In March 2015, a new Shinkansen rail line opened to directly link Tokyo with the Hokuriku region, greatly reducing the travel time from the capital. As well as speed and comfort, the Hokuriku Shinkansen has been designed, both inside and out, to reflect the cultural and artistic traditions of the Japan Sea coast. The Hokuriku region (北陸地方, Hokuriku chihō?) is located in the northwestern part of Honshu, the main island of Japan. It lies along the Sea of Japan within the Chūbu region. It is almost equivalent to Koshi Province and Hokurikudō area in pre-modern Japan.
The Hokuriku region includes the four prefectures of Ishikawa, Fukui, Niigata and Toyama, although Niigata is sometimes included in one of the following regions:
The major population centers of Hokuriku are:
Of these, Niigata is the largest with a population of over 800,000.
The main industries in the Hokuriku area include chemicals, medicine, tourism, textiles and textile machinery, heavy machinery, farming, and fishing. Koshihikari, a popular variety of rice is a special product of Hokuriku region.
The Hokuriku region has the highest volume of snowfall of any inhabited and arable region in the world.[citation needed] This is because dry Siberian air masses, which develop high humidity over the Sea of Japan, are forced upwards when they encounter the mountains of Honshū, causing the humidity to condense as snow.

This station has been a key junction between the Tokyo metropolitan area and the Hokuriku region because many passengers of Joetsu Shinkansen transfer for the limited express train HAKUTAKA, which has connected here and Hokuriku region via Hokuetsu Express Hokuhoku line at 160km/h, which is the fastest speed of all Japan local lines. However, HAKUTAKA will be abolished and many transfer passengers will disapper on 14th March, 2015, when the Hokuriku Shinkansen extend to Kanazawa. This time, I took movie of snow melting system by warm water sprinklers and 14 trains decoupling at, arriving at, departing from and passing through Echigo-Yuzawa station, located at Yuzawa Town in Niigata Prefecture, Japan, on the JR Joestsu Shinkansen.

KANAZAWA — Tourists have been flocking to Kanazawa since the Hokuriku Shinkansen began operations last month. Once four hours away from Tokyo by train, the bullet train takes visitors to the central city of the Hokuriku region in about 2½ hours.
Some tourists may feel like they are not so welcome in Kanazawa as few salesclerks call out to customers from the shops here, which is common at other tourist spots. However, warm hearts can be found among local people once the visitor steps closer. Fortunately, such opportunities are increasing here.
“This geisha district is preserved for a long time and designated as a historical street,” said local volunteer guide Junjiro Matsuoka to a group of nine Australian students aged between 11 and 13 at the Higashi Chaya District in Kanazawa last month.Matsuoka, 74, is a member of the Kanazawa Goodwill Guide Network (KGGN), a local volunteer group that offers English guides in Kanazawa free of charge. The group comprises about 100 members, who are sent to help tourists when requested.
KGGN was established in 1992 to offer foreign tourists the opportunity to enjoy Kanazawa and the traditional culture intrinsic to the city by welcoming them in English. During fiscal 1992, it conducted tour services for 51 foreign tourists, which increased to 906 in fiscal 2014, according to the group.
The Australian student group was introduced to KGGN through its travel agency, said Daniel Blomeley, 56, a teacher who headed the group. Matsuoka accompanied them from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., taking them to famous sightseeing locations, including Kenrokuen, one of the nation’s most beautiful gardens. Although his English was not perfect, students listened, rapt, to his explanations.

Foreign food, in particular Chinese food in the form of noodles in soup called ramen and fried dumplings, gyoza, and western food such as curry and hamburger steaks are commonly found in Japan. Historically, the Japanese shunned meat, but with the modernization of Japan in the 1860s, meat-based dishes such as tonkatsu became common.
Japan has an indigenous form of sweets called wagashi, which include ingredients such as red bean paste, as well as its indigenous rice wine sake.
Japanese cuisine, particularly sushi, has now become popular throughout the world.

JR Hakodate Station is the main gateway for the Hakodate City in the Hokkaido Region.
This station gained more importance since the Seikan Under Sea tunnel opened between the main Japanese Island of Honshu and Hokkaido. Now there are train services from Aomori side to the Hokkaido Region often, improving the transportation to the Hokkaido Region.

Located in Matsuyama City, Ehime Prefecture, the world famous Dogo Onsen (Hot Springs) symbol is the Dogo Onsen Honkan (道後温泉本館). This charming bath house is filled with activity as staff members lead guests up and down the wooden staircases, along the old-fashioned wooden hallways to their rooms and various. It is said Studio Ghibli’s “Spirited Away” is modeled after the Dogo Onsen Honkan.
The Honkan has two different baths for visitors to enjoy. Kami no Yu (the Bath of the Gods) is located on the first floor and Tama no Yu (the Bath of the Spirits) is on the second floor. Both baths are a separate male and female bathing section separated by a wall. The baths are made of stone. Kami no Yu is larger but Tama no Yu is more elegant.
Visitors will find communal tatami mat rooms on the second floor. Often these large tatami rooms are used to relax after a long bath. There are smaller, individual rooms on the third floor to rest and perhaps have a light snack. There are four different admission packages of visitors as to the extent of facilities available to them during their visit.
Visitors may wish to view Yushinden, a special section in the Honkan which was constructed for the Imperial Family’s visit in 1899. Visitors will be taken on a short guided tour to see the facilities reserved for visiting emperors. The facilities shown include a lavishly decorated room as well as the emperor’s exclusive bath and toilet. Please note, since 1952, no emperor has used the Yushinden.

Legend has it that storks used to bathe in the marshes of Kinosaki to heal their wounds. Later, bath houses were built over these very sites to capitalize on the healing waters. Since then Kinosaki has become one of the most popular onsen destination in the Kansai region.

The Bicol Region is one of the 17 Regions of the Philippines and it comprises of four provinces in the Bicol Peninsula: the southeastern end of Luzon island, and two island-provinces adjacent to the peninsula. Medical Course
The four year medical course at AGO Bicol Christian Medical College is called Doctor of Medicine(M.D) like other Philippines Medical Universities. Before doing the MD course, candidate must enroll into premedicine course of 14 months duration. After compeleting BS premedical course and appearing in NMAT exam, students will move to MD course.
The course covers the normal Human Anatomy, Parasitology, Gynacelogy, Biochemistry, Physiology, Obsetrics, Pharmacology, Pediatrics, Community health, General Medicine, Communcal Healthm Preventive Medicine, Medical Practice, Psychiatry,etc . Course includes Classroom lectures, laboratory preparations and group discussions. This is followed by clinical rotation in Ago Medical Center or other Medical hospitals during which students will get a chance to diagnose and treat inpatients under senior doctor guidance.
