Noriyuki Iwadare

Noriyuki Iwadare (岩垂 徳行, Iwadare Noriyuki, born on April 28, 1964) is a Japanese video game composer.

Biography

Noriyuki Iwadare was born in Matsumoto City, Nagano Prefecture, Japan. He began to compose video game music after years of being involved with university bands. The first award he won the Best Game Music award, the Mega Drive/Genesis category for Lunar: The Silver Star in 1991. He also won the Best Game Music award in the Sega Saturn Music category for Grandia in 1997 and in the Dreamcast category for Grandia 2 in 2000. Iwadare first composed music for Tokyo Disney Resort, in addition to Japanese dance programs, television programs, and radio programs. He dreams to have orchestral arrangements of his musical works, while he himself has done several times, as with the Gyakuten Meets Orchestra arrangements (orchestral arrangements of the Ace Attorney series music).

He was a special guest at the 11th French Japan Expo that was held on July 2010 in Paris, France.

Silver Star

The Silver Star, officially the Silver Star Medal, is the third-highest military decoration for valor awarded to members of the United States Armed Forces. Any uniformed servicemember may receive the medal, which is awarded for gallantry in action against an enemy of the United States.

History

The Silver Star is the successor award to the "Citation Star" (³⁄₁₆ silver star) which was established by an Act of Congress on July 9, 1918. On July 19, 1932, the Secretary of War approved the conversion of the "Citation Star" to the Silver Star Medal. The original "Citation Star" is incorporated into the center of the medal.

Authorization for the Silver Star Medal was placed into law by an Act of Congress for the U.S. Navy on August 7, 1942 and an Act of Congress for the U.S. Army on December 15, 1942. The current statutory authorization for the medal is Title 10 of the United States Code, 10 U.S.C. § 3746 for the U.S. Army, 10 U.S.C. § 8746 for the U.S. Air Force, and 10 U.S.C. § 6244 for the U.S. Navy.

Japan Expo

Japan Expo is a convention on Japanese popular culture - the largest of its kind in the world outside Japan - taking place in Paris, France, although it has branched out into a partnership festival Kultima and expanded to include some European and US pop culture as well. It is held yearly in the beginning of July, for four days (usually from Thursday to Sunday), in the Parc des Expositions de Villepinte (second-largest convention center in France). The attendance has increased steadily over the years, with 3,200 visitors welcomed in the first edition in 1999 and around 248,000 for the 2015 edition.

History

Event history

The first exposition took place in 1999 at the Institut supérieur du commerce de Paris and welcomed 3,200 visitors, a number which has grown steadily. In 2002, Japan Expo was hosted at the Center of New Industries and Technologies (CNIT) in La Défense, Paris.

In 2005, the event was canceled out of security concerns due to the large amount of visitors. The exposition has since moved to the larger Parc d'Expositions in Paris-Nord Villepinte.
