Interstate 78 (I-78) is an Interstate Highway in the Northeast United States, running 144 miles (231 km) from Interstate 81 northeast of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, through Allentown, Pennsylvania, and western and northern New Jersey to the Holland Tunnel and Lower Manhattan in New York City.
I-78 is a major road linking ports in the New York City and New Jersey area to points west, and sees over 4 million trucks annually, with trucks representing 24% of all traffic. Truck traffic on the road is projected to rise once the widening of the Panama Canal is completed in 2015, when more Asian ships are expected to use East Coast ports.
I-78 begins at a directional-T interchange with I-81 in Union Township, Lebanon County, Pennsylvania, about 25 miles (40 km) northeast of Harrisburg. Near the east end of the county, at exit 8, U.S. Route 22 (US 22) merges with I-78, running concurrently for the next 43 miles (69 km).
At exit 51, in Upper Macungie Township, US 22 leaves the highway. Passengers traveling on I-78 eastbound must use this exit to access I-476 (Northeast Extension of the Pennsylvania Turnpike), and westbound travelers must use exit 53 (northbound Pennsylvania Route 309 (PA 309)) and then westbound US 22. From exits 53 to 60, I-78 runs concurrently with PA 309. The six-lane overlap bypasses the City of Allentown to the south and crosses South Mountain.

Israel "Iz" Kaʻanoʻi Kamakawiwoʻole (Hawaiian pronunciation: [kəˌmɐkəˌvivoˈʔole]) translation: "The Fearless Eyed"; May 20, 1959 – June 26, 1997), also called Bruddah Iz (Brother Iz), was a Hawaiian musician, entertainer and sovereignty activist.
His voice became famous outside Hawaii when his album Facing Future was released in 1993. His medley of "Somewhere over the Rainbow/What a Wonderful World" was subsequently featured in several films, television programs, and television commercials.
Through his skillful ukulele playing and incorporation of other genres, such as jazz and reggae, Kamakawiwoʻole remains a very strong influence on Hawaiian music.
Kamakawiwoʻole was born at Kuakini Hospital in Honolulu to Henry "Hank" Kaleialoha Naniwa Kamakawiwoʻole, Jr. and Evangeline "Angie" Leinani Kamakawiwoʻole. The notable Hawaiian musician Moe Keale was his uncle and a major musical influence. He was raised in the community of Kaimuki, where his parents had met and married. He began playing music with his older brother Skippy and cousin Allen Thornton at the age of 11, being exposed to the music of Hawaiian entertainers of the time such as Peter Moon, Palani Vaughn and Don Ho, who frequented the establishment where Kamakawiwoʻole's parents worked. Hawaiian musician Del Beazley spoke of the first time he heard Israel play, when, while playing for a graduation party, the whole room fell silent on hearing him. Israel continued his path as his brother Skippy entered the Army in 1971 and cousin Allen parted ways in 1976 for the mainland.
New Jersey is a state in the Northeastern and Middle Atlantic regions of the United States. It is bordered on the north and east by New York, on the southeast and south by the Atlantic Ocean, on the west by Pennsylvania, and on the southwest by Delaware. New Jersey is the fourth-smallest state, but the 11th-most populous and the most densely populated of the 50 United States. New Jersey lies entirely within the combined statistical areas of New York City and Philadelphia and is the second-wealthiest U.S. state by median household income as of 2014.
New Jersey was inhabited by Native Americans for more than 2,800 years, with historical tribes such as the Lenape along the coast. In the early 17th century, the Dutch and the Swedes made the first European settlements. The English later seized control of the region, naming it the Province of New Jersey after the largest of the Channel Islands, Jersey, and granting it as a colony to Sir George Carteret and John Berkeley, 1st Baron Berkeley of Stratton. New Jersey was the site of several decisive battles during the American Revolutionary War in the 18th century.
This is a list of turnpike roads, built and operated by private companies in exchange for the privilege of collecting a toll, in the U.S. state of New Jersey, mainly in the 19th century. While most of the roads are now maintained as free public roads, some have been abandoned.
The New Jersey Turnpike (NJTP), colloquially known to New Jerseyans as "the Turnpike", is a toll road in New Jersey, maintained by the New Jersey Turnpike Authority. According to the International Bridge, Tunnel and Turnpike Association, the Turnpike is the nation's sixth-busiest toll road and is one of the most heavily traveled highways in the United States. Having a total length of 122.40 mi (196.98 km), the Turnpike's southern terminus begins at Interstate 295 (I-295) near the border of Pennsville and Carneys Point Townships in Salem County, one mile east of the Delaware Memorial Bridge. Its northern terminus is located at the George Washington Bridge in Fort Lee, Bergen County. The Turnpike is a major thoroughfare providing access to various localities in New Jersey, as well as Delaware, Pennsylvania, and New York. The route divides into four roadways at exit 6, with lanes restricted to carrying only cars, and with lanes for cars, trucks and buses.
The northern part of the mainline turnpike, along with the entirety of its extensions and spurs, is part of the Interstate Highway System, designated as I-95 between exit 6 and its northern end. South of exit 6, it has the unsigned Route 700 designation. There are two extensions and two spurs, including the Newark Bay Extension, which carries I-78; the Pennsylvania Turnpike Extension (officially the Pearl Harbor Memorial Turnpike Extension); the Eastern Spur and the Western Spur. Construction of the mainline from conceptualization to completion took 23 months, from 1950 to 1952. It was officially opened to traffic in November 1951, between its southern terminus and exit 10.
Follows the NJ Turnpike (I-95) South from the Lincoln Tunnel exit to I-78 Westbound through the Watchung Reservation.
Follows I-78 West from it's final miles in New Jersey across the Delaware River and by passing the Lehigh Valley to the south in Eastern Pennsylvania.

