Surgery (from the Greek: χειρουργική cheirourgikē, via Latin: chirurgiae, meaning "hand work") is an ancient medical specialty that uses operative manual and instrumental techniques on a patient to investigate and/or treat a pathological condition such as disease or injury, or to help improve bodily function or appearance.
An act of performing surgery may be called a surgical procedure, operation, or simply surgery. In this context, the verb operate means to perform surgery. The adjective surgical means pertaining to surgery; e.g. surgical instruments or surgical nurse. The patient or subject on which the surgery is performed can be a person or an animal. A surgeon is a person who performs operations on patients in hope of a favorable outcome. Persons described as surgeons are commonly physicians, but the term is also applied to podiatrists, dentists (known as oral and maxillofacial surgeons) and veterinarians. A surgery can last from minutes to hours, but is typically not an ongoing or periodic type of treatment. The term surgery can also refer to the place where surgery is performed, or simply the office of a physician, dentist, or veterinarian.

Kimberly Noel "Kim" Kardashian (born October 21, 1980) is an American socialite, celebutante, television personality, model, actress and businesswoman. She is known for starring in Keeping Up with the Kardashians, the E! reality series that she shares with her family, and its spin-offs including Kourtney and Kim Take New York.
Prior to the development of her career as a reality television star, Kardashian gained notoriety as the subject of a sex tape that subsequently resulted in a court awarding her $5 million. She has been involved in the production of several lines of clothing and fragrances. In 2010, she was the highest earning reality star, with estimated earnings of $6 million, and is one of the most highly documented and followed celebrities in the world in popular media.
In August 2011, Kardashian married basketball player Kris Humphries in a widely publicized ceremony. In October 2011, Kardashian filed for divorce, 72 days after the wedding.
Kardashian was born in Los Angeles, California, the daughter of attorney Robert Kardashian and his wife Kris Kardashian (née Houghton). Her father was a third generation Armenian American, and her mother is of Dutch and Scottish descent. Kardashian has two sisters, Kourtney and Khloé, and one brother, Robert. She has stepbrothers Burton Jenner, Brandon Jenner, and reality TV star Brody Jenner, step-sister Casey Jenner, and half-sisters Kendall Jenner and Kylie Jenner. She attended Marymount High School.

The quest for the perfect body is both challenging and nearly impossible. With society’s high standards of beauty, it can be overwhelming to maintain appearances over the course of our lifetimes. This is where plastic surgery comes in. It is a quick and easy route to change your appearance, or maintain the appearance you have, despite the pain and recovery time that’s needed. Some people just need a quick injection of Botox and their happy. However, there are some people who have extraordinarily high standards of what they want to look like, and they will go to great lengths to achieve that beauty. No matter how unrealistic the dream may be, or how crazy the idea is, the people in this video have forced their bodies to become broken, torn apart, and rebuilt again, waking up looking much different than when they went under the knife.
For example, there are select individuals who will break their ribs, go through painful enhancement and reduction surgeries, all for the endeavor of trying to look like a plastic doll that is far from the realistic perception of not only beauty, but how the human body is supposed to function. In the case of Valera Lukyanova, who is trying to look like the perfect replica of Barbie, she also has odd religious beliefs and is meant to put herself through these surgeries so people will know who she is and pay attention to her.
However, there are some people who have gone through so many plastic surgeries that they have managed to transform their faces into grotesque monsters. There is always a chance of a surgery becoming botched, and there’s not much to go back to once that happens. Regardless of these risks, the people in this video have gone through not one, one dozen, not one hundred, but instead a few hundred plastic surgeries. Of course, one must consider the psychological conditions of these people that makes them want to go through the multiple procedures. There is only so much a person can do before they eventually bow to the defeat of age, and finally come to an acceptance of their appearance for what it is.
But how much is too much? Where is the line that is drawn to stop the crazy expectations of beauty? No one really knows. Some of the people in this video have tragic endings, forcing their quest for beauty to become their death sentences, like in the case of Janet Hardt, who tore up the insides of her body and compromised her ability to fight off infections after injecting herself with hot beef fat.
On a more positive note, some of the people in this video have realized that the course of their life was unrealistic, deadly, and harmful to others, and have become advocates and spokespersons in movements against having so many plastic surgeries. With situations like this, there is hope that one day, maybe everyone who has put themselves through these procedures will eventually come around start on the path to healing.

