Now, a quarter century after the events, it seems incredible:
the team of the University of North Carolina, Jordan has played 108 matches and only four of them, he was able to overcome the 30-point line ... And in the final three games of his performance was 32 points. And only in this match he was able to gain much more (39 points + 7 rebounds 3 assists), and set your personal best performance in a student team! By the way, in this game, Jordan scored 56% points sovey team !!! For the first time on the site was the same Michael !!!
The average per game in the years 1981-1984 student Jordan scored only 17.8 points ... But since 1986, the year of any match in which he threw at least 30 points, was considered a failure for him! For example, in the 1986/87 season only 15 games and 82's, Michael has not reached the mark of 30 points, and his performance was average 36.9 points per game!
And at the time of this game nobody in the world knew what scale player enters the court in North Carolina T-shirt !!! But the unknown soldier invisible front records and stores a record for posterity the student match Jordan, and now we have a unique opportunity to see how it was!
After watching these games you will learn as a student with the usual statistical indicators in just a few years it has become a supersnaypera from God, and later became the best igrkov in the history of basketball!

A couple of misses by Chauncey Billups kept the Philadelphia 76ers the NBA's biggest hit.
Billups missed a wild layup and the potential tying free throws in the final seconds as the 76ers remained undefeated with an 84-82 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Eric Snow scored 22 points, including two free throws that gave the 76ers apparent control at 83-79 with 26 seconds remaining. But Kevin Garnett, who earlier missed two key free throws, made a 3-pointer to cut the deficit to one point with 16 seconds to go.
Snow went to the line again and converted 1-of-2 and Billups pushed the ball upcourt, looking for the tying layup. But he was pressured all the way and threw up a wild shot over Theo Ratliff that was rebounded by George Lynch, who was fouled with 6.6 seconds left.
Lynch, an inconsistent foul shooter, missed both to give the Timberwolves another chance. Billups again penetrated and drew a foul from Snow with 0.9 seconds to play. But the career 87 percent foul shooter missed the first and screamed in anguish.
Billups intentionally missed the second but Tyrone Hill batted away the ball as time expired, giving Philadelphia its sixth straight win.
"It was a tough shooting night and we still had a chance to win," Billups said. "We got what we wanted. It just didn't work out."
The 76ers matched their best start in 21 years. The 1982-83 squad also won its first six games en route to the NBA title. The 1979-80 team won its first eight and reached the NBA Finals.
"All it means is that we're giving ourselves a chance for home court in the playoffs," Snow said. "That's all it means."
"It means a lot, because it's great for the fans of Philly," backcourt mate Allen Iverson said. "It's great that they get an opprtunity to see a competitive team."
Iverson overcame a rough first half to score 18 points for the Sixers, who are joined by Cleveland and Utah as the NBA's only unbeaten teams. Philadelphia overcame 41 percent shooting (28-of-68) and 21 turnovers with a 56-35 rebounding advantage and a 28-9 edge in points from the line.
Garnett scored 24 points and Billups added 20 for the Wolves, which has lost three in a row for the first time since dropping four straight last February. Minnesota shot just 39 percent (34-of-87) as it suffered its second straight two-point setback.
Conversely, Philadelphia again is making a habit of winning close games. The Sixers are 2-0 in games decided by three points or less after going a league-best 17-8 last season.
The fourth quarter featured 10 lead changes and four ties. The largest lead was 74-70 on Billups' 3-pointer with 4:15 to play. Snow answered with a three-point play and Aaron McKie sank a jumper, giving the Sixers a 75-74 edge with 3:29 to go.
"Eric has been great all season," Sixers coach Larry Brown said. "He made some unbelievable plays tonight. He made some big free throws, he had a big three-point play. ... Eric is learning about himself and his teammates have confidence in him."
Garnett had a three-point play but Snow hit a tying jumper and drew a charge from Brandon. Iverson made the go-ahead free throw with 1:16 left and Garnett surprisingly missed a pair 11 seconds later. Minnesota was 9-of-20 from the line.
McKie made another jumper with 48 seconds remaining and Theo Ratliff made 1-of-2 free throws before Garnett sank two, making it 81-79.
Ratliff, Hill and Lynch dominated the paint with 14, 13 and 12 rebounds, respectively. They combined for 25 points and did a credible job on Garnett.
"We definitely wanted to be aggressive on the offensive boards and defensive boards," Ratliff said. "George, Ty and myself just tried to get every single rebound."
"They may be the best offensive and defensive rebounding team in the league," Billups said. "We knew that going in and we needed to get bodies on them."

