25 Things to do in Barcelona, Spain | Top Attractions Travel Guide Video Transcript:
This week we are exploring another Spanish city. We are in Barcelona and this video is going to highlight 25 things to do here.
It is kind of hard to believe our time in Barcelona has expired. So final thoughts.
Well, it was a really fun city to visit. Great architecture, really nice beaches. It is very lively especially at night. The only downfall is that we were here in the middle of summer so it was super hot and super crowded and sometimes that made it a little bit difficult to enjoy. Especially at midday or in the mid-afternoon. So keep that in mind. Maybe consider visiting in the springtime, fall, winter.
Well, so what did you think of the city?
It is definitely a fun city. We had a lot of fun going to the beaches. One thing that is really different about this city compared to some other European cities though is that it is really spread out. In order for us to visit all of these different attractions we had to chunk them together into groups to visit them day by day. Overall, it was a decent city. It didn't quite click with me the same way that Madrid did. But that is just personal preference I suppose.
And that is a wrap for Barcelona! Our 5 days in the city flew by, and while this guide didn't cover everything, we hope we were able to give you a feel of what this fun seaside city has to offer. As always, if you have any suggestions of things to do around town, feel free to add them in the comments below. And if you want to catch our latest travel videos, don't forget to hit subscribe!

Hola y bienvenidos a Madrid. This week we are in the Spanish capital and we are going to show you twenty five of the best things to do in the city.
Final thoughts on your time in Madrid. Well, I really enjoyed the city. And I really found that it is super walk-able. We were here for 10 days and we hardly had to take the metro at all. We just took the bus once when we were visiting the stadium but the rest of the time we were able to walk wherever we needed to go. And also I think it is a great city for art lovers. There are so many galleries and museums to check out. And a lot of them are free in the evening. So keep that in mind.
And now it is your turn. What did you think of Madrid? You know what? I absolutely loved Madrid. It is a city that just really clicked with me. We have a lot of friends that are living here long term and prior to coming here I had no idea like why would someone want to come to Madrid? Now I totally get it. I love the culture, I love the food, I love the nightlife. Everything is really cheap. I go to the grocery store and I can get a one liter thing of wine for just over a Euro. It is just a really affordable fun city to be in. And it is somewhere I hope I have a chance to come back to again soon.
And that is a wrap of our time in Madrid! We had a splendid time and were truly sad to say goodbye to the city, but that just means we'll have to come back again. If you have any travel tips for Madrid, feel free to share those in the comments below.
This is part of our Travel in Spain series. We're making a series of videos showcasing Spanish culture, Spanish arts, Spanish foods, Spanish religion, Spanish cuisine and Spanish people.

Tenerife is the largest of the seven Canary Islands, a Spanish archipelago in the Atlantic Ocean, off North Africa. Each of these volcanic islands are blessed with spectacular beaches, otherworldly beauty, and perfect weather.
Tenerife receives around 5 million visitors each year, many of whom head to the island’s seaside resorts to enjoy the year-round sunshine and spectacular beaches.
Enjoy golden sands and almost any watersport you can imagine at Las Americas Beach, one of the island’s most popular beaches. Or, take a dip in the crystal waters at Del Duque Beach - just 10 minutes’ drive to the north.
Los Cristianos, once a sleepy fishing village is now a beachside town where you can step straight off the boardwalk onto the soft sand.
For a seaside experience with a difference, head to the north or west to discover sultry black sand beaches. Visit Jardìn Beach…… or drive to Los Gigantes, which nestles against the bottom of magnificent cliffs.
For those who can tear themselves away from the island’s glorious beaches, Tenerife offers generous rewards. Some of the island’s most picturesque villages are only minutes away from the large resorts.
Ever since the golden age of discovery, explorers and thinkers have been drawn to Tenerife’s beautiful shores. In olden times, the trip was a perilous adventure but today, Tenerife is an easy plane ride away.
So, whether you are seeking ancient mysteries sunset over chair or escaping the modern stresses of daily life, come and discover all that Tenerife has to offer.

