Can New Zealand's notorious gangs be a positive force in their communities? From making sandwiches for needy children to having an older and wiser view of life, this report asks whether they are now coming of age.
New Zealand has one of the highest rates of gang membership per had of population in the world. They have forged a reputation for violence and illegal activities, but many now represent changing times. "We are not exactly the pillars of society. We understand that", explains Jamie Pink, leader of the Tribal Huk gang. But now, a new initiative by gang members is seeing them make and deliver free sandwiches children who would otherwise go without. "It gives you a reason to get up the next day", explains Pink. And while it will be hard to shake off their anti-social image, many like school principal Maria Hamill are starting to come round to the idea: "I think actions speak louder than words."

New Zealand justified their status as Rugby World Cup favourites but were pushed to the limit by South Africa to win the first RWC semi-final at Twickenham Stadium on Saturday.After a disappointing and indisciplined first half, the All Blacks turned the match on its head with a 10-point burst in the opening 12 minutes of the second half to secure a lead they would never lose.Dan Carter's kicking and tries from flanker Jerome Kaino and replacement wing Beauden Barrett were enough to see off the Springboks, who could score no more than six penalties, five of them from Handre Pollard.South Africa edged the first half 12-7, largely because the All Blacks presented them with nine penalties and Pollard kicked four of them.SUCCESSION OF OFFSIDESNew Zealand were ahead 7-3 thanks to a try after six minutes in the right-hand corner by Kaino and Carter?s conversion. But a succession of offsides and a yellow card for Kaino, for kicking the ball away when in an offside position, left the tournament favourites in a precarious position at halfway.The rain, light in the first half, was noticeably heavier at the start of the second and a piece of brilliance by Carter, who dropped a goal from 25-plus metres, cut the deficit to two points before Kaino returned.Julian Savea fumbled a clever grubber kick but it was only a temporary reprieve for South Africa. In the 52nd minute, Carter and Ma?a Nonu created space on the left for replacement wing Beauden Barrett (pictured above) to touch down and Carter converted from close to the touchline. Worse yet for the Springboks, Bryan Habana was sent to the sin bin for a deliberate knock-on in the build-up.South Africa battled back and Pollard?s penalty made it 17-15, only for Carter to kick it back to 20-15. With 11 minutes left, Pat Lambie, Pollard?s replacement, made it 20-18 to put the result on a knife-edge but, try as they might, the Springboks could never breach the New Zealand defence again.Follow World Rugby on social media:Official Website! http://www.rugbyworldcup.com,SUBSCRIBE to our YouTube Channel For More Great Videos https://youtube.com/user/irb,Follow us on Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/rugbyworldcup,Like us on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/rugbyworldcup and https://www.facebook.com/worldrugby,Follow us on Instagram: http://www.instagram.com/worldrugby,

Wellington
Wellington is the capital city and second most populous urban area of New Zealand. It is at the southwestern tip of the North Island, between Cook Strait and the Rimutaka Range. The urban area is home to 395,600 residents. The city council area has 202,200 people
The Wellington urban area is the major population centre of the southern North Island, and is the seat of the Wellington Region -- which in addition to the urban area covers the Kapiti Coast and Wairarapa. The urban area includes four cities: Wellington, on the peninsula between Cook Strait and Wellington Harbour, contains the central business district and about half of Wellington's population; Porirua on Porirua Harbour to the north is notable for its large Māori and Pacific Island communities; Lower Hutt and Upper Hutt are largely suburban areas to the northeast, together known as the Hutt Valley. Wellington also holds the distinction of being the world's southernmost capital city.In 2008, Wellington was classified as a Gamma World City in the World Cities Study Group's inventory by Loughborough University. The 2010 Mercer Quality of Living Survey ranked Wellington 12th in the world. In 2011 Lonely Planet Best in Travel 2011 named Wellington as fourth in its Top 10 Cities to Visit in 2011, referring to the New Zealand capital as the "coolest little capital in the world".
New Zealand's capital
In 1865, Wellington became the capital city of New Zealand, replacing Auckland, where William Hobson had placed the capital in 1841. The Parliament of New Zealand had first met in Wellington on 7 July 1862, on a temporary basis, but Wellington did not become the official capital city for three more years. In November 1863, the Prime Minister of New Zealand, Alfred Domett, places a resolution before Parliament (meeting in Auckland) that "... it has become necessary that the seat of government ... should be transferred to some suitable locality in Cook Strait [region]." Apparently, there had been some concerns that the more highly populated South Island (where the goldfields were located) would choose to form a separate colony in the British Empire. Several Commissioners invited from Australia (chosen for their neutral status to help resolve the question) declared that Wellington was a suitable location because of its central location in New Zealand and good harbour. Parliament officially met in Wellington for the first time on 26 July 1865. At that time, the population of Wellington was just 4,900.
As the national capital, Wellington is the location of the highest court of New Zealand, the Supreme Court. The historic former High Court building has been enlarged and restored for the use of the Supreme Court.Government House, the official residence of the Governor-General, is in Newtown, opposite the Basin Reserve. Premier House, the official residence of the Prime Minister, is in Thorndon on Tinakori Road.Wikipedia

