There were 26 shows in total all narrated by Richard Keys, 25 featuring one footballer for each show. It's football gold, Manchester United's 2-1 win over Bayern Munich, 26th May 1999. Manchester United and Bayern Munich had only met twice in competitive matches before the '99 final, so anything could happen. But after a dodgy start United snatched victory from the jaws of defeat.

Peter Bolesław Schmeichel MBE (Danish pronunciation: [ped̥ɐ ˈsmɑɪ̯ˀɡ̊l̩]; born 18 November 1963) is a retired Danish professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper, and was voted the "World's Best Goalkeeper" in 1992 and 1993. He is best remembered for his most successful years at English club Manchester United, whom he captained to the 1999 UEFA Champions League to complete the Treble, and for winning UEFA Euro 1992 with Denmark.
Born in Gladsaxe, Copenhagen, Schmeichel was famous for his intimidating physique (he is 1.91 m (6 ft 3 in) tall and weighed about 105 kg (16 st 7 lb) during his playing days. He wore specially made size XXXL football shirts. Unusual for a goalkeeper, Schmeichel scored 11 goals during his career, including one for the national team. He is also the most capped player for the Denmark national team, with 129 games between 1987 and 2001. In addition to Euro 92, he played for his country at the 1998 FIFA World Cup and three additional European Championship tournaments. He captained the national team in 30 matches.

Edwin van der Sar OON (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈɛtʋɪn vɑn dɛr ˈsɑr]) (born 29 October 1970) is a Dutch former footballer who played as a goalkeeper for Ajax, Juventus, Fulham and Manchester United. He is the most capped player in the Netherlands national team's history. He currently works as an analyst and has stated an interest in coaching in the near future.
He started his senior career at Ajax and is considered to be a member of a golden generation of players at the club. He remained there for nine years before moving to Italian club Juventus and then to England, first to Fulham and then to Manchester United. He is one of the few footballers to have won the UEFA Champions League with two different teams – with Ajax in 1995 and Manchester United in 2008; in the latter, he was also named UEFA Man of the Match. Van der Sar also won the UEFA Cup with Ajax in 1992.
Throughout a long and successful career, Van der Sar achieved and set numerous records. In the 2008–09 season he set the world league clean sheet record by not conceding a single goal for 1,311 minutes. Along with being the most capped player for the Netherlands national team, with 130 caps, he is also the oldest player to win the Premier League, at 40 years and 205 days old. Individually Van der Sar has won several honours, including Best European Goalkeeper in 1995 and 2009, and UEFA Club Goalkeeper of the Year in 2009. He is considered, by critics and fellow players, as one of the greatest goalkeepers of all time.

With a rare defeat looming for the 1997 Manchester United team, Peter Schmeichel came sprinting up the field for a last minute corner. Having scored against Rotor Volgograd he once again came into the box in the hope of rescuing the FA Cup 4th round replay. With the ball coming towards him and facing the other way from the goal he improvised, hitting a sweet overhead kick into the bottom corner...only to be (rightly) called offside. Unfortunately for him what would have been one of the greatest goals by a keeper.

With a rare defeat looming for the 1997 Manchester United team, Peter Schmeichel came sprinting up the field for a last minute corner. Having scored against Rotor Volgograd he once again came into the box in the hope of rescuing the FA Cup 4th round replay. With the ball coming towards him and facing the other way from the goal he improvised, hitting a sweet overhead kick into the bottom corner...only to be (rightly) called offside. Unfortunately for him what would have been one of the greatest goals by a keeper. -

With a rare defeat looming for the 1997 Manchester United team, Peter Schmeichel came sprinting up the field for a last minute corner. Having scored against Rotor Volgograd he once again came into the box in the hope of rescuing the FA Cup 4th round replay. With the ball coming towards him and facing the other way from the goal he improvised, hitting a sweet overhead kick into the bottom corner...only to be (rightly) called offside. Unfortunately for him what would have been one of the greatest goals by a keeper.

Jogou no Manchester United durante a década de 90, onde conquistou a Liga dos Campeões, encerrando a carreira justamente no maior rival dos Diabos Vermelhos, o Manchester City . Na época 1999/2000 o país desportivo foi surpreendido com a contratação de Peter Schmeichel pelo Sporting Clube de Portugal. O gigante dinamarquês tinha acabado de conquistar a Liga dos Campeões pelo Manchester United e decidiu desta forma abandonar o clube inglês pela porta grande, igualmente extenuado pelo ritmo de jogos efectuados com uma regularidade de três em três dias. A survivor of the Auschwitz death camp is now the world's oldest man, the Guinness World Records organisation says. Yisrael Kristal was born near Zarnow in Poland in 1903 and lived through two world wars before moving to the Israeli city of Haifa.
