Video was made in one of the most beautiful and unspoiled valleys in Europe, Soča Valley, Slovenia. It mostly presents river Soča with few of its many beautiful surroundings, Krn Lake, Boka Waterfall, Kozjak Waterfall and Zapotok Waterfall.
The Soča is a 138-kilometre (86 mi) long river that flows through western Slovenia (96 kilometres or 60 miles) and northeastern Italy (43 kilometres or 27 miles). Due to its emerald-green water, the river is marketed as "The Emerald Beauty." It is said to be one of the rare rivers in the world that retain such a color throughout their length. It is also the spot where filming of movie The Chronicles of Narnia Prince Caspian took place (https://youtu.be/LSTD_kJBETo ).

Soča
The Soča (pronounced [ˈsoːtʃa] in Slovene) or Isonzo (pronounced [iˈzontso] in Italian) (other names Friulian: Lusinç, archaic German: Sontig, Latin: Aesontius or Isontius) is a 138-kilometre (86 mi) long river that flows through western Slovenia (96 kilometres or 60 miles) and northeastern Italy (43 kilometres or 27 miles).
An Alpine river in character, its source lies in the Trenta Valley in the Julian Alps in northwestern Slovenia, at an elevation of 876 metres (2,874 ft). The river runs past the towns of Bovec, Kobarid, Tolmin, Kanal ob Soči, Nova Gorica (where it is crossed by the Solkan Bridge), and Gorizia, entering the Adriatic Sea close to the town of Monfalcone. It has a nival-pluvial regime in its upper course and pluvial-nival in its lower course.
Prior to the First World War the river formed part of the border between Kingdom of Italy and the Austro-Hungarian Empire and during that conflict was the scene of bitter fighting between the two countries, culminating in the Battle of Caporetto in 1917.

Untouched beauties of Triglav National Park, thematic trails and breathtaking views, mountain pastures, hundreds of years of local heritage and know how hidden in the local products, excellent restaurants, famous events or just romantic walks alongside the banks of the emerald river makes the valley a perfect place for active and green minded people.
The valley is also known for the Isonzo front. During the World War I it was a place of the one of the world's biggest and bloodiest mountain battles. Hemingway's novel Farwell to the arms describes some of the events. Reminds of the battle lines and fortifications, all of them placed in the astonishing natural surroundings are connected to the Walks of Peace thematic trail today.
There is only an hour drive from the sheer mountain valley to the Adriatic coast. The mixture of Mediterranean and alpine climates, geographic shapes and wild life is quite obvious in the way of local everyday life too - hard working and reliable mountain people are blessed with the Mediterranean hospitality and joy of life. The Soča Valley is a good place to be.

Hey Guys, it's Anika! I'm taking you to follow a Soča River with us on our spontaneous road trip :) It's my first time in Soča Valley so I didn't have any special spots that I would like to see. We just drove along the Soča River and stopped to explore some places, like Most na Soči, Tolmin and Kobarid. We saw Napoleon Bridge and St. Anton Church above Kobarid. It was lovely and relaxing. Next time we will take tracking shoes and go deeper into the Valley! It's also a good idea to take swimming suits to try this incredibly COLD but clean water. This, the best known and most well equipped ski resort in Slovenia, is growing in popularity each year, including the summer months.The first mountain massifs of the Julian Alps reflect in the small Lake Jansa which lies just beyond Kranjska Gora en route to the Vrsic Pass. The high rising Slovenian Alps are one of the most little known yet most beautiful alpine regions in Europe, a mysterious, unspoiled landscape and the realm of the zlatorog, a goat with golden horns! Each summer, in Jesenice in the north of today’s EU Member State of Slovenia,an historical steam train travels through the Triglav National Park and both the Bača and Soča Valleys, to Nova Gorica.The first stop is Bled Jezero. Several actors are on the train, dressed as conductors in the uniforms of the old empire, a special touch that adds to the wonderful atmosphere. The train station is sited above a hollowed-out glacier that later became Bled Lake, one of the warmest lakes in the Alps. The Austro-Hungarian monarchy required a second railway connection between Vienna and Trieste. Its planning took more than thirty years and it took five years to construct: tunnels were blasted out of the rock, narrow valleys used to their best advantage, and amazing bridges constructed. With the completion of this railroad, the railway network connected Vienna and Central Europe with the Adriatic regions of the K and K monarchy. On this journey we have travelled on the youngest of the ‘steam ladies’ of the Ljubljana Railway Museum. The 33-037 weighs a hundred and thirty six tons, is twenty three metres long and its tender can take nine tons of coal. The Bohinj Museum Train is a fabulous experience. Not one to be missed!

The Soča is a 138-kilometre (86 mi) long river that flows through western Slovenia (96 kilometres or 60 miles) and northeastern Italy (43 kilometres or 27 miles). Due to its emerald-green water, the river is marketed as "The Emerald Beauty." It is said to be one of the rare rivers in the world that retain such a color throughout their length. The Soča Valley, with its natural splendorous, has long been a favorite among seekers of active experiences in Europe. The valley of staggering waterfalls and playful cascades, pools and ravines offers unforgettable, expert-guided kayaking and rafting tours, canyoning down mysterious tributaries, and other thrilling adventures. The valley’s natural attractions can be seen from the air, paragliding or from an airplane. Caving and hang-gliding enable special interaction with nature. With its pink marble façade, the Early Baroque Franciscan Church Of Mary dominates the square. The Dom Church Stolnica was built according to the design of Venetian, Andrea Pozzo in the 17th century. The interior of this Baroque church is quite overwhelming and with great attention to detail. Situated on the four hundred metre high Castle Hill, the Slovenian Acropolis was once inhabited by the Illyrians and Celts. The Roman watchtower later became both a strategic fortress and castle. A triumphal arch marks the entrance to the Žale Cemetery on the northeast edge of the city with a number of fine, richly decorated chapels. Here Jože Plečnik created a masterpiece that represented the transition from the world of the living, to the world of the dead. Columns flank the main path up to Tivoli Castle that was built by the Jesuits in the seventeenth century and soon became a summer residence of the bishops. Romantic lakes with water fowl and pretty flowers embellish the park, once the home of Field Marshal Radetzky. Ljubljana is a city of joie de vivre and pleasure where the Middle Ages, Baroque and Art Nouveau meet with the relaxed lifestyle of the south!
