A punk-rock artistic interpretation of a Komsomol (Young Communist League) meeting during the Soviet era before de-Stalinisation. In this scene, student Mels is kicked from the YCL for having disgraced the name of the organisation with what was seen at the time as 'cultural perversion'.

VDNKh or the National Agricultural Exhibition Centre in Moscow was built in the late 1930s on the order of Stalin. It was meant to inspire Soviet people who lived a hard life of poverty and astonish the whole world. Its many pavilions were created in a multitude of architectural styles and elaborately decorated by the best artists and sculptors of the USSR. Many of its sights became iconic symbols of Moscow: Vera Mukhina's sculpture Worker and Kolkhoz Woman, the golden fountain, the space rocket. But the Soviet people had to pay a great price for this splendour. Several thousand convicts from the Gulag were used to construct VDNKh and its initial architect, Vyacheslav Oltarzhevsky, was arrested for political reasons and sent into exile for 5 years. After Stalin's death, the controversial feeling conveyed by the place led to its slow decay. During Khrushchev's rule, the opulence of many pavilions was hidden under aluminum panels while many parts of the park fell into disuse. Slowly but surely, the place meant to commemorate the country's strength turned into the exact opposite. But as time passes, the association of VDNKh as a reminder of an oppressive regime wanes. What remains is the admiration of its beauty and the sense of duty to preserve and restore this unique architectural complex. As a reward for its renovation, VDNKh continues to present its restorers with a wealth of hidden treasures.

В ходе поисковых экспедиций АНО ПК "Арьергард" был найден и поднят в деревне Белодедово Западнодвинского района Тверской области (сентябрь 2012 года), а после восстановлен и поставлен на ход в реставрационной мастерской уникальный тягач «Ста́линец-65». Уникальность данной модели заключается в наличии кабины.
Именно такой модели больше нет ни в одном музее в мире.
С-65 — модель трактора, выпускаемого на Челябинском тракторном заводе с 1937 по 1941 года. Цифры в названии означают количество лошадиных сил нового дизельного двигателя М-17. С-65 суждено было стать первым советским серийным дизельным трактором.

It’s my last month in Moscow and with every day I have more and more things going on.
I met up with Masha, whom I haven’t seen in a year already, my family and I went to the country house to sort out the attic, I purchased a snake hook at my favourite pet shop and met up with Nikita, an old friend of mine, who has the coolest reptile and amphibian collection!
I have always wanted to visit all the Seven Sisters of Moscow (the seven Soviet Stalinist skyscrapers) in one day. And I can check that off of my bucket list :)

Stalinism
Stalinism is the means of governing and related policies implemented by Joseph Stalin. Stalinist policies in the Soviet Union included: state terror, rapid industrialization, the theory of socialism in one country, a centralized state, collectivization of agriculture, cult of personality, and subordination of interests of foreign communist parties to those of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union—deemed by Stalinism to be the most forefront vanguard party of communist revolution at the time.
Stalinism promoted the escalation of class conflict, utilizing state violence to forcibly purge society of claimed supporters of the bourgeoisie, regarding them as threats to the pursuit of the communist revolution that resulted in substantial political violence and persecution of such people. These included not only bourgeois people but also working-class people accused of counter-revolutionary sympathies.
Stalinist industrialization was officially designed to accelerate the development towards communism, stressing that such rapid industrialization was needed because the country was previously economically backward in comparison with other countries; and that it was needed in order to face the challenges posed by internal and external enemies of communism. Rapid industrialization was accompanied with mass collectivization of agriculture and rapid urbanization. Rapid urbanization converted many small villages into industrial cities. To accelerate the development of industrialization, Stalin pragmatically created joint venture contracts with major American private enterprises, such as Ford Motor Company, that under state supervision assisted in developing the basis of industry of the Soviet economy from the late 1920s to 1930s. After the American private enterprises completed their tasks, Soviet state enterprises took over.

I have always wanted to visit all the Seven Sisters of Moscow (the seven Soviet Stalinist skyscrapers) in one day. VDNKh or the National Agricultural Exhibition Centre in Moscow was built in the late 1930s on the order of Stalin. It was meant to inspire Soviet people who lived a hard life of poverty and astonish the whole world. Its many pavilions were created in a multitude of architectural styles and elaborately decorated by the best artists and sculptors of the USSR. Many of its sights became iconic symbols of Moscow: Vera Mukhina's sculpture Worker and Kolkhoz Woman, the golden fountain, the space rocket. But the Soviet people had to pay a great price for this splendour. Several thousand convicts from the Gulag were used to construct VDNKh and its initial architect, Vyacheslav Oltarzhevsky, was arrested for political reasons and sent into exile for 5 years. After Stalin's death, the controversial feeling conveyed by the place led to its slow decay. During Khrushchev's rule, the opulence of many pavilions was hidden under aluminum panels while many parts of the park fell into disuse. Slowly but surely, the place meant to commemorate the country's strength turned into the exact opposite. But as time passes, the association of VDNKh as a reminder of an oppressive regime wanes. What remains is the admiration of its beauty and the sense of duty to preserve and restore this unique architectural complex. As a reward for its renovation, VDNKh continues to present its restorers with a wealth of hidden treasures.
