Darinesque. A great talent who could have been so much more if he had lived to fulfil his full potential.

"Captain Newman, M.D."
IMDb Ratings: 7,0/10
Captain Newman, M.D. is a 1963 film starring Gregory Peck, Tony Curtis, Angie Dickinson, Robert Duvall, Eddie Albert and Bobby Darin. It was directed by David Miller and filmed on location at Fort Huachuca, Arizona.
The movie is based on the 1963 novel by Leo Rosten. It was loosely based on the World War II experiences of Rosten's close friend Ralph Greenson M.D., while Greenson was a Captain in the Army Medical Corps supporting the U.S. Army Air Forces and stationed at Yuma Army Airfield in Yuma, Arizona. Greenson is well known for his work on "empathy" and was one of the first in his field to seriously associate Post Traumatic Stress Disorder with wartime experiences. He was a director of the Los Angeles Psychoanalytic Institute and was a practicing Freudian. Greenson is perhaps best known for his patients, who included Marilyn Monroe, Frank Sinatra, Tony Curtis and Vivien Leigh.
Major filming took place at the U.S. Army's Fort Huachuca complex in southern Arizona, with the co-located Libby Army Airfield used to portray the fictional Colfax Army Air Field.
Plot
In 1944, Captain Josiah Newman (Peck) is head of the neuro-psychiatric Ward 7 of a fictional Colfax Army Air Field military hospital, located in the Arizona desert. As he explains to a visiting VIP who wanders in: "We're short of beds, doctors, orderlies, nurses, everything ... except patients." He will use unconventional tactics to treat his patients and to recruit much needed personnel, as when he hijacks a new and very reluctant orderly, Corporal Jackson Leibowitz (Curtis), a wheeler-dealer from New Jersey. Leibotwitz promptly has the entire ward participating in a sing-along of "Old MacDonald Had a Farm."
Newman also takes great pains to court nurse Lieutenant Francie Corum (Dickinson) on what she thinks is a date... until he asks her to transfer to Ward 7. Their 'date/fight' is cut short by a phone call: Colonel Bliss (Albert) has forced his way into Ward 7 looking for Dr. Newman with a 6-inch knife, because Newman blocked his return to active duty after witnessing Bliss' erratic behavior. After watching Newman's handling of this situation and other patients on the ward, Corum transfers in.
As Newman treats tragically shell-shocked, schizophrenic and catatonic patients, particularly the traumatized Corporal Jim Tompkins, an Eighth Air Force air gunner who symbolizes all of the post-traumatic stress disorder patients on the NP ward, he is hilariously bedeviled by 'old-school' base commander Col. Pyser (Gregory), who ultimately saddles him with a complement of injured Italian POWs because his is the only secure ward in the hospital. In addition, a flock of constantly straying sheep (kept for the medical lab) and a set of wise-ass, feuding orderlies keeps life interesting right up to Christmas.

Reprising Darin's standards from throughout his career, suggests that he more than succeeded. He racked up 22 US Top 40 singles in less than a decade and recorded some great classics that will continue to be played for years to come. Featured here are 100 of his very best songs.

Bobby Darin (born Walden Robert Cassotto; May 14, 1936 – December 20, 1973) was an American singer, songwriter, and actor of film and television. He performed in a range of music genres, including pop, rock'n'roll, folk, and country.
He started as a songwriter for Connie Francis, and recorded his own first million-seller "Splish Splash" in 1958. This was followed by "Dream Lover", "Mack the Knife", and "Beyond the Sea", which brought him world fame. In 1962, he won a Golden Globe for his first film Come September, co-starring his first wife, Sandra Dee.
Although he made a successful television comeback, his health was beginning to fail, as he had always expected, following bouts of rheumatic fever in childhood. This knowledge of his vulnerability had always spurred him on to exploit his musical talent while still young. He died at age 37, following a heart operation in Los Angeles.

Vanilla Fudge (1967) / Atco Records
"In a debut consisting of covers, nobody could accuse Vanilla Fudge of bad taste in their repertoire; with stoned-out, slowed-down versions of such then-recent classics as "Ticket to Ride," "Eleanor Rigby," and "People Get Ready," they were setting the bar rather high for themselves. Even the one suspect choice -- Sonny Bono's "Bang Bang" -- turns out to be rivaled only by Mott the Hoople's version of "Laugh at Me" in putting Bono's songwriting in the kindest possible light. Most of the tracks here share a common structure of a disjointed warm-up jam, a Hammond-heavy dirge of harmonized vocals at the center, and a final flat-out jam. Still, some succeed better than others: "You Keep Me Hanging On" has a wonderfully hammered-out drum part, and "She's Not There" boasts some truly groovy organ jams. While the pattern can sound repetitive today, each song still works as a time capsule of American psychedelia." /AllMusic review/

UPDATE ON MY CHANNEL! Those of you who have ALREADY subscribed know that I had several album of The Beatles uploaded on my channel. They have been copyrighted and are BLOCKED WORLDWIDE! I lost my previous computer with all the videos and no longer have access to those for any re-upload at this time. I have lost anyway of putting up Vinyl's currently. I was able to recover this old video of mine of an old Windows XP and will probably be my last for a while! To those who subscribed, Thank You! .....
Images and Words is the second studio album by American progressive metal/rock band Dream Theater, released on July 7, 1992 through Atco Records. It is the first Dream Theater release to feature James LaBrie on vocals. The album maintains its position as the band's most commercially successful studio album to date, and the song "Pull Me Under" has the distinction of being the only top 10 hit (radio or otherwise) the band has had to date. This particular song has also had more recent success as it has appeared in the 2008 video game Guitar Hero World Tour.
Although there is no title track on this album, the phrase "images and words" appears in the song "Wait for Sleep".
