Mott can refer to:
David Bowie ( /ˈboʊ.i/ BOH-ee; born David Robert Jones on 8 January 1947) is an English musician, actor, record producer and arranger. A major figure for over four decades in the world of popular music, Bowie is widely regarded as an innovator, particularly for his work in the 1970s. He is known for his distinctive voice and the intellectual depth and eclecticism of his work.
Bowie first caught the eye and ear of the public in July 1969, when his song "Space Oddity" reached the top five of the UK Singles Chart. After a three-year period of experimentation he re-emerged in 1972 during the glam rock era with the flamboyant, androgynous alter ego Ziggy Stardust, spearheaded by the hit single "Starman" and the album The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars. Bowie's impact at that time, as described by biographer David Buckley, "challenged the core belief of the rock music of its day" and "created perhaps the biggest cult in popular culture." The relatively short-lived Ziggy persona proved merely one facet of a career marked by continual reinvention, musical innovation and striking visual presentation.
Plot
Courtroom antics surround the jury involved in hearing an embezzlement case. A shy accountant (Pinchot) in one of his four roles in the movie is charged with the crime, but during testimony by a very sexual secretary (Scoggins), he is painted to be an extravagant lothario which gains him press coverage and sudden adoration of women in the street. This prompts the judge to sequester the jury, setting up conflict and shenanigans with the jurors. A feminist (Redgrave) battles a developer (Thicke), a waiter (Baldwin) chases a hooker (Locklear), and a bellhop (Pinchot again) pursues a housewife (Graff).

Plot
Based on the true story of the attempted defection in 1970 by a Lithuanian seaman seeking political asylum in the United States. Kudirka was denied asylum and returned to the Soviets, charged with treason, and sentenced to ten years of hard labor. It was later discovered and verified that his mother had been born in Brooklyn and gone to Lithuania at a young age, which meant she was a U. S. citizen. As a result, Kudirka was declared a U. S. citizen and in 1974 released by the Soviets.

[in a hushing tone]::Simas Kudirka: I tell you, you are looking at a frightened rabbit; all my life I have done everything out of fear! When I jumped to the American ship, the fuse pounding in my heart so much I thought it would break into a thousand pieces. But the fear behind me was much worse than anything I was going in to. That's why I jumped. That's why I jumped. There was no treason; there was a life time of walking with my eyes down. You say I should have guilt because of my family - I do! But worse than that is the shame that I feel, that I felt, because I feared you so much! You accuse me of treason? I accuse YOU OF TREASON! You've taken a nation of men and turned us into sheep! But I have been in your prisons, I have been through your nightmare! What more is there to fear from you?

Plot
District Attorney Stephen Pettijohn returns to his alma mater to lecture on circumstantial evidence, and uses a recent case, the murder of banker James Gardner, to make his point: Constance Gardner had wed James to spite Ted Farnsworth. Later, the pair drove to Gardner's country lodge to urge him to give Constance a divorce. He refuses and that night he is found dead with a bullet in his head. Pettijohn finds that all evidence points to Harry Beach, and the latter is convicted and sentenced to die.

When you left you really let me down
I can't rise, though I've tried, I'm still waiting around,
I remember how it used to be,
I've tried, and I've tried but I can't understand.
Just the way you called out my name
Wasn't the same, it felt like a different game
And the way you called out my name....
After time has slipped away,
you may find that I'm still on your mind,
We'll have gone our separate ways
much to far to turn around,
You'll remember all the things we went through,
Following me, following you for all time,
And you'll remember I still feel the same,
It's such a shame ....
I'll tell you something that you ought to know
If you're leaving home today,
You're turning your back on something so strong,
But I hope you find your way.
I'll tell you something that you ought to know
If you're leaving me today,
You're turning your back on a love that's so strong
That you might not find your way
I'll tell you something that you gotta know
If you're leaving me today
Don't turn your back on me,
'Cos I can't go on,
And I'll never find my way.
(Overend Watts/Dale Griffin)
Always burned, you've never learned the times when not to fight,
You're always hurtin', never certain that the time was right,
Always being insecure's the price you have to pay
Sometimes it ain't wrong to follow, I can show you the way.
I can show you how it is.
(Overend Watts/Morgan Fisher)
When a thing dies
Another will rise
It's happening all the time
Nothing can last
It's over too fast
It's never the end of the line
Just keep moving
Don't tell me it's too frightening
Keep on moving
It's no good standing still
There's an earthquake coming
Gonna knock you all flat
Now what you gonna do about that
There's an earthquake coming
Gonna turn you all on
But what you gonna do when it's gone
Don't you give in
You're gonna win
There ain't no way you can lose
Forget the past
You got the class
You're gonna be the big news
Just keep moving
Don't tell me it's too frightening
Keep on moving
It's no good standing still
There's an earthquake coming
Gonna knock you all flat
Now what you gonna do about that
There's an earthquake coming
Gonna turn you all on
But what you gonna do when it's gone
(repeat)

