Mariyappan, from Periyavadagampatti near Kadayampatti in Salem district, had on the gold medal in the men's high jump T-42 event at the 2016 Rio Paralympics. The young athlete made a leap of 1.89 m in the event and won the gold medal ... gold medal in the next Paralympics as well....
