Shaun Majumder

Shaun Majumder (born January 29, 1972) is a Canadian comedian and actor.

Early life

Majumder was born in Burlington, Newfoundland and Labrador to Marian Bartlett, a European-Canadian woman from Newfoundland, and to Mani Majumder, a Bengali Hindu Indian man, originally from West Bengal. His parents split after seven years. Majumder has an older sister named Rani.

Majumder has said that because he was raised by a white mother and around white people, he had no idea he "was anything but white". In his standup acts, he jokes about joining his schoolmates in chanting racist slurs before realizing that he was the victim they were talking about. Majumder was very close to his mother who he says raised them selflessly so that he and his sister were unaware of the extreme poverty in which they lived. His mother died of a heart attack in 2003. Majumder feels a debt of love to Newfoundland which has influenced him and his work, and has given him a rhythm of appreciation for what he has.

On the Edge (The Babys album)

On the Edge is the fifth and final studio album by the Hard Rock band The Babys. The album was produced by Keith Olsen in 1980. "Turn and Walk Away" was the lone single to chart on the Billboard Hot 100.

On the Edge (Hinton novel)

On the Edge is a novel by British author Nigel Hinton and was first published in 2014. It follows the story of two boys whose mentally unstable father, who is an ex serviceman, takes them on holiday but suspicions arise.

Plot

Fifteen-year-old Dillon and his ten-year-old brother Robbie were home alone when Robbie received a telephone call from their father who they had not seen for two years after he beat up Dillon and his mother. Their father said he wanted to take them on holiday saying that their mother said it was OK despite his restraining order. Robbie was excited about the idea but Dillon was suspicious. Dad came round in a brand new 4x4 and dressed in his army gear. After talking to their father Dillon decided to go but left a note on his bed just in case.

When they stopped at a motorway service station Dillon decided to call Mum’s boyfriend Andy as Mum left her mobile at home and he did not have her office number but Dad removed the battery and the SIM card from Dillon’s mobile and Robbie left his at home.

On the Edge (game)

On The Edge was a collectible card game released in 1994, not long after Magic: The Gathering. The setting and characters were based on the RPG titled Over the Edge. The game's story was set on an island in the southern Mediterranean called Al Amarja, where various factions were fighting for control.

History

When Atlas Games did not have the finances to publish On the Edge (1994), they partnered with Jerry Corrick and Bob Brynildson and formed a new corporation called Trident, Inc. to publish the game.

Products

The product line consisted of four series and was supported by a player's guide.

Core Version

The game launched in 1994 with the core series, titled On the Edge. This series included starter decks and booster packs. The starter decks contained 60 randomized cards and the rulesheet in a cardboard tuckbox. The booster packs were made up of 10 randomized cards in a foil sleeve.

The starter decks were sold to retailers in display boxes of 10 starters. For the booster decks, the display boxes containing 60 boosters packs.

102.5 The Edge

102.5 The Edge (call sign: 2MOR) is a radio station broadcasting in Deniliquin, Australia. Its target demographic is the female 30-50 yr old age group.

Formerly known as Classic Rock 102.5, in 2013 the station dropped its classic rock format, rebranding as FM102.5 and switching to pop music adult contemporary. The current music format has become unpopular in the listening area. On 1 September 2015, the station rebranded as 102.5 The Edge, in line with sister station 102.1 The Edge.

The Edge

David Howell Evans (born 8 August 1961), better known by his stage name The Edge (or just Edge), is a British-born Irish musician and songwriter best known as the lead guitarist, keyboardist and backing vocalist of the rock band U2. A member of the group since its inception, he has recorded 13 studio albums with the band as well as one solo record. As a guitarist, the Edge has crafted a minimalistic and textural style of playing. His use of a rhythmic delay effect yields a distinctive ambient, chiming sound that has become a signature of U2's music.

The Edge was born in England to a Welsh family, and was raised in Ireland after the Evans family relocated there while he was still an infant. In 1976 at Mount Temple Comprehensive School he formed U2 with his fellow students and his older brother Dik. Inspired by the ethos of punk rock and its basic arrangements, the group began to write its own material. They eventually became one of the most popular acts in popular music, with successful albums such as 1987's The Joshua Tree and 1991's Achtung Baby. Over the years, the Edge has experimented with various guitar effects and introduced influences from several genres of music into his own style, including American roots music, industrial music, and alternative rock. With U2, the Edge has also played keyboards, co-produced their 1993 record Zooropa, and occasionally contributed lyrics. The Edge met his second and current wife, Morleigh Steinberg, through her collaborations with the band.
