There, they once worked hands into fertile soil ... In Port-au-Prince, a city where festering refuse is strewn and piled high everywhere - garbage pickup is virtually nonexistent - and where water perpetually pools in badly broken or unpaved roads, the shoeshine boys and men need not look far for customers with soiled footwear.
