He has...to seek to unite the party,” he said. Mr Miliband said he would not join the shadow Cabinet but stay on the backbenches. And he rejected claims the result would “annihilate” the party. “I don’t believe that. Shadow Health Minister Jamie Reed resigns Shadow health minister Jamie Reed was the first Blairite MP to resign from the front bench this morning. “No amount of well-meaning will protect the NHS. Only an elected Labour Government will do this,” he warned in a letter to Mr Corbyn, published by Mr Reed on Twitter within seconds of the result.