If Queenstown was a person, it would be a teenager.
So the best way to appreciate Queenstown is to act like a teenager;
do things for the first time, like skydiving or bungy,
stay up and party all night,
and then laze about in a spa the next day.
Wenn Queenstown war ein Mensch, wäre es ein Teenager zu sein.
Der beste Weg nach Queenstown zu schätzen ist, wie ein Teenager verhalten;

https://www.expedia.com/Auckland.d178233.Destination-Travel-Guides
With 1.5 million lucky people calling Auckland home, this North Island gem is the most populous city in New Zealand. Auckland tourism is quite diverse, giving visitors a bounty of choices for how to spend their time. The city marries modern buildings and art with nature, and the surrounding region has plenty of its own attractions to offer.
Auckland is called the City of Sails, boasting more boats per capita than anywhere else in the world. Nestled between two natural harbors, it’s no wonder residents and visitors alike enjoy spending time on the water. After a breakfast in Elliott Stables, take off on a boat cruise from downtown to explore the sights of Hauraki Gulf.
With your feet back on solid ground, enjoy Auckland sightseeing and shopping along Queen Street. Jet over to Ponsonby, which is considered one of the more hip neighborhoods in Auckland. When lunchtime rolls around, find your way to Devonport, a lovely harborside suburb where you can enjoy a seafood lunch.
With a contented stomach, spend some time at Auckland Domain, the city’s oldest park. Watch a game of cricket, walk through the Formal Gardens, or take a leisurely stroll through the mature trees. If you’re interested in even more of New Zealand’s natural landscape, head just outside the city for rolling hills, jagged cliffs, and forests with towering treetops. Walk through the Hauna Ranges and you’ll be rewarded with the Hunua Falls, an impressive waterfall rushing over a volcanic edge.
Visitors interested in adventurous Auckland tours must head to the downtown Sky Tower before leaving New Zealand. This is the tallest man-made building in the entire country – and it offers a breathtaking base jump from the top. If you’re not in the mood for that much adrenaline, head to the observation platform to take in sweeping views of the city and harbor.
What do you most look forward to doing in Auckland?

Top Tourist Attractions in New Zealand
Milford Sound
========
Milford Sound is among the most famous tourist attractions in New Zealand. Lying at the most northern and accessible end of Fiordland National Park, Milford sound offers some of the world's most staggering coastal scenery with its dramatic peaks and dark blue waters. The area's frequent downpours only enhance this South Island beauty, sending numerous waterfalls cascading down the cliffs.
Bay of Islands
==========
The Bay of Islands is one of the most popular holiday destinations in New Zealand. The picturesque area contains 144 islands, many secluded bays and some great sandy beaches. This beautiful bay has an abundance of marine life including whales, penguins, dolphins and the big marlin. Not surprisingly, it is a popular tourist spot for sailing yachts on world cruises and international sport fishermen.
Tongariro National Park
===================
The first national park of New Zealand, Tongariro is known for its surprises and extremes. The park's diverse range of ecosystems includes tranquil lakes, active volcanoes, herb fields, untamed forests and desert-like plateaus. Start your trek at the Whakapapa Visitor Center, just a three hour hike from the stunning Taranaki Falls. The short hike will take you through scrubland and forest and across the lava line of volcanic eruptions from hundreds of years ago.
Rotorua
========
Rotorua is known as the thermal wonderland of New Zealand. There are numerous geysers and hot springs in and around the city. Many of these are in parks and reserves. Natural eruptions of steam, hot water and mud occasionally occur in new locations. Nearby Wai-O-Tapu is also a popular tourist attraction with many hot springs noted for their colorful appearance, in addition to the Lady Knox Geyser.
Franz Josef Glacier
=============
This glacier, located within Westland National Park in the southwest, is one of the world's most accessible. Visitors can walk right up to the foot of the massive glacier or take a helicopter ride over the dazzling Ice Age remnant. Together with Fox Glacier it is one of South Westland's major drawcards for tourists.
Kaikoura
========
This small coastal town on the South Island is a haven for seafood lovers. You can spot fur seals, dolphins, sperm whales and albatrosses off the shore, then indulge in a feast of fresh crayfish, mussels, blue cod and more. Land lovers can take a wilderness walk through the untamed and dramatic Kaikoura forest.
Napier Art Deco
========
Napier, a small city in Hawke's Bay on the North Island's east coast, is famous for its eye-catching art deco architecture. Most of Napier was leveled by an earthquake in 1931. The rebuilding period coincided with the short-lived Art Deco era and as a result Napier's architecture is strikingly different from any other city in the world. Thousands of tourist visit Napier every February for the Art Deco Weekend, an event dedicated to the style, vintage cars, picnics and the soapbox derby.
Sky Tower
===============
The Sky Tower is an observation and telecommunications tower located in New Zealand's largest city. At a height of 328 meters (1,076 ft) it is the tallest free-standing structure in the Southern Hemisphere and the Sky Tower has become an iconic structure in Auckland's skyline. The tower offers views of up to 80 km away and fine dining in the Orbit revolving restaurant.
Abel Tasman National Park
===============
Located on the northern tip of the country's South Island, this vast national park is a hiker's dream. Closed to vehicles, one must enter by boat, foot or small plane, but the trip is well worth it. While traversing the mountainous terrain, blue penguins, wekas, oyster catchers, wood pigeons and other rare birds can all be seen.
Coromandel Peninsula
==============
This north-eastern peninsula is famous for its white and golden sand beaches that frame magnificent coastal scenery, forests perfect for days of exploration and other natural wonders. Start your visit in Thames, a small but picturesque city with a rich history of gold mining. Don't miss a stop at Hot Water Beach, where visitors can dig their own hot pool from the springs under the sands.