Much too soon you're gonna know I'm strong
I don't care what's right or wrong,
I'm gonna find you by tonight.
I've been so long searching for you
And there ain't a thing that you can do
'Cos I'm gonna be there by tonight.
If you're feeling edgy then you better catch a train,
Or you may see my face at your window pane
I'm gonna get you by tonight.
I've listened and waited and watched every move
I'm tortured and twisted, got something to prove
And I ain't the kind that you can easily soothe
Now you're in for some trouble,
I'm telling the truth.
And you can't escape ....
(Overend Watts)
Stop complaining, that won't be any use
It's all right, just stay loose
Listen honey, there's no money
Country's ruined, down the drain.
Jimmy's feeling down, 'cos ain't got a pound,
He's leaving the sinking ship
But he ain't gonna drown; just walkin' on soft ground
So why not stay with us and help us try to put it back afloat.
Best foot forward, worst foot backward,
We shall always overcome,
Playing music for ten years now
Made no bread, we must be dumb!
People feeling down 'cos they ain't got a pound,
They're leaving the sinking ship
But you ain't gonna drown so why not stick around,
And maybe you can stay with us and help us try to make it float again.
";Now look here, what's all this bickering, etc, etc?";
(Heckling and gyp section)
And so you see, we won't be going away, No Way
We're going to stay,
We're going to get stronger,
it won't be much longer.
So be patient and be brave through the slumps
It's going to turn up trumps!
(Ray Major)
Lies, broken promises
Dreams and apologies
Seems I'm wasting my time
With you.
Yesterdays and tomorrows
All full of sorrows
More goodbyes than smiles
From you.

Anything you want, anything you need, she does it,
She don't even care, if you make her bleed, she does it,
She can do it better than Judy or Suzie,
Wouldn't want to say that she's really choosy.
But if you find out that she gets about, just turn her round
If you're straight or bent, don't have to pay a cent,
'Cos she does it... Free!
Only twenty-three, but boy you're telling me that she does it,
She can make you feel like a little schoolboy
Tie you up in knots, or she can be a kill-joy
But if you find out that she gets about, just turn her round.

But she makes me feel like this...
Come along with me, I want you to see how she does it,
Can't control myself, nor can no-one else when she does it,
We can even see her at the same time,
Nothing's wrong with that, in fact she'll think it's fine
I don't mind if you don't mind,

It's seems a long long time since I waved goodbye to you
Been working too hard, I'll tell you what I'm planning to do
Gonna hang up my boots and pack up my things and then
I'll fly across the ocean to see you again
Got my dollars saved up, I can count them when I feel low
Your picture's on my bed at each motel I go
Gonna be with you soon, promise you, but until then
Remember I'm marking time to see you again
We drunk a lot of wine and we saw a lot of early light
And I ain't gonna tell you that a woman never shared my night
Yeah we drunk a lot of wine and we saw a lot of early light
But through it all still you're the only one in sight
We drunk a lot of wine and we saw a lot of early light
And I ain't gonna tell you that a woman never shared my night
Yeah we drunk a lot of wine and we saw a lot of early light
But through it all still you're the only one in sight
We drunk a lot of wine and we saw a lot of early light
And I ain't gonna tell you that a woman never shared my night
Yeah we drunk a lot of wine and we saw a lot of early light

