The term Navajo Pueblitos, also known as Dinétah Pueblitos, refers to a class of archaeological sites that are found in the northwestern corner of the American state of New Mexico. The sites generally consist of relatively small stone and timber structures which are believed to have been built by the Navajo people in the late 17th and early 18th centuries.
The sites are located within the cultural area known as the Dinétah, the traditional homeland of the Navajo tribe of Native Americans. Pueblitos [pweβˈlitos] are generally found in defensible locations along mesa rims and on isolated outcrops and boulders. The structures themselves can consist of from one to six rooms, and take the form of multi-storied towers, cliff dwellings, and fort-like enclosures.
The majority of pueblito sites are located on lands administered by the United States Bureau of Land Management in Rio Arriba and San Juan counties, New Mexico. Pueblitos, as well as a large number of other early Navajo sites are clustered in the Largo and Gobernador canyons, which drain in a north and westerly direction to the San Juan River.

The Simon Canyon Ruin is a small, one-room pueblito built on top of an isolated 20-foot tall boulder on a narrow bench overlooking Simon Canyon. It is unique in that it is north of the San Juan River, which traditionally formed the border between the Navajo and the Utes. It is also one of the last pueblitos built in the area, in 1754. Placing the Stars baskets have become a classic among contemporary Navajo basket makers. The story, which illustrates how chaotic Coyote irritated cautious First Man during the creation of our universe, has become universal. Lorraine Black has pulled the tale together in a tightly woven, concisely detailed basket that may stand for eons as a reminder of the richness of Navajo culture. This star should be included in your own space. http://www.twinrocks.com/products/8972-southwest-jewelry-baskets-navajo-jewelry-native-american-art-jewelry-pottery-weaving-rug-blanket-manta-necklace-turquoise-twin-rocks-trading-post-zuni-santo-domingo-fetish-hopi.html