New Zealand is known as the “Land of the Long White Cloud” to its native Maori people, and Wellington is its cultural, political, and culinary capital. In fact, Wellington is the southernmost capital in the entire world. This compact city is trendy, creative, and begging to be explored.
Wellington tourism is diverse; fresh ocean winds blow off the Cook Strait and invite you to kayak in the harbor or explore the beach. The compact city center is replete with street art and museums and imbued with creativity. Many Wellington tours begin with a cup of coffee at a downtown café. Once your eyes are open, take a walking tour of the area and observe the eclectic architecture, including the Parliament building and its beehive-shaped executive wing.
Next, ride a historic Wellington cable car from Lambton Quay to the Botanic Garden. Make your way back down on foot, weaving through the gardens on scenic paths. For a look at the history of this South Pacific capital, go to Te Papa National Museum, which outlines the country’s cultural heritage.
Cap off your day of Wellington sightseeing with a locally brewed beer on the wharf and enjoy some fine dining at one of the many cozy city center restaurants.
What do you look forward to doing most in Wellington?

Sri Lanka tour of New Zealand, 2nd Test: New Zealand v Sri Lanka at Hamilton, Dec 18-22, 2015
Chandimal didn't transform Sri Lanka's position in this series. At the end of day one, they had done better than expected, but New Zealand are more than capable of running this score down. But his seven fours and strike rate north of eighty did inspire them, however briefly. Like a baila tune, his innings enlivened the day.

The Pohutu Geyser and Kerosene Creek near Lake Rotorua, Waikato River and natural hotsprings near Taupo, Oriental Bay and Mt Victoria in Wellington, sailing through the Marlborough Sounds and driving down the Kaikoura Coastline.
Pretty epic trip all round. Met up with some fellow travelling entrepreneurs at Lake Rotorua and had a rad time!

Mommy and Gracie (and sometimes Daddy) are The Doll Hunters. They will go anywhere to find Monster High Dolls! They also collect My Little Pony, Ever After High, anything Disney, especially Frozen, American Girl, Barbie, Minecraft, Littlest Pet Shop, Shopkins, FUNKO, and all kinds of blind bags and mystery minis. Their doll and toy reviews are family friendly and kid friendly, but fun and always filled with laughs. They are a very close family who are often silly, always funny and kids and adults both can relate to them!

By boat we pay a visit to Rangitoto Island, the largest volcanoe in the neighbourhood of Auckland. After that, we visit Kelly Tarlton's Underwater World, a unique Aquarium. After these touristic tours near Auckland we board the Geyserland Express, which takes us to Rotorua. In Rotorua, we visit two gigantic volcanic parks with lots of geysers and hot springs. After that, we make a boat tour on the Whanganui River, after which we head for Napier. This city is known as art Deco city. Here we embark on an excursion to Cape Kidnappers, hot to two gannet colonies and the only colonies of this bird on the mainland. In the afternoon, we board the Bay Express that will take us to the capital of New Zealand; Wellington. Here we board the Wellington Cable Car, which takes us to the Kelburn neighbourhood. From this point, we have a magnificent overview over Wellington. The journey ends in the most famous wine district of New Zealand, around the town of Martinborough.
