Dawn, Mission to the Asteroid Belt (HD) – Narrated by Leonard Nimoy
Produced in 2007, this overview video about NASA's Dawn mission to giant asteroid Vesta and dwarf planet Ceres was released before the spacecraft's launch that year. The mission greatly appreciated Leonard Nimoy's support and participation. Dawn investigated Vesta in 2011-2012, and will arrive at Ceres March 6, 2015. For more information about Dawn, visit http://dawn.jpl.nasa.gov/ .

Largest Body In The Asteroid Belt Advances - Mysterious Ceres
What are the mysterious lights on the Dwarf Planet Ceres? Is it signs of life? Life on the Dwarf planet Ceres? What do you think? Ceres appears to be differentiated into a rocky core and icy mantle, and may harbor a remnant internal ocean of liquid water under the layer of ice.[18][19] The surface is probably a mixture of water ice and various hydrated minerals such as carbonates and clay. The ambitious and exciting Dawn mission is one of NASA's most remarkable ventures into the solar system. After more than seven years of interplanetary spaceflight, the probe is just a few months away from the mysterious world Ceres. The spacecraft has already completed a spectacular exploration of Vesta. These were among the last uncharted worlds in the inner solar system prior to Dawn. They are the two most massive residents of the main asteroid belt, that vast collection of bodies between Mars and Jupiter. Ceres is so large that it is included in the category of dwarf planets, along with Pluto. The alien landscapes Dawn reveals provide humankind with a new perspective on the solar system. Remnants from the time that planets were formed, Ceres and Vesta hold clues that will help scientists understand the dawn of the solar system. Dawn orbited Vesta from July 2011 to September 2012 and returned astonishing views of this fascinating world. It is the only spaceship ever to orbit an object in the asteroid belt and is the first ever targeted to orbit any two extraterrestrial destinations. Such a mission would be truly impossible without the use of ion propulsion, a technology that has mostly been in the domain of science fiction. Dr. Marc Rayman will give a fascinating and entertaining presentation on the Dawn mission and its two exotic destinations as well as its use of ion propulsion. He also will share the excitement and profundity of controlling a robotic ambassador from Earth in deep space.

Asteroid Belt SICK Missions:
Collect SKATE – 0:08
Collect COMBO – 0:53
(Having the power up on this mission often causes your skater to stop grinding randomly. I would recommend not having the power up while going for the COMBO letters.)
Collect VHS – 1:11
Collect DVD – 1:26
Smash Crystals – 1:45
High Score Harbringer – 3:28
The SICK score on this mission is to get 5,000,000. The area you spawn in will be the best area to go for this SICK score. Use will need big combos to get up to 5,000,000 points. Make sure to utilize variety in your combo and your special to get the big points you will need.
Bigs! In! Space! – 5:18
The SICK time in this mission is 95 seconds. In this mission, you must perform combos in order to make your head shrink. The longer the mission goes on, the faster your head grows. You don’t need that big of combos to shrink your head, so at first, you can perform three or four trick combos. As time goes on, you should hold your combo until your head is around 70 or 80% full and then land the combo.
Galactic Grinder – 6:15
The SICK score for this mission is 10,000 points. You only get points when grinding in this mission, but you can do other tricks to add to your multiplier to get more points. This can easily be done by from where you spawn. Just combo flip tricks to get a big multiplier for your combo. Once you get a combo of at least 25, you can go as high as you feel comfortable, grind around the rim of the pool. You should easily be able to get it with this tactic.
Warp Speed Rings – 7:03
The SICK time in this mission is 40 seconds. This mission just requires you to go through all the rings in 40 seconds or less. You don’t need to go through them all in one combo, and they are set up in an easy line to follow. Just get to each ring in under 40 seconds and you’re good. The power up in this level often causes your grinds to randomly end seconds after you start, so this mission might take a while if the game doesn’t want to cooperate.
Extraterrestrial Egg Eradicator – 7:55
The SICK time in this mission is 80 seconds. This mission can be a bit tricky, and may take a couple of tries depending on how the eggs act. Try and group up the eggs and then hit the eggs from the outside of the group to try and hit multiple eggs out of the pool at the same time.
Pudding Pack Panic! – 9:13
The SICK score for this mission is 60 points. In this mission, you must collect 60 packs of pudding before the mission ends. Follow the line that I follow, and with some practice, you should be able to pull off the SICK score.
Baleful Bot Basher – 11:08
The SICK time for this mission is 25 seconds. In this mission, you must smash all the flying bots in 25 seconds or less. You don’t need to smash them all in one combo, and they are set up in an easy line to follow. Just smash each bot in under 25 seconds and you’re good.
Combo Constellations – 11:41
The SICK score for this mission is 1,000,000 points. My recording for this mission messed up, but thankfully it isn’t a mission that heavily relies on visuals. Utilize variety, and specials to get a high combo. If you were able to get 5,000,000 in the first mission, you shouldn’t have much trouble with this mission.
Defy Gravity – 12:12
The SICK score for this mission is 20,000 points. My recoding for this mission messed up also, but like the last mission, this mission doesn’t rely heavily on visuals. Just like all the previous mission similar to this one, you will want to find an area with two vert ramps close to each other, and do a bunch of flip tricks in the area, revert and manual to the other ramp, and the do a bunch of flip tricks off that one. You should be able to reach 20,000 points easily with this method.
Eclipse of the Trick – 12:47
The SICK score for this mission is 250 points. This is just a game of Simon Says but instead of Simon, its Tony. Only do tricks that Tony says. You do not have to do these tricks in one continuous combo to get more points. You just have to land the tricks back to back. For example, if Tony tells you to do a kick flip, do a kick flip and then land. Then, if he says to grind, grind and then land. This will add to your combo for the mission and give you more points.

