Wide of mother and daughter closing the week of fashion in Rio, with the end of the catwalk of the label Casa de Noca STORYLINE: The final day of Fashion Rio brought glamour and versatility to the catwalks, ending the most successful week in the event's history to date. During the 4 days event at the MAM - Modern Art Museum - 70 thousand people queue up to see Brazilian trends for Autumn-Winter 2004 season. The event also creates temporary jobs for up to 3 thousand 500 people. This Saturday (24JAN04), Fashion Rio showed two of the most highly anticipated collections of the season, those from Zoe Avelaneda and Casa de Noca, noted for their innovative shows. Zoe Avelaneda, a label that has participated in every year Fashion Rio has been held, prepared a versatile collection for the Autumn-Winter season. Specially designed for plugged-in women of the twenty first century, the Fashion Designer Zoe Avelaneda designs for sophisticated women, with busy schedules and plenty of attitude. For the man, heavy leather jackets and lots of black color. Using colors like black, dark green, brown, red and white, the Avelaneda woman cares about her looks but doesn´t have time to spend on big fashion productions. For that reason, she has to be versatile. Carrying leather valises and handbags, according to Zoe Avelaneda, the women will wear trench-coats, leather jackets and the classic overcoats over on blouses, dresses, skirts and trousers in assorted lengths. With the Brazilian Fashion Industry growing outside the country - only last year, profits from export sales were around US$ 600 Million, 40% more than 2002 - there is a lot to celebrate at this year's Fashion Rio, according to Carlos Ferreirinha, Spokesperson for the Brazilian Association of Textile Industry (ABIT). The last catwalk of the season was from Casa de Noca. After few years participating in the New Talents catwalks, the designer Silvia de Bossens brought glamour to her first collection of Fashion Rio. The daughter of a seamstress, the stylist grew up watching her mother turning pieces of fabric into beautiful dresses. With this collection, she showed that fashion is really part of her life. The collection, "A Rainy Day", was for women who rise above problems, who overcomes gleefully and deals with her daily obstacles with plenty of glamour. Based on trench coats, the label showed skirts, dresses, scarfs, high necks and frocks.
