He averaged 12.4 points and 7.0 rebounds for the Bulldogs in his last season. The Big South’s defensive player of the year, he led them to a school-record 23 wins. 8. Paul "Tiny" Sturgess-England Height-7’7.26 Paul Sturgess (born November 25, 1987) is an English professional basketball player. He was officially measured by Guinness World Records in November 2011 at 7 ft 7.26 in (2.3180 m) and 325 lb (147 kg). Sturgess was the tallest ever college basketball player in the United States and is the tallest professional basketball player in the world. Paul “Tiny” Sturgess was “drafted” by the Harlem Globetrotters in August 2011 and is the tallest ever to play for the team. 7. Neil Fingleton-England Height-7’7.56 (born 18 December 1980) is an English actor and former basketball player. He is also the tallest British-born man at 7 ft 7.56 in (232.6 cm) in height and among the 25 tallest men in the World. This title has been confirmed by the Guinness Book of Records in the summer of 2007. 6. Manute Bol – Sudan Height : 7 ft 7 3/4 was a Sudanese-born basketball player and political activist. At 7 ft 7 in (2.31 m) tall, he was one of the tallest men ever to play in the National Basketball Association, along with Gheorghe Mureşan. He was officially measured and listed at 7 feet, 6 3/4 inches tall in the Guinness Book of World Records. 5. Yasutaka Okayam-Japan Height-7'8 Yasutaka Okayama (born November 29, 1954 in Kumamoto Prefecture, Japan) was the tallest basketball player drafted in National Basketball Association history. This 7’8″ center was selected by the Golden State Warriors as the 10th pick of the eighth round of the 1981 Draft, although he did not sign with them. He represented Japan between 1979 and 1986 before he retired in 1996. 4. Ri Myung Hun – North Korea Height-7’8.5 Ri Myung-Hun, also known as Michael Ri is a former North Korean basketball player. Once proclaimed to be the tallest living human being in the world, he stands 7’8½” (2.35m) tall and once planned to play in the National Basketball Association (NBA) in the 1990s. 3. Sun Ming Ming – China Height : 7 ft 9 in Sun Ming Ming is a Chinese basketball player. Mingming stands 7 ft 9 in (2.36 m) and weighing 370 lb (168 kg). 2. Alexander Sizonenko- Ukraine Height-7'10 He was measured by Guinness World Records at 2.39 m (7 ft 10 in) and named the world's tallest man in 1991. 1.Suleiman Ali Nashnush – Libya Height-8'.05 Suleiman Ali Nashnush is one of seventeen individuals in medical history to reach or surpass eight feet in height. He was a Libyan basketball player and actor.

Robert Joseph "Bob" Cousy (born August 9, 1928) is a retired American professional basketball player. Cousy played point guard with the Boston Celtics from 1950 to 1963 and briefly with the Cincinnati Royals in the 1969–70 season. Cousy first demonstrated his basketball abilities while playing for his high school varsity team in his junior year. He obtained a scholarship to the College of the Holy Cross, where he led the Crusaders to berths in the 1948 NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Tournament and 1950 NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Tournament and was named an NCAA All-American for 3 seasons. Cousy was initially drafted as the third overall pick in the first round of the 1950 NBA Draft by the Tri-Cities Blackhawks, but after he refused to report, he was picked up by Boston. Cousy had a very successful career with the Celtics, playing on six championship teams, being voted into 13 NBA All-Star Games and 12 All-NBA First and Second Teams and winning the NBA Most Valuable Player Award in 1957. In his first 11 seasons in the NBA, Cousy led the league in assists eight straight times and introduced a new blend of ball-handling and passing skills that earned him the nicknames "Cooz", "The Houdini of the Hardwood", and—as he was regularly introduced at Boston Garden—"Mr. Basketball". After his playing career, he coached the Royals for several years, and even made a short comeback for them at age 41. He then became a broadcaster for Celtics games. He was elected into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 1971, and in his honor, the Celtics retired his #14 jersey and hung it in the rafters of Boston Garden. Cousy was named to the NBA 25th Anniversary Team in 1971, the NBA 35th Anniversary Team in 1981, and the NBA's 50th Anniversary All-Time Team in 1996, making him one of only four players that were selected to each of those teams.