I-5 continues northwest from downtown as the San Diego Freeway[11] until it reaches its junction with I-8, then turns slightly to the north while passing near SeaWorld and Mission Bay. Thereafter, I-5 interchanges with the western end of SR 52 before passing through the UC San Diego campus in University City near La Jolla. At Nobel Drive (exit 28A), the San Diego LDS Temple towers over I-5.[12] Shortly afterward, I-5 interchanges with the northern terminus of I-805 before continuing north and interchanging with the western end of SR 56. At this interchange, there is a recently completed local bypass that provides the only access to Carmel Mountain Road from both directions and provides the only access to SR 56 going northbound.[8] North of the San Diego city limits, I-5 enters into the ci...

After leaving Exit 78 and back on I-80 I was praising God for keeping me safe. Absolutely the nastiest exit ever! We'll take a detour down U.S. 95 to get some shots of the desert and to consult the map. Back on I-80 we keep moving East we pass Lovelock to Winnemucca. After eating, grabbing a Motel 6 guide, and filling up at the Flying J we stay on I-80 passing Battle Mountain and Carlin to Elko. At Carlin there's a tunnel called Carlin Tunnel. Very fitting as it's called that as it's at CARLIN, NV! At Elko we'll check into the Motel 6, then went exploring. Found a unnamed town just East of Elko where the streets have so many potholes it makes Omaha's streets look great. Turned West to see the most beautiful sunset. Had to stop to capture it. Back to the Motel where it was twilight. For the...
After a restful night we hit I-80 East again. My wonderful inverter dies early in the record so I "had" to pull off the road to reset it. Back on the road we stop in Wells, NV to top off the tank and fill my tummy up. Then it's off to Wendover for a job interview with WKTV-TV in Utica, NY. Then it's off to Utah and the Bonneville Salt Flats. We'll detour I-80 on Utah Route 201 and 202 to a frontage road along I-80 where we'll pull over to get the mountains. Back on I-80 we pass the Airport and on to Salt Lake City. We'll pull off the Interstate on to State St. We'll top off the gas tank and change discs at a Holiday gas station. This was taken later the same day as the last video and shows a portion of my return trip from my visit to the Stockertown, PA area. In this video we see parts of PA 33, Interstate 78, and PA 611. The music is three Sonic the Hedgehog remixes.
Flying along Interstate 78 and Garden State Parkway over Newark Millburn and Irvington Highschool 0:34 Maplewood and some other suburbs in New Jersey NJ at night with a Cessna 172.
The longest drive
On the darkest highway
To the brightest city and
I have fallen asleep
Didn't know that this would be our last drive
Do we live for the heat of the moment
Of do dreams pass by without knowing?
If you're with me let's get up and get going!
C'mon let's go, c'mon let's go!
At least we can say that we