Championship in Philadelphia
With Houston rebuilding their roster, the Rockets allowed restricted free agent Malone to explore options in the free agency market. He signed an offer sheet with the Philadelphia 76ers on September 2. Houston then exercised its right of first refusal and matched the offer, only to trade Malone to the 76ers on September 15 for Caldwell Jones and their 1983 first-round draft choice.
Philadelphia added the Most Valuable Player of 1982 to a mix that already included Julius Erving, Andrew Toney, Maurice Cheeks and Bobby Jones. The result was an NBA championship—and the second straight MVP Award for Malone (becoming the only NBA player ever to win the MVP award in consecutive seasons with two different teams, a feat only matched by Barry Bonds (1992–93) in the four major sports).
Now in his seventh season of professional basketball (fifth in the NBA), Malone led the league in rebounding (15.3 rpg) for a third consecutive year. With Erving (21.4 ppg) and Toney (19.7) making strong scoring contributions, Malone's average dipped to 24.5 points per game, still good enough for fifth in the NBA.
An All-Star for a sixth straight time, Malone made the All-NBA First Team and the NBA All-Defensive First Team at season's end. The 76ers lost only one postseason contest en route to the league championship, concluding their title run with a four-game sweep of the Los Angeles Lakers in the 1983 NBA Finals. Malone averaged 26.0 points and 15.8 rebounds in 13 postseason games and was named Most Valuable Player of the Finals. It was also around this time that Malone began to tutor a young Nigerian big man in Houston by the name of Hakeem Olajuwon, passing on the torch to the future Rockets superstar.
His head coach Billy Cunningham said, "The difference from last year was Moses" (the Lakers had beaten the 76ers in the 1982 NBA Finals). Before the playoffs began, reporters asked him how well the 76ers would do. Malone famously said "fo', fo', fo'" (four, four, four)—in other words, saying that the 76ers needed to win four games in each of the 3 rounds. The media misinterpreted this as a prediction the 76ers would sweep all three rounds to win the title, in the minimum 12 games. As it turned out, the Sixers only lost one playoff game (Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Finals to the Bucks) en route to making Malone a world champion for the first time, sweeping the Knicks and Lakers along the way. This led some to rephrase Malone's prediction as "fo', fi', fo'" (four, five, four). Indeed, the inside of that year's championship ring was inscribed with "fo' fi' fo."
The 76ers' 12–1 record in the playoffs became the second-most-dominant playoff run in NBA history (the 2001 Lakers went 15–1 in the extended four-round playoff set-up). However, this would turn out be the last championship for the city of Philadelphia until the Phillies won the 2008 World Series.

wn.com/(( Moses Malone's )) Famous Hall Of Fame Speech

It was like any other day in our newsroom.
I was hanging out in our news director Tom Stathakes' office when someone came in and said that Allen Iverson was holding a press conference within the hour outside the Sixers locker room, which is located a level below our Wells Fargo Center newsroom.
Four days earlier the Sixers had been eliminated from the NBA playoffs and Iverson had yet to speak to reporters since the humiliating 33-point loss to the Celtics. Stathakes without missing a beat told me, "Why don't you ask him why he doesn't show up at practice."
So that is the origin of the now infamous "practice" press conference, which was 10 years ago on Monday. I was the person who initiated the practice questioning to Iverson. Remarkably the press conference and the 24 references by Iverson to the word "practice" remains one of the most memorable pressers in sports history. How many times have you seen people mock Iverson's practice rant? Heck Larry Brown did it two weeks ago when he was named Head Coach at SMU.
The press conference lasted 31 minutes and for a good 25 minutes Iverson was combative, heartfelt, honest and pure A.I., which made for great television. We carried the press conference live on Comcast SportsNet during Daily News Live and into Sportsnite. After a few minutes addressing the season and the loss to the Celtics, my question about Allen's practice habits stirred the pot. We had an exchange back and forth and before you knew it, the 15 or so reporters in attendance started digging further into "practice." Iverson was a year removed from being named league MVP and leading the 76ers to the NBA finals, and he felt he didn't need to answer questions about his practice habits because of what he brought to the games. No argument there but I do believe that Allen had the ability to make his teammates better and set a better example for his teammates.
It never happened.
The A.I era moved on without a championship and I can only image how many times Iverson has been asked or heard someone say "practice"? It didn't define his career but it will forever be part of the Allen Iverson mystique, which was tumultuous just like the press conference.

