IMDb 2013-12-18The Prince of Egypt is a 1998 American animated musical drama film and the first traditionally animated film produced and released by DreamWorks Animation. The film is an adaptation of the Book of Exodus and follows the life of Moses from being a prince of Egypt to his ultimate destiny to lead the children of Israel out of Egypt. The film was directed by Brenda Chapman, Simon Wells and Steve Hickner. The film featured songs written by Stephen Schwartz and a score composed by Hans Zimmer. The voice cast featured a number of major Hollywood actors in the speaking roles, while professional singers replaced them for the songs. The exceptions were Michelle Pfeiffer, Ralph Fiennes, Ofra Haza, Steve Martin, and Martin Short, who sang their own parts.
The film was nominated for best Original Music Score and won for Best Original Song at the 1999 Academy Awards for "When You Believe". The pop version of the song was performed at the ceremony by Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey. The song, co-written by Stephen Schwartz, Hans Zimmer and with additional production by Babyface, was nominated for Best Original Song (in a Motion Picture) at the 1999 Golden Globes, and was also nominated for Outstanding Performance of a Song for a Feature Film at the ALMA Awards.
Egypt i/ˈiːdʒɪpt/ (Arabic: مصر, Miṣr, Egyptian Arabic: [mɑsˤɾ] ; Coptic: Ⲭⲏⲙⲓ, Kīmi ; Sahidic Coptic: ⲕⲏⲙⲉ, Kēme), officially the Arab Republic of Egypt, Arabic: جمهوريّة مصر العربيّة (help·info), is a country mainly in North Africa, with the Sinai Peninsula forming a land bridge in Southwest Asia. Egypt is thus a transcontinental country, and a major power in Africa, the Mediterranean Basin, the Middle East and the Muslim world. Covering an area of about 1,010,000 square kilometers (390,000 sq mi), Egypt is bordered by the Mediterranean Sea to the north, the Gaza Strip and Israel to the northeast, the Red Sea to the east, Sudan to the south and Libya to the west.
Egypt is one of the most populous countries in Africa and the Middle East. The great majority of its over 81 million people live near the banks of the Nile River, in an area of about 40,000 square kilometers (15,000 sq mi), where the only arable land is found. The large areas of the Sahara Desert are sparsely inhabited. About half of Egypt's residents live in urban areas, with most spread across the densely populated centres of greater Cairo, Alexandria and other major cities in the Nile Delta.
Mariah Carey (born March 27, 1970) is an American singer, songwriter, record producer, and actress. She made her recording debut in 1990 under the guidance of Columbia Records executive Tommy Mottola, and released her self-titled debut studio album, Mariah Carey. The album went multi-platinum and spawned four consecutive number one singles, on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart. Following her marriage to Mottola in 1993, a series of hit records, including Emotions (1991), Music Box (1993) and Merry Christmas (1994), established her position as Columbia's highest-selling act. Daydream (1995), made music history when the second single, "One Sweet Day" a duet with Boyz II Men, spent a record sixteen weeks on top of the Billboard Hot 100, and remains the longest running number one song in US chart history. During the recording of the album Carey began to deviate from her pop background, and slowly traversed into R&B and Hip-hop. After her separation from Mottola, this musical change was evident with the release of Butterfly (1997).
Now I see his face, I've seen him smile
Such in a lonely place, no golden mile
His eyes tell morbid tales, of his black heart
His deeds through ages past, tell of his part
See his face, see his smile
Time to die
An angel from below, change my dreams
I want for glory's hour, for wealth's esteem
I wish to sell my soul, to be reborn
I wish for earthly riches, don't want no crown of thorns
See his face, see his smile
Time to die
I was born a fool, don't want to stay that way
Devil take my soul, with diamonds you repay
I don't care for heaven, don't you look for me to cry
And I will burn in Hell, from the day I die
See his face, see his smile
At dead of night, a shadow floats in
I'm gripped in pleasure I'm gripped in fright
Howling once again for innocent blood
An all-time loser, but you're my God, Mr.Lee
Down on my knees with the face in the dirt, I obey the
master
Live on the scraps you scorn, treat me like a grinded
worm
[Refrain:]
Oh, prince arise from the ashes again
My prince arise come and hear my plea, come and hear
my plea
Oh, prince arise from the ashes again
My prince arise come and hear my plea, come and hear
my plea
He's an English gentleman
His bloodshot eyes they hypnotize
He just stands there and watches me
Frozen blood in my veins, but I like it
Down on my knees with the face in the dirt, I obey the
master
Live on the scraps you scorn, treat me like a grinded
worm
[Refrain:]
Oh, prince arise from the ashes again
My prince arise come and hear my plea, come and hear
my plea
Oh, prince arise from the ashes again
My prince arise come and hear my plea, come and hear
my plea
Your slave, I'm your slave punish me - A servant of
the dark
Your slave, I'm your slave punish me
An unholy creature a child of the night
Let me be, let me be your renfield I'll do everything
you want
Let me be, let me be your renfield I'll give you
everything you need
[Solo: Lohmann]
All alone I go through the night
Along the walk ways wandering
With an empty bottle that fills my life
A sleeping lullaby's scares a mice
Hard to lay on a bed of ice
But I refuse to face the truth
And this is all that I can do
My heart is here in God it lays
I'm just like you oh, please don't run Away
Hey you! Pass and then you never stop
If you want have a little time to talk
I never loose my dignity
I am the prince
So why are you afraid of me?
It's you and your eyes don't wanna see
No way to loose my dignity
Things never change
I live my life alone among you
Every single day and every night
The life you're worried about tonight
You have to know it's all for me
My one and only way to be
My heart is here in God it lays
So don't avoid me
I'm just like you oh, please don't run Away
Hey you! Pass and then you never stop
If you want have a little time to talk
I never loose my dignity
I am the prince
So why are you afraid of me?
It's you and your eyes don't wanna see
No way to loose my dignity
Things never change
I live my life alone among you
Hey you! Pass and then you never stop
If you want have a little time to talk
I never loose my dignity
I am the prince
So why are you afraid of me?
It's you and your eyes don't wanna see
No way to loose my dignity
Things never change
Hey you! Pass and then you never stop
If you want have a little time to talk
I never loose my dignity
I am the prince
Things never change
I walk alone

Buster, he sold the heat
With a rock-steady beat
An earthquake is erupting
But not in Orange street
A ghost-dance is preparing
You got to help us with your feet
If you're not in the mood to dance
Step back, grab yourself a seat
This may not be uptown Jamaica
But we promise you a treat
Buster bowl me over with your bogus dance
Shuffle me off my feet
Even though I'll keep on runnin'
I'll never get to Orange street
So I set it up myself to say
For the man who set the beat
So I'll leave it up to you out there
To get him back on his feet
Buster bowl me over with your bogus dance
Shuffle me off my feet
Even though I'll keep on runnin'
I'll never get to Orange street
Bring back the
