Behind Naxal Lines
One of the most barbaric and inhuman naxal attacks on security forces in recent times. Naxals not only killed, they gauged out eyes, chopped off the tongue of slain Jawans and in gross violation of Human Rights cut open the bodies of the Jawans and planted high powered explosives. NewsX brings to you an exclusive conversation with a naxal commander who owned up the responsibility of the ghastly act and indicated they wanted to blow the chopper which came for rescue. NewsX Deputy Editon Shiv Pujan Jha brings you an analysis on the plight of the poor villagers of the area who are virtually reduced to cannon fodder. The violent side of Naxalism: Kangaroo courts and extortion
Read more: www.firstpost.com If anyone is under the illusion that the Naxals are entirely driven by concern for the poor, perish the thought. Their first job is to arm themselves, then they use it to appropriate the food and other resources that they need for their revolution, and then they dispense rough justice to show the populace that they are going after their exploiters and the corrupt. But all this Taliban-style justice serves one aim: keep the population in awe of their power. It also helps them extort money from businessmen and traders, without which no revolution can be financed.

Finding solution to Naxalism part 1
The word Naxal, Naxalite or Naksalvadi is a generic term used to refer to militant Communist groups operating in different parts of India under different organizational envelopes. In the eastern states of the mainland India (Bihar, West Bengal and Orissa), they are usually known as, or refer to themselves as Maoists while in southern states like Kerala they are known under other titles. They have been declared as a terrorist organization under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act of India (1967).[1][2][3] The term 'Naxal' derives from the name of the village Naxalbari in the state of West Bengal, India, where the movement had its origin. The Naxals are considered far-left radical communists, supportive of Maoist political sentiment and ideology. Their origin can be traced to the split in 1967 of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), leading to the formation of the Communist Party of India (Marxist--Leninist). Initially the movement had its centre in West Bengal. In later years, it spread into less developed areas of rural central and eastern India, such as Chhattisgarh, Orissa and Andhra Pradesh through the activities of underground groups like the Communist Party of India (Maoist).[4]

NewsX Exclusive: Naxals spread base in Mumbai, Kolkata - NewsX
NewsX exclusively accesses the interrogation report of Sadanala Rama Krishna, who had the charge of Odisha and West Bengal, investigated by NIA, reveals how this one man was able to control a vast operational network in Mumbai and Kolkata. In this interrogation report Sadanala confessed to be a part of being the logical and technical mind for the party and also how he has actively taken part in each and every aspect relating to manufacturing of arms etc. The Maoists have an ingenious modus operandi to get the equipment First they get the pre-fabricated kits made in bulk at separate foundries. Private transporters then bring them to the assembly units in the forests, especially in Bastar and Maad, in Chhattisgarh. They are then fully assembled at these places and distributed to the cadres. Naxalism issue will not be solved only by arms -- Shishilkumar Shinde
After 1960 the naxalism movement started in India. In last one decade Andhra Pradesh government took serious action against them and they spread their wings in Maharashtra, Jharkhand & Chhattisgardh, said Union Home Minister and veteran Congress leader Sushil Kumar Shinde at the Idea Exchange programme organised by Loksatta, the Marathi newspaper of The Indian Express Group. I strongly believe that, we must develop the remote areas because Naxalism issue will not be solved only by arms. Naxals doesn't allow to do development work but we are moving ahead step by step. I am confident that infrastructure development will change the peoples mind, said Shinde. Jharkhand DGP calls CRPF-Naxal encounter inhuman, barbaric
A bomb was recovered from the body of security personnel who was brought in for post mortem at a Ranchi hospital after a Naxal attack. The Naxals booby-trapped the bodies with explosives which exploded subsequently, killing 10 CRPF personnel and three civilians on Monday. Jharkhand DGP GS Rath talked tough on Thursday saying that the incident was inhiman and barbaric. "We have been fighting with naxalism for the last several years and we are prepared to take on the Naxals," Rath said. "As naxals change their strategy we will also change ours," Rath added.
