A deeply inspiring story that transcends national boundaries,
race and class to touch the goodness within us all
Miracle At St. Anna is a gripping World War II epic that chronicles the story of four African American soldiers who are members of the US Army as part of the all-black 92nd Buffalo Soldier Division stationed in Tuscany, Italy, during World War II. They experience the tragedy and triumph of the war as they find themselves trapped behind enemy lines and separated from their unit after one of them risks his life to save an Italian boy.
Directed by Spike Lee from a screenplay written by James McBride, the author of the acclaimed novel of the same name, the film is produced by Lee, Roberto Cicutto and Luigi Musini. Executive producers are Jon Kilik and Marco Valerio Pugini. The director of photography is Matthew Libatique and the production designer was Tonino Zera. Barry Alexander Brown is editor and Carlo Poggioli served as costume designer. Internationally renowned jazz trumpeter, bandleader and composer Terence Blanchard created the score. Miracle At St. Anna is presented by Touchstone Pictures in association with On My Own and RAI Cinema.
Its a World War II film brutal and gruesome -- a mystery that deals with historic events and the stark reality of war, says Director/Producer Spike Lee. But its also a story of compassion and love. Theres a very lyrical, magical, mystical element to it.
Lee says he was a fan of the story from the moment he read McBrides novel. I called him up and told him I would like to make this into a film, says the director. I became a student of World War II, a student of the Buffalo soldiers, in particular the 92nd Infantry Division.
James introduced me to several of the surviving Buffalo soldiers whom he met and interviewed for the novel, Lee continues. They saw things that you would not want anybody to see -- the horrors of war: moments that they still think about, still dream about, still wake up in a sweat about.
Lee assembled a culturally diverse cast for the film. This is an ensemble piece, he says. There are the four core Buffalo soldiers, of course, but the whole cast consists of American actors, great Italian actors, great German actors everyones speaking their native tongue, too, which I really think makes it feel authentic.

Per la sesta intervista abbiamo avuto come ospite l'attrice Valentina Cervi, figlia del produttore e regista cinematografico Tonino Cervi, e nipote dell'attore Gino Cervi.
Il suo debutto assoluto avviene in televisione nel 1986 con "Portami la luna", mentre quello sul grande schermo avviene nel 1988 con la commedia di Francesca Archibugi "Mignon è partita".
Dopo piccole apparizione tra TV e cinema, nel 1996 inizia a farsi notare con la partecipazione al film della regista neozelandese Jane Campion "Ritratto di signora", a cui segue l'anno successivo il suo primo ruolo da protagonista in "Artemisia. Passione estrema" di Agnès Merlet, dove veste i panni dell'artista romana Artemisia Gentileschi. Nel 1999 recita in "La via degli angeli" di Pupi Avati e "Rien sur Robert" di Pascal Bonitzer, per cui ottiene due candidature rispettivamente al Nastro d'argento e al Premio César. Nello stesso anno, assieme a Massimo Ghini, è diretta da Francis Ford Coppola in uno spot pubblicitario di "Illycaffè" che omaggia Federico Fellini e "Lo sceicco bianco". Da questo momento inizia a lavorare frequentemente sia in Italia che all'estero.
Nel 2001 impersona Anna Maria Pierangeli nel film per la televisione statunitense "James Dean - La storia vera di Mark Rydell", dove recita accanto a James Franco. Nel 2002 è invece protagonista assieme a Violante Placido de "L'anima gemella" di Sergio Rubini, ruolo per cui ottiene numerosi riconoscimenti. Nel 2005 è accanto a Stefano Accorsi in "Provincia meccanica" di Stefano Mordini. Interpreta Marja Bolkonskaja nella miniserie televisiva del 2007 "Guerra e pace", diretta da Robert Dornhelm.
Nel 2008 è nel cast della pellicola di Spike Lee "Miracolo a Sant'Anna", e prende parte ad un episodio della serie televisiva "Donne assassine".
Nel 2011 è tra i protagonisti della serie TV inglese "Le inchieste dell'ispettore Zen" e di quella italiana "Distretto di Polizia". Nello stesso anno recita in un cameo in Jane Eyre di Cary Fukunaga, e partecipa alla quinta stagione della serie statunitense "True Blood", nel ruolo della vampira Salome Agrippa.