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5 is a skateboarding video game in the Tony Hawk's series developed by Robomodo and Disruptive Games, and published by Activision.
The game is the tenth game in the series, being the first main entry in the series since 2007's Proving Ground, and a follow-up to 2002's Pro Skater 4. The game was released on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on September 29, 2015, with releases on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 to follow on November 10, 2015.
Like previous installments of the series, Pro Skater 5 will feature a list of playable professional skateboarders to play as, offering players the ability to customize their own skaters. The game will feature Create-A-Park, a feature last seen in 2005's American Wasteland. Created parks can be shared to the online community.
The game will feature a selection of levels based on real-world locations, as was the case with previous Tony Hawk titles. These levels will feature multiple objectives, missions, obstacles and gaps for the player to discover, complete and compete. This may be in offline single-player, or online in either co-operative or competitive multi-player gameplay. The game is also believed to feature a character 'level up' system, which will allow the player to progress through the course of the game, both online and offline, in a 'seamless' transition of play. The level will carry from single-player to multi-player and vice versa.

For the purposes of revenue, lazy storytelling, and whatever it is Zak Snyder tells himself to get out of bed in the morning, when it comes to asteroids, Science fiction and video games creators have done something of disservice to your perception of reality.
Take a fond trip down sci-fi memory lane, and think about the time someone, possibly you, has had to dogfight or navigate through yet another frakkin’ asteroid belt. Huge space rocks tumbling dangerously in space! Action! Adventure! Only the skilled pilot, with her trusty astromecha-doplis ship can maneuver through the dense cluster of space boulders, dodging this way and that, avoiding certain collision.
And then she shoots her pew pew laser breaking up larger asteroids up into smaller ones, possibly obliterating them entirely depending on the cg budget. Inevitably, there’s bobbing and weaving. Pursuit craft will clip their wings on asteroids, spinning off into nearby tango. Some will fly straight into a space boulder. Finally you’ll thread the needle on a pair of asteroids and the last ship of the whatever they’re called clicky clacky mantis Zorak bug people will try and catch you, but he/it won’t be quite so lucky. Poetically getting squashed like… a… bug. Sackhoff for the win, pilot victorious.
Okay, you probably knew the laser part is totally fake. I mean, everybody knows you can’t hear sounds in space. Outside of Starbuck being awesome, is that at all realistic? And if so, how does NASA maneuver unmanned spacecraft through that boulder-strewn grand canyon death trap to reach the outer planets?
The asteroid belt is a vast region between the orbits of Mars and Jupiter. Our collection of space rocks starts around 300 million kilometers from the Sun and ends around 500 million kilometers. The first asteroid, the dwarf planet Ceres which measures 950 km across, was discovered in 1801, with a “That’s funny.”. Soon after astronomers turned up many more small objects orbiting in this region at the “Oooh neat!” stage.
They realized it was a vast belt of material orbiting the Sun, with I suspect a “We’re all gonna die.”. To date, almost half a million asteroids have been discovered, most of which are in the main belt.
As mentioned in a another video, gathering up all the material in the asteroid belt and gluing it together makes a mass around 4% of the Moon. So, in case one of your friends gets excited and suggests it was a failed planet, you can bust out that stat and publicly shame them for being so 1996, Goodwill Hunting style. You like asteroids? How about them asteroids?
There’s a few hundred larger than 100 km across, and tens of millions of rocks a hundred meters across. Any one of these could ruin a good day, or bring a bad day to a welcome firey close for either a depressed wayfaring spacecraft or a little bluegreen speck of a planet. Which sounds dangerous all the way around.
Fortunately, our asteroid belt is a vast region of space. Let’s wind up the perspective-o-meter. If you divide the total number of objects in the field by the volume of space that asteroid belt takes up, each space rock is separated by hundreds of thousands of kilometers. Think of it as gravity’s remarkably spacious zen rock garden.
As a result, when NASA engineers plot a spacecraft’s route through the asteroid belt, they don’t expect to make a close encounter with any asteroids - in fact, they’ll change its flight path to intercept asteroids en route. Because hey look, asteroid!

In January 2014, emissions of water vapor were detected from several regions of Ceres.[20] This was somewhat unexpected, because large bodies in the asteroid belt do not typically emit vapor, a hallmark of comets.
The robotic NASA spacecraft Dawn entered orbit around Ceres on 6 March 2015.[21][22][23] Pictures with a resolution previously unattained were taken during imaging sessions starting in January 2015 as Dawn approached Ceres, showing a cratered surface. Two distinct bright spots (or high-albedo features) inside a crater, incorrectly reported as observed in earlier Hubble images,[24] were seen in a 19 February 2015 image, leading to speculation about a possible cryovolcanic origin[25][26][27] or outgassing.[28] On 3 March 2015, a NASA spokesperson said the spots are consistent with highly reflective materials containing ice or salts, but that cryovolcanism is unlikely.[29] On 11 May 2015, NASA released a higher resolution image showing that, instead of one or two spots, there are actually several

Planet Phaeton was apparently destroyed by some type of death star or planet destroyer. Ancient legends and writings speak of galactic wars and Joseph P. Farrell's book The Cosmic War portrays this possible scenario in detail. I personally had visions of galactic and even universal wars going on, but then ending abruptly when the ones that knew the truth used super weapons to end the battle once and for all. Simililarly it will happen on our planet. The purging, cleansing and Judgment Day or biblical battle of Armageddon.
