As I drove out of the Serengeti and reflected on what an amazing experience it was to see nature at its best, I caught sight of this Maasai shephard, herding his goat under this big beautiful rainbow. The Maasai people are a semi-nomadic ethnic group that inhabits southern Kenya and Northern Tanzania whose culture and way of life has been impacted by the modern world. Photo: Simone Cheung -
We had a wonderfully relaxing sampan ride through the Van Long Nature Reserve in Ninh Binh, Vietnam, floating through reedy wetlands and surrounded by towering limestone peaks. Ninh Binh is known as the Ha Long Bay on land. Having experienced both, I much prefer the beauty, peace and tranquility of Ninh Binh. Photo: Liesel Koelmeyer -
American Bison in Southern England. Found these amazing creatures in Yeovil, Somerset when travelling through England. Photo: Paul Field -
Taking a shikara ride on Dal Lake in Srinagar, in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir, was like being transported back in time. Once we cleared the busy area of the lake and moved into the network of small canals, we found ourselves passing through rural villages, with local artisans, vegetable gardens, floating markets, kids going to school by boat, and tiny wooden shops on the lake providing a complete infrastructure. All transport is water based and man-powered (no engines!), so it was wonderfully quiet, unlike everywhere else we traveled in India, where it was almost impossible to escape the honking scooters, cars, trucks and buses. The Venice of India, this waterborne rural way of life has existed for centuries and will hopefully continue to survive for centuries to come. Photo: Liesel Koelmeyer -
I finally bought my ticket and travelled to the red centre of Australia to see the big rock in person. While the masses took the tourist buses I took my two wheels and journeyed to the centre of the Oz. I snapped this photo in the early morning before the searing heat caught me out and left my drink bottle dry. Photo: Lisa Matuzelis -
On our roadtrip from Melbourne to Blackwater to visit my partners family, I spotted this beautiful sunflower, I love how it contrasts with the stormy weather behind and the crop fields. That shot was taken just before we get to Lightning Ridge, a very exquisite but interesting mining town in NSW. Photo: Rodrigo Oliveira -

Market noodle seller; The soup dish Cao lau, was one of the best meals on our trip. The noodles used are traditionally made with some of the ash from the fire. When we arrive in a new place we try to eat the provincial cuisine and Vietnam has a diverse range with many ethnic influences. Ilha Grande is a paradise in the State of Rio de Janeiro, it's a perfect spot to escape the big city and relax. That photograph was taken in the middle of winter 2015, it shows how warm and relaxing it is even in its ''coldest'' days. Photo: Rodrigo Oliveira -
We witnessed the colourful art of Flamenco in full motion last weekend. The stamina of these Catalonian performers was incredible. The audience couldn't escape the emotional ride of vibrato heels, nimble guitar fingers, chanting, clapping, flying hair clips and painful facial expressions. At times the torso appeared incredibly still whilst the feet were frantic. The musicians were equally impressive, pausing briefly to shake the sting from the palm of their hands as they didn't miss a beat (or off-beat!). When in Barcelona, don't miss this charismatic art which is such a treat for the senses. Photo: Simone Byrne -
April 2015 and this was the view of Paris we had all been looking forward to seeing. Sacre Coeur from the roof terrace of Musee D'Orsay. Unfortunately, my partner's mother Jenny - around whom the trip was planned - fell ill the day before our international flight. Too late for us to change anything so my partner Kirstin and I and our teenage son went ahead with the trip making sure we photographed all Jenny's special places. Jenny is now recovered and planning a trip to Japan with Kirstin. Photo: Eric Whitehouse -
Charles Darwin in the Central Hall of the Natural History Museum in London. With Charles Darwin in front and the Giant Sequoia display behind. So much significance to how we see the world today made this space was my favourite place in London. Photo: Paul Field -
I just managed to get in this final shot of St George's rock hewn church in Lalibela, Ethiopia before the approaching thunderstorm hit. Photo: adrian whear -
Havana, Cuba. The afternoon heat brings the locals into the street, with games being played by children and a lone man sitting outside his house. Away from the crowds in Old Havana it is quieter and less hectic. The effect of the lack of modern technology is most apparent. With no internet, mobile phones and social media, the Cubans communicate in person with each other so there is always much chatter and laughter to be heard. The absence of any advertising is remarkable. Photo: Sue Warnes -
A brisk day wandering around London with some pleasing clouds and a couple of Landmarks and I liked the way the path lent a distorted line to the aspect of the eye. Photo: Mark Adams -
A stormy afternoon in Bombo quarry, with cloud-filtered light accentuating the cracks and crevices of an undeniably Australian terrain. Harsh, but exquisitely beautiful, the simple elements of rock, sky and man complement and contrast one other, producing a primordial, organic feel. One does not need to travel far to experience the sheer wonder of natural formations such as these. Photo: Louise Prestipino -
Hermosa Beach California. This sculpture is of a local legend Tim Kelly who died in a car accident when he was 25. My son is joining him on his board at sunset. Photo: Vicki Barmby -
While thoroughly enjoying the sand, sea and sun it was hard to imagine that a Tsunami only recently tore through this beautiful landscape on the island of Upolu, Samoa. Photo: Lisa Matuzelis
