The Golfe Du Morbihan is situated on the south coast of Brittany and protects the region from the strong currents of the Atlantic Ocean. It is a fascinating coastal landscape with huge castles and extensive sand dunes.Influential and wealthy ship owners once settled here. They ran the East India Trading Company that earned high taxes for the French monarchy. The present day harbor makes it difficult to believe that it was once a busy centre of trade with the distant Orient. The town’s well preserved buildings indicate its former wealth and ferryboats travel to the village on the opposite side of the Lorient, which still boasts a splendid array of huge warehouses. The megaliths of Carnac are stone relics that are 1,000 years old and date back to the middle of the Neolithic Period. Although they have been analysed by scientists, they are nonetheless full of mystique as four long avenues of mighty stone known as ‘Alignments’ extend across 8 kilometres of scenic terrain. The enchanting medieval city of Auray is situated on a bend of the Rivière d'Auray that flows into the Golfe Du Morbihan. The city has earned its place in the history books of Brittany. Here, two families once fought to rule this land and a battle decided which one!The attractive charm of the Brittany landscape owes much of its allure to its picturesque old stone houses and idyllic bays. The Golfe Du Morbihan, with its numerous islands both large and small, is a French paradise set along the rugged Atlantic coast.

It’s the only French department whose name, meaning “little sea”, comes from the Breton language. Although few residents still speak Breton, the traditional language has left its mark on geographic terms, town and city names, and first and last names of the Breton people.
The Morbihan is made up of 261 cities and towns, and there are many more villages and hamlets in between. Your experience will be different depending on whether you choose to live in one of the larger cities of the region or in a small town. As well, the Gulf of Morbihan is home to 42 islands.
Morbihan has a rich history, spanning thousands of years, that has left visible vestiges of the region’s inhabitants from the Stone Age to the Celts to the Romans to various groups coming from the British Isles and most recently from throughout France. Along with these multiple political influences has come a variety of architectural, linguistic and cultural inspirations.
The architecture of Morbihan’s cities offers numerous half-timbered medieval buildings, while the countryside brings numerous thatched-roof stone houses, reminders of British and Irish architecture. It’s also very well known for its Neolithic sites.
As for the music produced in Brittany, the Celtic roots are the most audible. In recent decades, traditional Celtic music and modern variations of this traditional style have seen a resurgence in popularity. Especially in summertime, on any given evening you rarely have to drive more than thirty minutes to find a Celtic music concert.
You’ll live like a king in Morbihan. A 4-bedroom, 3-level home with an enclosed yard in the center of Baden is only 600 euros per month. Baden is one of the more expensive towns you could choose in Morbihan.
Morbihan is a largely rural region of France that offers an excellent quality of life compared the cost of living. If you thrive on big city excitement and cosmopolitan offerings, this may not be the ideal spot for you. It’s tough to get around all but the larger cities without a car. Although the community is generally very accepting of foreigners, it will be difficult to feel as though you fully belong with such a small (in some towns non-existent) expat presence, at least if you are not proficient in French. But Morbihan is a fantastic base for anyone enamored with the outdoors: water sports, walking, cycling. You will have the benefits of living in France (safety, exceptional health care and infrastructure, a range of cultural options) without the costs of the capital city or other more touristic areas. Morbihan is a seafood lover’s paradise. It offers a unique blend of the French and Breton-brand Celtic cultures. The climate is mild. Morbihan may be an ideal retirement destination for French speakers who prefer a more relaxed lifestyle.

Travel video about destination Rhodes in Greece.
Rhodes is the largest island of the Dodecanese, a group of Greek islands located in the southeast of the Aegean Sea just off the west coast of Turkey. Since antiquity its unique location has brought it both power and wealth. On the northernmost tip of the island is the fascinating metropolis of Chora Rodos whose harbor entrance was once adorned by the Seventh Wonder of The World, the Colossus of Rhodes. But the legendary lighthouse has long since gone and today, excursion boats and yachts crowd the island’s former trading harbor that has a rich and dramatic past.Byzantines, Arabs, The Knights of the Order of St. John, Ottomans and Italians, each one influenced the ever-changing history of the island that was first settled in 400 B.C.At the city’s highest point is the huge palace of the Grand Master, the monumental junction of the Street of the Knights and the command post of the Christian order. The Grand Master was the highest dignitary of the Order of the Knights of Malta, a lifetime office. The Street of the Knights leads from the Palace of the Grand Master down the hill to the Hospital, a unique ensemble of Gothic medieval architecture set amid the Mediterranean. The main buildings of the various groups of knights were erected along the main street and it was here that the knights met and conferred according to their membership of various European regions.Rhodes is an island steeped in history as well as the calm lifestyle of the Mediterranean.

Travel video about destination Amsterdam in Holland.
Amsterdam is a captivating metropolis, a city of canals in which anything is allowed as long as it does no harm.
In 1567, the much-traveled Italian, Lodovico Guicciardini, referred to Amsterdam as 'The Venice of the North'. Today, the view across the main square and royal castle gives little hint that the city is supported by stakes and that Amsterdam is the largest lakeland village in the world.
The bicycle is one of the city's main features. Parking spaces have been designed specially for this mode of transport and it shows that even in a large city, there is an alternative way of getting about.
In the city centre, there are nearly 7,000 protected houses and warehouses, most of which date back to the 18th and 19th centuries. The 300 year old Magere Brug is of wood construction and is one of the most beautiful drawbridges in the world.
The Bloemenmarkt has been in existence since the 17th century and in bygone days, fresh flowers were delivered by boat and sold on board. Here a great variety of colorful tulips and bulbs is offered for sale, as well as many exotic plants and seeds.
New Church is almost 600 years old but due to it's lack of worshippers, it is now used as a venue for exhibitions and concerts which fund its continued maintenance. Built around 1300 A.D., Old Church is the oldest religious building in the city. During the Middle Ages, it served as a refuge for vagrants but today it is surrounded by a sex and entertainment district.
In 1682, the city fathers decided to create a leisure area east of the city, in the centre of which the Artis Zoo was subsequently established, the oldest zoo on the European continent.
Amsterdam possesses an inescapable charm that is adored by both aged hippies and trendy teenagers alike. It is Europe's irresistible 'Capital of Cool'!