Everyone agrees, a little money helps to please,
But I just took so much of it, I'm shakin' at the knees
And we've gotta leave this town.
We've had a heavy day, but the law want us to stay,
We told them ";Thanks a lot, but we've just got to get away";
And we've gotta leave right now!
There's a place I gotta be, and time won't wait for me
But I gotta make it alone
I can see the river wind, and hear the guns behind
We gotta move, we gotta run,
away from what we've done.
Only yesterday I was lazing in the sun,
Makin' out with bar-room queens and boozing like a bum
Now we've gotta leave this town
It don't seem really fair, but then thinkin' of my share,
I guess it can't be bad, 'cos I must be a millionaire,
So we've gotta leave right now.
There's a place I gotta go where nobody'll know
And I've gotta make it alone
I can see the hills ahead, and the skyline turning red ....
Now I'm crawling down the street with an independent air,
Feeling good from being loose, so we ain't got a care
And feeling like settling down
But someone starts to stare, and he jumps up from his chair,
Before he gets to make a sound, I'm sitting on my mare
And we've gotta leave right now
I don't know where to go, and I'm feeling pretty low
But I've gotta make it alone
And as I turn around, I can see a dusty cloud ....
We gotta move, we gotta run,
Away from what we've done
We gotta move, we gotta run,
All the way to Monte Carlo.
(Overend Watts)
Here we are drifting apart further every day
Friends all say it's not my fault it had to end like this
'Cause I don't know too much about caring
And I don't know the meaning of sharing - everything.
I just couldn't show what you should've known,
To keep you by my side,
I just couldn't say what other people say,
They're words too hard to find
Here we are, we can't look back, we can only live,
Wondering why I can't even cry, I can't do anything,
And I don't even care about tomorrow,
Any love that I need I can borrow, to get me by.
I can never show to anyone I know
The way I feel I do,
But one thing's for sure, in my special way
I'm still in love with you.
(Vanda/Young)
Is everybody gonna rock?
Is everybody gonna roll?
Are you gonna have a good time?
Let it roll
Mary, Mary, you're on my mind
The folks are gone and the place'll be mine
Mary, Mary, wanna be with you
Now, this is what I'm gonna do
I'm gonna put a gun to you
Gonna have a good time tonight
Rock 'n' Roll music gonna play all night
Come over baby it won't take long
It only takes a minute just to sing my song
Phoney Maroni gonna be with Jim
Long Tall Sally gonna stay with Slim
Short Fat Fanny gonna be there too
I tell you what I'm gonna do
I'm gonna put a gun to you
Gonna have a good time tonight
Rock 'n' Roll music gonna play all night
Come over baby it won't take long
It only takes a minute just to sing my song
Phoney Maroni gonna be with Jim
Long Tall Sally gonna stay with Slim
Short Fat Fanny gonna be there too
Now this is what I'm gonna do
There's a rumor going 'round this place
That you've been hanging around
If I find out that it's true, I'm telling you
Gonna put you in the ground
There's a kind of misty morning
As I'm looking out 'cross town
Thinking 'bout my friends, remembering what they said
And making me feel like a real lowdown
I saw that smoke stack lightning
When you pushed me to the brink
You got me worried, you got me mean
When I'm mean I drink
Then a lot of wild talk was flying
'Bout a tall cat sleeping around
Well, I dunno who he is but I'm telling you this
When I catch up with him, I'm gonna mow him down
When I get there tonight you better be back home
There's an ill wind blowing and it's bringing a storm
And when I get there tonight you better be alone
There's an ill wind blowing and it's bringing a storm
'Cos when I get there tonight I'm gonna be insane
There's an ill wind blowing and it's bringing a storm
I've had enough of your lip gonna 'cause you some pain
There's an ill wind blowing and it's bringing a storm
I'm gonna jump on a train
Now you've burned out all my money
Just as much as you could take
And then your love turned bad and now I'm mad
'Cos I made a big mistake
But if you think I'm gonna take it
Lying down like a dog, well, you'd better think again
I'll fix you up for good, I told you I would
And I'm just about to jump on a real fast train
When I get there tonight you better be back home
There's an ill wind blowing and it's bringing a storm
When I get there tonight you better be alone
There's an ill wind blowing and it's bringing a storm
'Cos when I get there tonight I'm gonna be insane
There's an ill wind blowing and it's bringing a storm
Feel my temperature rise like a knife in my brain
There's an ill wind blowing and it's bringing a storm
Oh, slow down
Cat's all running for cover
'Cos there's no place left to hide
I've go a vengeance in my soul
And it will not be denied
Better get on your knees, little girl
It's the only thing to do
I'm gonna make you sorry you were born
You better come right over get my hands on you
When I get there tonight you better be back home