History of the Philadelphia 76ers
The Philadelphia 76ers are a professional basketball team based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. They play in the Atlantic Division of the Eastern Conference of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Founded in 1946 and originally known as the Syracuse Nationals, they are one of the oldest franchises in the NBA, and only one of eight (out of 23) to survive the league's first decade. After their move to Philadelphia in 1963, a contest was held to decide on their new name. The winning name, chosen by Walter Stalberg, was the "76ers", as a "tribute to the gallant men who forged this country's independence" in 1776.
The 76ers have had a rich history, with many of the greatest players in NBA history having played for the organization, including Wilt Chamberlain, Julius Erving, Moses Malone, Charles Barkley, and Allen Iverson. They have won three NBA championships, with their first coming as the Syracuse Nationals in 1955. The second title came in the 1966--67 season, a team which was led by Chamberlain. The third title came in the 1982--83 season, won by a team led by Erving and Malone. ((""Micheal -Sugar- Ray Richardson"")) (born April 11, 1955) is an American former professional basketball player and head coach. He most recently was head coach of London Lightning of the National Basketball League of Canada. Richardson played college basketball for the Montana Grizzlies. He played in the NBA for eight years, most notably for the New York Knicks and New Jersey Nets.
NBA career[edit]
Richardson was born in Lubbock, Texas. The New York Knicks drafted him with the fourth pick overall in the 1978 NBA Draft, and he was billed as "the next Walt Frazier." Two picks later, the Boston Celtics drafted Larry Bird. In his second year, Richardson became the third player in NBA history (1. Slick Watts - 1976, 2. Don Buse - 1977 to lead the league in both assists (10.1) and steals (3.2), setting Knicks franchise records in both categories.
At the beginning of the 1982-83 season, he was sent to the Golden State Warriors as compensation for the New York Knicks signing Bernard King as a free agent. After playing only 33 games for the Warriors, Richardson was traded to the New Jersey Nets. He would be named an all-star as a Net, playing on the Eastern Conference all-star team that allegedly froze out Michael Jordan. In the 1984 playoffs, Richardson led the Nets to a shocking upset of the defending champion Philadelphia 76ers. In the fifth and deciding game, he scored 24 points and had six steals. While the Knicks showed mild improvement after trading Richardson, that improvement was short-lived, ending when King was felled by a devastating knee injury midway through the 1984-85 season.
In 1986, NBA commissioner David Stern banned Richardson for life after Richardson violated the league's drug policy three times. Richardson's right to play in the NBA was restored in 1988, but he failed two cocaine tests in 1991, though he disputed the results.
He bitterly complained that the suspensions he received from the NBA were unfair given the fact that Chris Mullin was never disciplined by the league for his well-documented alcohol problem, implying that this "double standard" existed because Richardson is African-American while Mullin is white, and became a frequently cited example of destructive lifestyles in the NBA. He was the subject of the 2000 film Whatever Happened to Micheal Ray?, a look at his troubled life. It was narrated by Chris Rock.
CBA & Europe career[edit]
Richardson went on to play a few seasons in the Continental Basketball Association and United States Basketball League as well as 14 seasons in Europe. There, he signed with Virtus Bologna, a prominent European team, in 1988 and remained 3 seasons. With the Virtus Bologna he won the Cup Winners' Cup in 1990. In Italy, he stayed 2 seasons (1992–1993 and following) in Baker Livorno and 1 (1998–1999) in Montana Forlì. He also won the French championship with Olympique Antibes in 1995.
Coaching in the CBA[edit]
On December 14, 2004, he was named head coach of the Albany Patroons in the Continental Basketball Association. This is Richardson's second stint with the Patroons; he played for the team during the 1987-88 season, in which Albany won its second CBA championship.
2007 ((""suspension""))
On March 28, 2007, he was suspended for the rest of the CBA championship series for his comments in an interview with the Albany Times Union newspaper, in which he stated that Jews were "crafty (because) they are hated worldwide."
Specifically, it was reported by the Times Union that before a game against the Yakama Sun Kings, Richardson made anti-Semitic comments to two reporters in his office when discussing the contract general manager Jim Coyne had offered him to coach his team in the CBA and USBL. "I've got big-time lawyers," Richardson said. "I've got big-time Jew lawyers."
When told by the reporters that the comment could be offensive to people because it plays to the stereotype that Jews are crafty and shrewd, he responded with:
"Are you kidding me? They are. They've got the best security system in the world. Have you ever been to an airport in Tel Aviv? They're real crafty. Listen, they are hated all over the world, so they've got to be crafty. They got a lot of power in this world, you know what I mean? Which I think is great. I don't think there's nothing wrong with it. If you look in most professional sports, they're run by Jewish people. If you look at a lot of most successful corporations and stuff, more businesses, they're run by Jewish [sic]. It's not a knock, but they are some crafty people."

I don't think there's nothing wrong with it. If you look in most professional sports, they're run by Jewish people. If you look at a lot of most successful corporations and stuff, more businesses, they're run by Jewish [sic]. It's not a knock, but they are some crafty people."