Valentina Cervi
Valentina Cervi (born 13 April 1974) is an Italian film and television actress.
Cervi was born in Rome, Italy. She is the daughter of director Tonino Cervi and granddaughter of the famous Italian actor Gino Cervi. Cervi started her acting career at age ten in Carlo Cotti's 1986 film Portami la luna. She also played an English-language role in Jane Campion's 1996 The Portrait of a Lady.
One of her most acclaimed roles was the lead in the 1997 film Artemisia, directed by Agnès Merlet. It was loosely based on the painter Artemisia Gentileschi's life, but controversially portrayed the relationship between Agostino Tassi (played by Miki Manojlović) and Artemisia as a passionate affair rather than as rape.
In 2011, she appeared as Arianna in BBC TV's Italian detective mini-series Zen. The London Times commenting on her role as follows: "Zen (Rufus Sewell) need only walk into a Lavazzatore for [a] B-movie-rank Gina Lollo to press her amples into his chest. An interview with one courtesan [Cervi] was conducted ... with her in bra and fishnets, the interrogation interrupted by the command 'zip' as he dressed and undressed her". She also appeared as "Valentina" in Canale 5's series Distretto di Polizia in 2011.

Miracle At St. Anna is a gripping World War II epic that chronicles the story of four African American soldiers who are members of the US Army as part of the all-black 92nd Buffalo Soldier Division stationed in Tuscany, Italy, during World War II. They experience the tragedy and triumph of the war as they find themselves trapped behind enemy lines and separated from their unit after one of them risks his life to save an Italian boy.
Directed by Spike Lee from a screenplay written by James McBride, the author of the acclaimed novel of the same name, the film is produced by Lee, Roberto Cicutto and Luigi Musini. Executive producers are Jon Kilik and Marco Valerio Pugini. The director of photography is Matthew Libatique and the production designer was Tonino Zera. Barry Alexander Brown is editor and Carlo Poggioli served as costume designer. Internationally renowned jazz trumpeter, bandleader and composer Terence Blanchard created the score. Miracle At St. Anna is presented by Touchstone Pictures in association with On My Own and RAI Cinema.
Its a World War II film brutal and gruesome -- a mystery that deals with historic events and the stark reality of war, says Director/Producer Spike Lee. But its also a story of compassion and love. Theres a very lyrical, magical, mystical element to it.
Lee says he was a fan of the story from the moment he read McBrides novel. I called him up and told him I would like to make this into a film, says the director. I became a student of World War II, a student of the Buffalo soldiers, in particular the 92nd Infantry Division.
James introduced me to several of the surviving Buffalo soldiers whom he met and interviewed for the novel, Lee continues. They saw things that you would not want anybody to see -- the horrors of war: moments that they still think about, still dream about, still wake up in a sweat about.
Lee assembled a culturally diverse cast for the film. This is an ensemble piece, he says. There are the four core Buffalo soldiers, of course, but the whole cast consists of American actors, great Italian actors, great German actors everyones speaking their native tongue, too, which I really think makes it feel authentic.