There's an ill wind blowing and it's bringing a storm
When I get there tonight you better be alone
There's an ill wind blowing and it's bringing a storm
'When I get there tonight I'm gonna be insane
There's an ill wind blowing and it's bringing a storm
Feel my temperature rise like a knife in my brain
Little whizz kid mystified me, she was a New York City beat
She came on flash - monster mash, motors in her feet
Now we moved out of Manhattan to her home on the Brooklyn Heights
Her dad's a street punk and her mum's a drunk, but we made out alright
Far far from home, oh I felt so alone
Could not spin to the speed of the city
Oh send me my ticket, I'm too scared to stick
With my little whizz kid - such a pity
Now she really tried her hardest just to make me leave the band
She even hired a toy "rent-a-boy" straight from a Times Square stand
Oh thank you little whizz kid, but me and my friends gotta eat
So get back to school or the tying pool, just get yourself out on the
street
Send you victorious, happy and glorious
You got the stardust, the sawdust, and the smile
Don't lose your sting, how I'd hate you to swing
Oh my little whizz kid you got such a style
She's a cute super sleeper, she don't dive in deeper
A natural leaper, she don't let people pass
Watch out for the auto-mite, quick or she's outta sight
Oh my whizz kid, you know you're such a gas
Such a gas.
(Overend Watts)
Hey there Annie, that means you
Why don't you leave that man
'cos he never was true
You've got the figure and the face
To go any place
So drop those dishes
And get back in the race
I know you can do it
You know you can too
Look what I got ... (?)
She's a chick that's gonna give
you stone in the ... (?)
Got a straight for a seven and she's ready to sigh
When you see her you'll be itching
'cos she's looking so fine
I know she can do it
You know she can too
Don't let them tell you
That all girls are the same
That's only part of the game
Don't let them tell you
That you'll never find fame
We know best
Hey there Annie our dream's come true
Got a million dollar contract
And a Cadillac too
And we're laying in the shade
Of a willow tree
Sipping on a glass of vintage '53
I knew we could do it
You knew we could too
Don't let them tell you
That all girls are the same
That's only part of the game
Don't let them tell you
That you'll never find fame
We know better
Don't let them tell you
That all girls are the same
That's only part of the game
Don't let them tell you
That you'll never find fame
We know best
(Nigel Benjamin/Morgan Fisher)
There's no such thing as me or you
Just the feeling someone had
When they saw shadows on the wall
There's no such thing as old or new
'Cause everything's been said and done before
There's no such thing as Rock and Roll
No such thing as growing old
When the picture starts to fade
You'll hear the clowns and watch them cry
The great mistakes they've made
When the lights have all gone down (down, down, down)
You'll marvel at the speed that things turn round
There's no such thing as rock and roll
No such thing as growing old
Things are way beyond control
I've been told
Try to cut you down
Take your soul away
Cut you down
Try to break your heart
Take your soul away
Break your heart
If you make it to the end
You'll find you didn't try that hard
It wasn't such a strain
And all those death defying deeds
Weren't necessary
It's really such a shame
'Cause all I've got is Rock and Roll
All I'll get is growing old
Things are way beyond control
And I've been told
Try to cut you down (cut you down)
Take your soul away
Cut you down
Try to break your heart (break your heart)
Take your soul away
Break your heart
Try to cut you down (cut you down)
Take your soul away
Cut you down
(Dale Griffin)
Well, didya ever get the feelin' that the world ain't right?
Like when you're standing in the dance-hall someone picks a fight
He says, ";Hey, c'mere long-hair I saw ya lookin' at my chick!";
You gotta get away quick
And as you turn to make a run he throws a punch at your head
You know you gotta make the exit or you're gonna be dead
But when you finally hit the sidewalk you can tell that you ain't going too far
'Cos someone stole your car
And it's the same play, each day, can't pay, no way
They gotcha in a hole y'know.
It's the same old reason and the same old rhyme,
And the snakes are out to bite you everytime
But not me babe
It takes one to know one,
It takes one to know one,
It takes one to know one,
And I know you!
You know I tried to call my baby, tried to make a date,
She said, ";I'm awful sorry, honey, but you called too late,
Y'see I've gotta drive my Daddy to a meeting of the P.T.A.,
I can't come out to play!";
So then I took me off downtown and met this chick in a bar
She took me back to her apartment in her Jaguar,
But when we started rockin' she threw me straight outta the door,
There oughta be a law
And it's the same play, each day, can't pay, there's no way
You're gonna get a break, y'know
It's the same old reason and the same old rhyme,
She says she's got the feelin' but she ain't got the time,
Don't gimme that jive, babe
