Cartoonist is about how we normal humans connect small things happening in our lives, to the big, mammoth incidents or persons around us. Kaizaad, the central character, discovers a strange connection between his life and that of the most wanted man in the world, Osama Bin Laden. Being a newspaper cartoonist Kaizaad picks up the theme of his caricatures from his own life and connects it to the things happening in Osama's life. Amidst different
personal incidents he time and again proves to himself the strange connection he has discovered. Eventually at Osama's death there is an irreplaceable loss, a vacuum that is hard to fill. The whole story, written in non linear narrative jumping from first to third person P.O.V is a twenty minute memoir of the central character Kaizaad, the cartoonist over a span of a decade with his cartoon character, Osama, the terrorist.

Spiegelman also founded the comics magazine RAW. In 2005, he was named one of the 100 Most Influential People by Time magazine. After today’s broadcast on the Charlie Hebdo attack in Paris, we continued our discussion with Spiegelman to talk about his life’s work and the power of cartoons. Derek Diedricksen has loved tiny homes since he read Lester Walker’s “Tiny Tiny Houses” as a ten year old. It was the same year he built his first “non-fort tiny house” (complete with insulation, electricity, bunk beds), mowing lawns to raise the money for the two-by-fours.
Nearly three decades later and he’s still building and has turned his childhood passion into a career. He runs one of the original tiny house blogs (relaxshacks.com), has authored a graphic novel/ DIY instruction manual "Humble Homes, Simple Shacks, Cozy Cottages, Ramshackle Retreats, Funky Forts", hosts tiny house building workshops (his next is Nov 22-23 in Carolina Beach, NC), builds tiny shelters/treehouses for clients and even raps about the genre (e.g. in his music video Lollipop Fort of Death).