Valencia is the third largest city in Spain after Madrid and Barcelona. Valencia is situated on the banks of the Turia river, on the eastern coast of the Iberian peninsula and the western part of the Mediterranean Sea, fronting the Gulf of Valencia.
The most important places to visit in Valencia are: Cathedral of Valencia (if seen from the top the Latin cross shape of cathedral can be seen. Holy Grail can be seen in one of the cathedral's chapels), Bioparc (it is not another zoo! Make sure you have enough free space on your flash-card), Museum of Science (if you short in time or if you visited something similar in Germany or France you might skip this option, but if you have 1 day, you can buy a combined ticket to visit this museum too), Oceanografic (worth visiting, the best part is dolphin show. Normally overcrowded, so reserving tickets online might be a good idea), Central market and many more.

The hour includes the major cities of Sevilla, Córdoba, and Granada; flamenco, sherry, and horses; dramatic white-washed hill towns; and fun in the Costa del Sol sun — plus a dash of Britain in Gibraltar.

Since 2000, more than 27,000 migrants and refugees have died attempting the perilous journey to Europe. With an unprecedented number of people breaking through its heavily barricaded borders in 2014, the EU continues to fortify its frontiers.
VICE News presents Europe or Die, a new four-part series that documents the efforts of those risking their lives to reach Europe, and the forces tasked to keep them out.
In episode one of our series, VICE News correspondent Milène Larsson travels to the border between Morocco and Spain, where West Africans in their thousands storm the razor-wire-clad fences. Many are beaten back by border police or illegally returned.

In episode one of our series, VICE News correspondent Milène Larsson travels to the border between Morocco and Spain, where West Africans in their thousands storm the razor-wire-clad fences. Many are beaten back by border police or illegally returned.

From the days of Charlemagne to Christopher Columbus, Islamic Spain represents one of the most productive intercultural relationships in Western history down to the present day. The lemon tree, the water wheel, the astrolabe and Aristotle's lost philosophy all arrived in Europe through Islamic Spain. Churches and temples that strongly resemble Muslim mosques, the pinnacle of Hebrew literature's Golden Age, the roots of modern medicine and mathematics, and the transmission of Greek philosophy into Western Europe are just a few of the collaborative achievements that form the legacy of Christian, Jewish, and Muslim cultures interacting on the Iberian Peninsula over seven centuries.
Cities of Light: The Rise & Fall of Islamic Spain, a two-hour documentary film, journeys into one of World History's most fascinating and important periods. With a fresh focus on the many contributions to Western civilization made by Islamic institutions and culture, the film also consistently cleaves to an even-handed presentation of the triumphs and shortcomings, achievements and failures of a centuries-long period when Muslims, Christians, and Jews inhabited the same corner of Western Europe and there built a lasting society that was both part of Christian Europe and the Muslim Middle East.
Cities of Light vividly demonstrates how these very different groups found the means to co-exist and thrive together—and yet how fragile that symbiosis could be. The pluralistic centuries of Medieval Spain ended in the Spanish Inquisition and the formation of an exclusively Catholic Spain.
The legacy of Muslim Spain is rooted in the two hundred fifty year reign of the Umayyad dynasty. This first, long interaction between the Arab Middle East and European Spain laid the basis for a legacy of pluralism—the Spanish term is convivencia. Nowhere in Medieval Europe was central government more lasting, more extensive, or more successful than in Cordoba, Spain's capital under the Muslims. By the tenth century it was Europe's largest, richest, and cleanest city, with running water, public hospitals, and lighted streets—(hence the film's title). The film lingers on the creation and expansion of this stunning capital, where religious and civil institutions were joined in a single governing center with a national tax base.
The opening hour of Cities of Light demonstrates how a culture of pluralism helped fuel an institutionalized love and respect for learning in all its forms, from science and mathematics to philosophy and poetry. The program and its extensive website help viewers trace the development of a new Mediterranean culture deeply influenced by Muslim scholarship and art.
Unlike the Romans and Visigoths before them, Muslim rulers seemed to grasp that the Jews and Christians who preceded them to the Iberian Peninsula were necessary partners in a productive society. The fascinating story of a central bureaucracy staffed by elites from all three faiths, with Jews in all but the highest post and Christian scholars outperforming "native" Arabic speakers in their own language and culture, is a fascinating and powerful antidote to our modern stereotypes concerning Christians, Jews, and Muslims.
Had the story of Islamic Spain stopped here, at the apex of Cordoban central rule, it would be a utopian history unmatched by human beings of any time anywhere. Instead, forces of division, corruption, entropy, and prejudice enter the story. The lack of a clear line of succession, the rise of Crusading and Jihadist cultures, and the advent of foreign armies conspired to bring Cordoba tumbling down in the early eleventh century. Even then, out of its ashes, there gradually arose nearly two dozen vibrant city states scattered around the peninsula, each one vying with the others to be the most powerful, the most cultured.
The second hour of Cities of Light deals with the long, drawn-out fall of the old order, the gradual decline of Muslim power, and the rise of a Roman Catholic Spanish monarchy as the powerful kingdoms of and Castile, Lyon and Aragon combined to form a new national identity. Here we watch the spirit of co-existence finally disappear as Jews and then Muslims, by stages, are forced to convert or go into exile.
Perhaps no other period of European history sheds so much light on our current encounter with extremism. In the story of Islamic Spain, we see what heights may be achieved when adherents to each of these three faiths join together to forge a common culture and, by contrast, how absolutists and narrow minded ideologues with their crusades and jihads may divide and bring down a creative, pluralist society forever.