BUT THEN THERE IS ALSO A GROUP OF FANS WHO WILL DO ALL THAT THEY CAN TO LOOK EXACTLY LIKE THEIR FAVORITE CELEBRITY. DEPENDING ON WHAT THE PERSON LOOKS LIKE, THEY MIGHT HAVE TO DROP TENS OF THOUSANDS, OR EVEN HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS, ALL FOR THE PURPOSE OF LOOKING LIKE ONE OF THE BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE. THANKS TO GENETICS, WE ALL HAVE OUR UNIQUE LOOK, AND THE ODDS OF MAKING EXACT REPLICAS OF APPEARANCES OF ANOTHER PERSON IS SLIM TO NONE. WE CAN GET CLOSE, BUT THE LOOK IS NEVER 100% AUTHENTIC. AND YET, PEOPLE ARE WILLING TO PUT THEIR WALLETS AND BODIES AT RISK BY GOING UNDER THE KNIFE IN HOPES OF LOOKING JUST LIKE THEIR FAVORITE CELEBRITY.
SO WHAT EXACTLY MOTIVATES SOMEONE TO DO THIS? BESIDES LOOKING LIKE A HOLLYWOOD STARLET, THERE IS ALSO THE POSSIBILITY OF MAKING A CAREER OUT OF BEING A CELEBRITY IMPRESSIONIST, OR EVEN TRY TO ACHIEVE A LEVEL OF FAME OF THEIR OWN (USUALLY FOR BEING PUT UP IN FRONT OF THE PUBLIC BY THE MEDIA AS ACTING CRAZY). IN THIS VIDEO ARE SOME OF THE MOST HORRIBLE PLASTIC SURGERY IMPRESSIONS. THIS IS MORE THAN JUST A BAD DRAWING OF A CELEBRITY. THEN THERE ARE OTHERS WHO GET THEIR PROCEDURES DONE TO LOOK EVEN BETTER, OR EVEN TRY TO REPLACE SAID CELEBRITY. CERTAINLY A MENTAL EVALUATION IS USUALLY REQUIRED TO GO UNDER THE KNIFE, BUT THESE DAYS IT SEEMS LIKE THAT ANYONE CAN CHANGE THEIR FACE AT THE SNAP OF THEIR FINGERS.
WHEN CELEBRITIES FIND OUT THAT THEIR FACES ARE BEING REPLICATED, THEY USUALLY TRY TO REMAIN RESPECTFUL, BUT IT IS CLEAR THAT THEY ARE WEIRDED OUT THAT SOMEONE WHO GO TO SUCH EXTREME LENGTHS TO LOOK LIKE THEM. EVEN SO, THEY STILL HAVE TO TREAD CAUTIOUSLY IN THE PUBLIC EYE SO THAT THEY DON’T SOUND INSENSITIVE OR EVEN JEALOUS.
WHAT DO YOU THINK? DO THESE PEOPLE LOOK LIKE THE CELEBRITY THEY WERE TRYING TO IMPERSONATE? MOST OF THESE PEOPLE HAVE SOME PRETTY BOTCHED RESULTS THAT LOOK NOTHING LIKE THE STAR THEY WERE TRYING TO REPLICATE WITH THEIR OWN FLESH AND BONE. CHECK OUT THE VIDEO AND SEE FOR YOURSELF.

This patient had a skin cancer between his eyebrows (the glabella area). I had performed Mohs micrographic skin cancer surgery to remove the basal cell carcinoma from this area a week prior, and he returned to have the sutures removed. It's at this time that I asked him whether I could extract his blackheads, since I knew so many people would love to see it done. He, like all my dear patients, was so kind to allow me to do so.
So this is why, if you look closely, you will notice that he has two black eyes. I like to joke that I've given more men black eyes than I can bother to count! Hehe Enjoy!!

Have you ever wondered… How? Why? Or perhaps you don’t think it’s so unusual, but simply want to know what Koreans think about the topic.
Well, I’ve gone and asked, to scratch those itches for you, even if just a little:
What do Koreans really think of plastic surgery?
How common is it? Is it still taboo at all?
Do many students do it? How is the school environment in regards to students returning with different features?
How do they feel about how South Korea is portrayed as ‘The Plastic Surgery Capital’ by the international media? Do they feel it is fair or unfair?
From a Korean perspective, both local and foreigners now living in Korea, why has PS become such a big thing, and has it always been this way?
If someone offered to give them a complete celebrity makeover with plastic surgery for free, would they do it?
How do they feel about their partners/bfs/gfs having had plastic surgery?
What do they think of true beauty?
