Edinburgh Man #216 Repost

October 24th, 2015

Due to some technical issues regarding the download this is a full-on repost of Thursday’s podcast.

Well this is a bit strange. I haven’t recorded a podcast during the hours of daylight for a while, and certainly not during the actual day. Turns out it’s just as shambolic during the afternoon as it is in the evening. I blame it on the fact I’m recording this on an empty stomach. Which reminds me… I need to put the tea on…

1. Lush Purr – “Rut” (Played courtesy of Song by Toad Records, Released under a Creative Commons licence)
2. La Misma – “Kanizadi” (Played courtesy of LA VIDA ES UN MUS DISCOS, Released under a Creative Commons licence)
3. SHARDS – “Sad Sionara, Goodbye” (Played courtesy of Shards )
4. Amber Arcades – “Constant’s Dream” (Played courtesy of Amber Arcades, Released under a Creative Commons licence)

Edinburgh Man #215

It’s school vacation week here in Edinburgh. Which means very little for me since Edinburgh Man Junior is still at nursery, although for everyone else who I work with it means 5 days of child wrangling. So basically I’m on my own in work for a week. As such I spent much of the day “working” in Artisan Roast. This was mostly nice and chilled out. Except for the time about 20 people tried to squeeze into the place. One guy even live streamed the queue on “Periscope”. I’m not entirely sure why anyone would wish to do such a thing, let alone watch it. Although apparently people from Moscow “said hello”. So if that was you, I was the guy in the background with his head down attempting to ignore the whole thing.

Edinburgh Man #214

October 8th, 2015

Another hastily prepared podcast. Actually, I quite like doing this on the hoof. I can’t believe I used to spend hours finely crafting the show only to incompetently bumble my way though it anyway. I reckon this “as live recording” is as good as any other – although I do tend to babble about my new phone way more than anyone (myself included) is likely to be interested in. The thing is, and to paraphrase “Clerks”, I shouldn’t even really be here – I should have got my ass into gear and have gone to see Low in Glasgow tonight. But I didn’t. So you get this show instead. The sacrifices I make for my “art”…

1. Family Selection Box – “breaking all the pieces apart” (Played courtesy of Family Selection Box, Released under a Creative Commons licence)
2. HIGH SUNN – “Long Distance” (Played courtesy of Bleeding Gold Records)
3. HEHFU – “Flowers” (Played courtesy of HEHFU)
