Der animierte Kurzfilm entstand im Rahmen der Bachelorarbeit an der HS Augsburg, 2011. Die mythologische Geschichte von Apollon und Daphne von Ovid diente als Vorlage. Die Marmorskulptur ‚Apollon und Daphne’ von Bernini war zudem die figürliche Vorlage für die finale Pose. Der Mythos ist eine abstrakte Umsetzung nach dem Vorbild der expressionistischen Maler, wie Wassily Kandinsky und August Macke. Kurze Zusammenfassung der Geschichte: Eros ist der Liebesbote in der griechischen Mythologie und mit Flügeln dargestellt. Er wird von Apollon, dem Gott der Musik und des Bogenschießens, verspottet. Apollon ist der Sohn des Zeus und der Göttin Leto und ist einer der zwölf Hauptgötter des griechischen Pantheons. Er tritt daher hochnäsig und arrogant auf. Nach diesem Spott rächt sich Eros an ihm, indem er einen Liebespfeil mit einer goldenen Spitze auf ihn und einen mit einer bleiernen Spitze auf die Bergnymphe Daphne schießt. Daphne ist in der Mythologie Priesterin der Erde, Tochter des Flussgottes Peneios und eine jungfräuliche Jägerin. Apollon verliebt sich unsterblich in die Bergnymphe. Diese hingegen empfindet das genaue Gegenteil für Eros, nämlich Abscheu. Apollon nähert sich Daphne und bezirzt diese und schenkt ihr seine Liebe. Daphne allerdings fühlt sich bedrängt und weicht voller Abscheu zurück. Als Apollon sie am Arm packt und mit Gewalt zu ihr ziehen will, weiß sie sich schließlich keinen anderen Rat mehr, als zu fliehen. Erschöpft von der Verfolgung durch Apollon fleht sie schließlich zu ihrem Göttervater Peneios, dass er ihre Gestalt verwandeln möge, damit Apollon die Lust an ihr verliere. Daraufhin verliert sie ihr Gewand und ihre Glieder erstarren. Daphne verwandelt sich in einen Lorbeerbaum. Es entstanden insgesamt über 650 Einzelbilder, die anschließend eingescannt und am Computer zusammengesetzt wurden. Gemalt wurde mit Acryl und Tusche auf Papier. The marble sculpture 'Apollon and Daphne’ by Bernini serves as a reference to the metamorphosis of Daphne. The film is an abstract realization along the lines of expressionist painters, like Wassily Kandinsky and August Macke. Eros, the messenger of love in Greek mythology is shown with wings. Apollon, the god of music and archery makes fun of him. He is the son of Zeus and the goddess Leto and one of the twelve main deities oft he Greek Pantheon. He is an arrogant person. After that mockery Eros takes revenge on Apollon by shooting an love arrow with a golden arrowhead at him and an arrow with a leaden arrowhead at the mountain nymph Daphne. In Greek mythology she is the goddess of the earth, the daughter of the river god Peneios and a virgin huntswoman. Apollon falls in love with her. Daphne however feels disgusted. Apollon approaches and flatters her. He admits his adoration to her. But Daphne feels pressurized by him, and backs off in disgust. Apollon then seizes her and tries to force her near him. Daphne finally does not know what to do except to flee from him in terror. Completely exhausted from being chased by Apollon, she begs her godfather Peneios for a metamorphosise, so she would not be attractive to Apollon any longer. After being granted the metamorphosis, she loses her clothes and her limbs freeze. Comparable to Berini’s sculpture and Ovid’s ancient piece of writing, Daphne turns into a laurel tree. In order to create the shortfilm, more than 650 pictures were created and then digitally composed. The paintings resulted from a combination of acrylic and ink on paper.