Over a thousand years ago, the sun-washed lands of Southern Spain were home to Muslims, Christians, and Jews living together and flourishing. Their culture and beliefs intertwined and the knowledge of the ancients was gathered and reborn. Here were the very seeds of the Renaissance. But this world too quickly vanished. Greed, fear, and intolerance swept it away. Puritanical judgments and absolutism snuffed out the light of learning. Within a few centuries, the fragile union of these people dissipated like smoke. Brought to life by powerful, feature-film style re-creations, Cities of Light: The Rise and Fall of Islamic Spain explores the causes that destroyed the one civilization of pluralism and interfaith cooperation that for a few centuries lit the Dark Ages in Medieval Europe.

Donwload Here http://trhgf.boooks.xyz/?book=0810858924&i72;=e05n.html
With the completion of Volume 3 of Canciones de España: Songs of Nineteenth-Century Spain, 83 songs by 50 19th-century Spanish composers are now available for performance and study, in both high and low voice editions. This final volume presents 31 newly published canciones by 18 composers such as José León, Antonio Mercé Fondevila, Lázaro Núñez Robres, Antonio Reparaz, Gabriel Rodríguez, and Joaquín Valverde.
These songs represent the gems of the repertoire, providing examples of song types typical of the period, including the canción andaluza, the canción española, the balada Árabe, the bolero, the habanera, the canzoneta, and the seguidilla. A number of songs included had previously been available only in manuscript form and long forgotten in the depths of the world's greatest libraries. Here, they are made available and accessible through discussions of 19th-century politics and Spanish song style, a thorough pronunciation guide to Castilian Spanish, both word-for-word and idiomatic translations, and International Phonetic Alphabet transcriptions. Short biographies of each composer add insight to the compositions.
Rounding out the anthology, this final volume includes appendixes that list all 83 songs by level of difficulty and by gender. This anthology allows singers and voice teachers to explore the poetry, culture, and history of Spain through its songs, demonstrating that the songs deserve their rightful place in the classical song repertoire of Europe and the Americas.

It is our pleasure to invite you to join Hope and me on a very special mission to Spain, July 3- 14, 2016.
This trip is being arranged and developed by the Cantors Assembly of which I am presently serving on the board. This mission will include concerts, meetings with Spanish Officials, American, Canadian and Israeli Diplomats, learning with renowned scholars as well as meeting with Jewish community leaders who represent some 20,000 Jews now living in Spain. The Holy Blossom Temple contingency will be part of a group of congregants from around the world along with 100 Cantors whose purpose it will be to help further dialogue and build a stronger relationship between Spain, Israel and world Jewry. Our previous missions to Poland and Germany were literally life changing experiences inspiring, emotional, fun and educational. Those were and this will be an extraordinary Jewish adventure.
Looking forward to our next experience together.
