Date: 27 October 2015 Long description: We had been following the Wild Dogs early that morning, hoping that we might catch them hunting. After a few hours of tracking, we found them resting under some Camel thorn trees, with no evidence of blood etc. We knew that if they didn't hunt that morning, the chances would be great for them to try in the afternoon. So we headed out early, while it was still hot and sat with the dogs for about 2 and a half hours before they started moving. Cover effortless yards across the Kalahari plains, they eventually set their sights on a Red Hartebeest. Following them off road, keeping an eye out for aardvark holes, we were lucky to gain some ground on them on a flat sandy surface and got there a few seconds before they took the Red Hartebeest down. We had to reverse several times as the Red Hartebeest wanted to use our vehicle for cover and safety. After about 15 min it was all over, the adults had killed the Red Hartebeest and by this stage called the puppies to join the feast.
