Rhoda is an American sitcom starring Valerie Harper which aired a total of 109 half-hour episodes and one hour-long episode over five seasons from September 9, 1974 to December 9, 1978. The show was a spin-off of The Mary Tyler Moore Show, in which Harper between the years 1970 and 1974 had played the role of Rhoda Morgenstern, a spunky, weight-conscious, flamboyantly fashioned Jewish neighbor and native New Yorker in the role of Mary Richards' best friend. After four seasons, Rhoda left Minneapolis and returned to her original hometown of New York City. The series is noted for breaking two television records, and was the winner of two Golden Globes and two Emmy Awards.
Rhoda was filmed Friday evenings in front of a live studio audience at CBS Studio Center, Stage 14 in Studio City, Los Angeles, California.
The series opens with the pilot episode featuring Rhoda Morgenstern traveling from her home in Minneapolis to New York, where she was born and raised, for a two-week vacation, staying with her younger sister, Brenda (Julie Kavner). While there, she meets Joe Gerard (David Groh), a handsome divorcé who owns a wrecking company and has a ten-year-old son, Donny, whom Brenda babysits. Following Brenda's prompting, Rhoda and Joe meet and develop an instant attraction to each other which leads to their dating nightly for the duration of her vacation. After an argument about their feelings for each other, Joe asks Rhoda to stay in New York City, which she does, initially moving in with Brenda at 332 E. 64th Street (actual exterior shots are of 332 East 84th Street, between 1st and 2nd avenues on the southeast end of the block.) Brenda, a bank teller, is an insecure person with low self-esteem with dating problems, similar to how Rhoda herself had experienced difficulty in dating in Minneapolis in the early years of The Mary Tyler Moore Show.
Kelley Alice Jakle (born June 27, 1989) is an American actress and singer-songwriter. She is best known for her role as Jessica in Pitch Perfect (2012) and its sequel Pitch Perfect 2 (2015). She is also known for her appearances on the first and second seasons of The Sing-Off in 2009 and 2010.
Jakle was born in Carmichael, California. She was active in music from an early age, performing as part of the Sacramento Children's Chorus, singing The Star-Spangled Banner at sporting events (including a San Francisco 49ers game in 2006) and auditioning for the singing contest American Idol. Jakle began writing music in 2003.
After graduating from Loretto High School, Jakle attended the University of Southern California, where she majored in communications. In 2007, Jakle joined the USC a cappella group the SoCal VoCals. During her tenure in the SoCal VoCals, the group won the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella in 2008 and again in 2010.
In 2009, Jakle took part in season one of The Sing-Off, a singing competition televised on NBC, as part of a group called "The SoCals". The SoCals were eliminated in the third episode. In 2010, Jakle again competed on The Sing-Off, this time as part of "The Backbeats". The Backbeats finished the contest in third place.
Michael Alan (born July 13, 1977, New York City, New York) is a New York City based artist. He went to the School of Visual Arts in New York City and taught classes there.
In 2010, Robert Shuster of the Village Voice wrote, in reviewing Alan's solo show Harmonious Opposites, “Alan’s thread-like lines are manically impulsive; they barely go an inch without detouring. Short, jagged strokes, tiny loops, and quick arcs make jittery, skeletal outlines of distorted human forms. Hasty daubs of blues and pinks wrap the frames with translucent skin while also conveying the blur of movement. Alan loves motion; in Move in Distance, a dancer’s five legs, kicking up in successive positions, pay homage to those futurist studies in dynamism. Even the reclining male figure of Prostitution looks restless—the angular, attenuated limbs and their busy surfaces bring to mind one of Egon Schiele’s more anxious self-portraits.”
In addition to his work as a multi-media artist, Michael is the founder and director of the Living Installation, where human beings are transformed into unique, living art objects. These happenings are set to Alan’s original music, which is recorded featuring artists such as The Residents, Tommy Ramone, Ariel Pink, and Meredith Monk.

Son Lux released his debut album, At War with Walls & Mazes, on Anticon in 2008. Following this release, NPR named Son Lux "Best New Artist" on their program All Songs Considered.
His second album, We Are Rising, was released on Anticon in 2011. It was recorded in 28 days for the RPM Challenge and was described by Consequence of Sound as "the dark, operatic middle ground between Owen Pallett and In Rainbows-era Radiohead or Wild Beasts' fantastic, operatic heights." He is a member of Sisyphus along with Serengeti and Sufjan Stevens. The trio released their debut EP, Beak & Claw, on Anticon in 2012. Son Lux signed with Joyful Noise Recordings in May 2013, the same month that his "haunting rendition" of Black Water was featured in JNR's flexi-series. Simultaneous with the announcement that he would be joining Joyful Noise, he released the TEAR, a conceptual 7" featuring one new song in two distinct parts. The album Lanterns was released on October 29, 2013. The album includes vocals from then label-mate Cat Martino of Stranger Cat. The lead single "Lost It To Trying" was immediately named one of Pitchfork's Best New Tracks.

Now she could dance that slow Uvalde shuffle to some cowboy hustle
How she makes them trophy buckles shine, shine, shine
Wild-eyed and Mexican silvered, trickin'dumb ol' cousin Willard
Into thinkin' that he's got her this time
Chorus:
Hill country honky-tonkin' Rita Ballou
Every beer joint in town has played the fool for you
Backslidin' barrel ridin' Rita Ballou
Ain't a cowboy in Texas would not ride a bull for you
She's a rawhide rope and velvet mixture walkin' talkin' Texas texture
High timin' barroom fixture kind of a girl
She's the queen of cowboys look at ol' Willard grinnin' now, boys
You'd a-thought there's less fools in this world
Chorus:
Hill country honky-tonkin' Rita Ballou
Every beer joint in town has played the fool for you
Backslidin' barrel ridin' Rita Ballou
Ain't a cowboy in Texas would not ride a bull for you
Good luck, Willard, and here's to ya
Here's to Rita and I hope she'll do ya
right all night
Lord, I wish I was the fool in your shoes
Chorus
Hill country honky-tonkin' Rita Ballou
Every beer joint in town has played the fool for you
Backslidin' barrel ridin' Rita Ballou