Travel video about destination Berlin in Germany.
Berlin is Germany's modern capital city, a fascinating European metropolis with a dramatic history in which contemporary architecture merges with the imposing character of a centuries-old city.
The Nokolai Quarter was built by the DDR government as a sort of old town, a European Disneyland for the city's 750th anniversary, a popular area with 'new' medieval buildings that display various guilds and stone statues that surround the city's oldest church.
We travel to nearby Potsdam, a city of castles and gardens and with an old town that features a lively market atmosphere. When the monarchy settled there, so did their armies and with them came craftsmen, merchants and artists from many countries. The castle-like Nauener Tor leads to the Russian colony of Alexandrowka and then to Belvedere on the Pfingstberg.
Returning to Berlin we embark on a trip at the Eastern Train Station on the Panorama S-Bahn whose carriages are equipped with large panoramic windows and marvelous views turn the journey into a wonderful adventure.
The Olympia Stadium is still a gigantic and remarkable sight and for the 11th Olympic Games in 1936, the Third Reich spared no expense.
A new city has emerged from its historic past, Berlin, a young metropolis of the third millennium that is increasingly becoming the centre of Europe. This metropolis with a heart is always worth a visit!

Travel video about destination Carnac in France.
The megaliths of Carnac in Brittany are stone relics that are thousands of years old and date back to the middle of the Neolithic period. Four long avenues of mighty stone known as ‘alignments’ extend across eight kilometres of scenic terrain. The Kerzerho Stones are one of the most splendid alignments in Carnac. They consist of more than eleven hundred stones and cover an area of almost two kilometres. But what significance did this formation have with its Neolithic creators and how were they able to transport these massive stones? The stones will probably never reveal their secrets but many historians and archaeologists believe that they were connected with some kind of religious belief. The area around Carnac also contains numerous intriguing Dolmen, a series of vertical stones that support a large slab, a kind of stone table. Along the northern border of Plouharnel Village there is a fine example of this unique construction that dates back to the Stone Age, the Dolmen of Rondonssec. The large number of Dolmen indicates that the region was once not only of great astronomical importance but was also used as a burial site. It is not known who was buried here but they may have been tribal and religious leaders as well as those who had made an important contribution to the well-being of the tribe. For several centuries the tranquil and mysterious atmosphere of this place has fascinated all those who have experienced it. The megaliths of Carnac are masterpieces of prehistoric architecture and grand monuments that have survived time itself.

Travel video about destination Acropolis in Greece.
For more than 2500 years a landmark and symbol of one of the most influential European cultures, the Acropolis, has towered above the rooftops of Athens. It took nine years to build the great temple of the goddess Athene, known as The Parthenon, that was completed in 438 B.C. Unique among all other Greek temples, with its imposing appearance and artistic decoration, the Parthenon signified the great influence and power of ancient Athens. Just a few metres from the Athens Temple, the Acropolis Museum contains numerous outstanding archaeological treasures that have been discovered in this vicinity. The majority of the exhibits date back to the 5th and 6th centuries, a richly golden time in the culture of ancient Greece. Since 1878 the museum has exhibited several ancient sculptures of the Acropolis in addition to various well preserved sections of the Parthenon's magnificent frieze. Throughout the centuries the temples and buildings that are situated on Acropolis Rock have had an amazing influence on both artists and architects alike. The unique cultural value of these imposing ruins has once again become of vital significance in the home town of the Olympic Games. Thus, the ancient Acropolis will continue to be the 'Cradle of Occidental Culture' and will illuminate the night sky of Athens forever.

Travel video about destination Kathmandu Valley in Nepal.
Kathmandu is a melting pot of both race and religion, a metropolis in the heart of the Kingdom of Nepal, a country of snow-covered mountains inhabited by the gods.Kumari Chowk is the residence of the living goddess, Kumari. For this role a young girl is duly selected and is disallowed from leaving the palace until puberty. Her task is it to affirm the power of the king. Age old traditions are celebrated throughout the year such as the Festival Of The Children that symbolises fertility and sexuality. Patan is Nepal’s second largest city and has retained much of its original character due to its three hundred monasteries and temples. This beautiful former centre of one of the earliest three kingdoms contains the Hindu Kumbeshwara Pagoda one of the country’s oldest buildings dedicated to the god, Shiva. The tower-like Mahabuddha Temple is adorned with several terracotta figures and ornaments and is different to conventional Nepalese architecture. In earlier times the Kwa Bahal Monastery was the administrative centre of trade in Tibet. Its shining gilded copper plates soon gave it the name, The Golden Temple. Changu Narayan, the gem of Nepal, designated as a World Heritage Site by Unesco, is the oldest sanctuary in Kathmandu Valley. Situated 1,450 metres on a mountain north of Bhaktapur it is home to many skilful artists and wood carvers. Hidden in a canyon and located next to a mountain creek is the Dakshinkali Temple. Each year this sanctuary is visited by more than four hundred thousand pilgrims. This place of worship is dedicated to one of the mightiest goddesses of this region, the Southern Kali. The customs of the people in the Kingdom On The Roof Of The World may seem somewhat strange but this land of jungle and eternal snow has developed according to its own rich traditions and beliefs. Pure magic!