It takes one to know one
And I know you!
Well now it's Saturday night and I just got laid,
But there's a shadow in the alley still gotta be paid.
I heard it's tough at the top, but it sure looks good from the floor
They won't let you score.
Every day it's getting rougher and it's hard to survive
When there's a lotta people round don't wanna see you alive,
They wanna take you to the cleaners, and leave you in the gutter to bleed
When they've got all they need.
And it's the same old reason and the same old rhyme,
And the man still wants your life on the dotted line,
But I got wise, babe
It takes one to know one
And I Know You (all of you).
Hold on, you got it wrong, I'm too strong
You must be going crazy if you think that you can hold me down
Stay down, stop hanging 'round, lay down
You must be going dizzy with them stupid dreams inside your head
Hold on or I'll be gone, you're putting me on
You must have something missing if you think that you can tie me up
Stay down, get off my ground, hey, look what I found
Another little honey who can really make my bed
Now get this, nothing, nothing on me
And you've got nothing I crave
So keep your distance or I'll move you
Like a crashing wave
Hold on, you got it wrong, so long
There ain't a woman living gonna come before my guitar
Stay down, get out of town, I ain't no clown
Go find another sucker who ain't got plans for going too far
I told you, you got nothing, nothing on me
You've got nothing I crave
So keep your distance or I'll drown you
(Overend Watts)
I need love, I need it now,
Not tomorrow, but right now,
You look good, but you don't look nice,
Be my friend, just once or twice.
I don't wanna settle down,
I just wanna fool around
Gimme something that I want....
I want love, and I wannit now,
Not in two seconds, I wannit now,
You're feeling bad, aw, that's a shame,
Come over here, I'll fix the pain!
A little action is what I need,
If you don't like it, then you better leave,
I'll tell it to you straight down the line
Don't ask no questions, we ain't got time!
(Overend Watts/Morgan Fisher)
There's trouble coming
I feel it deep in my bones
I can't avoid it, no way,
Gotta face it, not gonna be long
It's got me shouting, pointing,
panting, begging tonight
I need some people
To see me through it
Loving me right
Gonna pull some tarts together
Better dress them up in leather
Gonna find some kindred spirits
Gonna throw the searchlight in it
Want some volunteers!
You do and you do and you do
Get in to trouble
And maybe you do and you do and you do
Get in to luck
'cos I've been shouting, pointing, panting
And when it's done
We're gonna walk out smiling, laughing
Because we won!
Gonna pull... (etc)
Watch out, they'll get ya
They're hiding under your nose
They'll try to dare you, scare you, snare you
Stand on your toes
'cos they'll be shouting, pointing, panting
And when it's done
We're gonna settle down a-loving, and a-howling
Because we won
Gonna pull... (etc)
(Overend Watts)
Like the sea after the storm
You calm me, keep me warm and safe from harm.
Heal my wounds, cure my pain,
I feel cold, I feel rain on me again.
So take me and hold me and keep me don't burn me,
Love me and need me and tell me don't burn me,
Your light shines bright
Reach me and save me, protect me, don't burn me,
Show me, enclose me, surround me, don't burn me,
Your light shines bright...
Through the dark, I see fear,
I can breathe, now you're near and holding me.
(Morgan Fisher/Ray Major)
Last night I woke up on a subway train
Travelling round and round all night
My head was hurting and my clothes were torn
It must have been a hell of a fight
And you know it doesn't feel so funny
When you're waking up at half past eight
And they've taken all your stuff and your money
And you wonder was it something you said
Yes I know I ain't exactly
A clean livin' boy
Sometimes it just ain't fair
When I get home to you
After all I've been through
You'll only scream and shout
'cos your money's run out
I don't care
If you go to work
I don't care
If you stay at home
But if you go downtown
That you're pulling around
Why don't you leave me alone
You said to me that I'm wasting my life
I've played it just like your fool
You're no give and no talk
I guess it won't get too far
It ain't done me no harm
It don't follow me at all
You said to me that I've been wasting your time
Your gonna find another man
I've had all I can take
Won't you give us a break
I'm sick and tired of people trying to tell me what I am
I don't care
If I go to heaven
I don't care
If I stay in hell
'cos I know that I'm doing
What I really wanna do
And you know that I'm doing it well
Yes I know I didn't love my mamma
I got everything wrong at school
All the touble I had from my dear old dad
Tonight you sit tight I'm gonna give it to you
I don't care
If you go to work
I don't care
If you stay at home
But if you go downtown
That you're pulling around
Why don't you leave me alone
I don't care
I got too short arms
I don't care
I don't care
I got too long hands
I don't care
I don't care
I got too bald head
I don't care