Per la sesta intervista abbiamo avuto come ospite l'attrice Valentina Cervi, figlia del produttore e regista cinematografico Tonino Cervi, e nipote dell'attore Gino Cervi.
Il suo debutto assoluto avviene in televisione nel 1986 con "Portami la luna", mentre quello sul grande schermo avviene nel 1988 con la commedia di Francesca Archibugi "Mignon è partita".
Dopo piccole apparizione tra TV e cinema, nel 1996 inizia a farsi notare con la partecipazione al film della regista neozelandese Jane Campion "Ritratto di signora", a cui segue l'anno successivo il suo primo ruolo da protagonista in "Artemisia. Passione estrema" di Agnès Merlet, dove veste i panni dell'artista romana Artemisia Gentileschi. Nel 1999 recita in "La via degli angeli" di Pupi Avati e "Rien sur Robert" di Pascal Bonitzer, per cui ottiene due candidature rispettivamente al Nastro d'argento e al Premio César. Nello stesso anno, assieme a Massimo Ghini, è diretta da Francis Ford Coppola in uno spot pubblicitario di "Illycaffè" che omaggia Federico Fellini e "Lo sceicco bianco". Da questo momento inizia a lavorare frequentemente sia in Italia che all'estero.
Nel 2001 impersona Anna Maria Pierangeli nel film per la televisione statunitense "James Dean - La storia vera di Mark Rydell", dove recita accanto a James Franco. Nel 2002 è invece protagonista assieme a Violante Placido de "L'anima gemella" di Sergio Rubini, ruolo per cui ottiene numerosi riconoscimenti. Nel 2005 è accanto a Stefano Accorsi in "Provincia meccanica" di Stefano Mordini. Interpreta Marja Bolkonskaja nella miniserie televisiva del 2007 "Guerra e pace", diretta da Robert Dornhelm.
Nel 2008 è nel cast della pellicola di Spike Lee "Miracolo a Sant'Anna", e prende parte ad un episodio della serie televisiva "Donne assassine".

Il piccolo Lord è il titolo di uno sceneggiato televisivo in cinque puntate, andato in onda sul Programma Nazionale dal 22 aprile al 20 maggio del 1960, nel prime time del venerdì sera, solitamente dedicato a spettacoli di prosa. Tratto dal romanzo Little Lord Fauntleroy della scrittrice inglese Frances Hodgson Burnett (autrice anche de Il giardino segreto e La piccola principessa), venne tradotto e adattato per la televisione italiana da Claudia Casassa, e trasmesso con la regia di Vitttorio Brignole, che diresse Gilbero Govi sia in Colpi di timone (1957) che in I Maneggi per maritare una figlia (1959), ma la cui filmografia è legata essenzialmente ad alcune delle prime produzioni realizzate dalla RAI molte delle quali destinate alla TV dei ragazzi. Il ruolo del piccolo Cedric Errol, poi Lord Fauntleroy, venne ricoperto dall'enfant prodige Sandro Pistolini (allora undicenne, eppur meritevole della copertina del settimanale Radiocorriere TV), che lavorò a fianco dei più grandi attori del tempo ( Paolo Stoppa, Paolo Panelli, Aroldo Tieri, Totò, Renato Rascel, Giovanna Ralli, Valeria Moriconi, Gino Cervi, Valentina Cortese, Amedeo Nazzari, Eleonora Rossi Drago, solo per citarne alcuni). Da adulto preferì dedicarsi alla musica divenendo affermato chitarrista, clarinettista e contrabbassista.

Il piccolo Cedric Errol orfano di padre vive con la madre negli Stati Uniti e cresce a New York con fidati amici come il droghiere e il lustrascarpe, quando a causa della morte dello zio paterno, diventa erede del nonno Lord Dorincourt, conte di una nobile casata inglese di cui faceva parte anche il padre, almeno sino a quando il nonno di Cedric non lo ripudiò per aver sposato una donna americana e di umili origini. Cedric non ha mai visto il nonno né sa nulla dell'acredine che corre tra lui e la madre, quindi per acquisire il titolo di Lord Fauntleroy si vedrà costretto a trasferirsi in Inghiltrerra per avere una'educazione degna di un Lord inglese e convivere con il nonno che da subito si dimostrerà burbero e scostante, in special modo con la madre di Cedric a cui sarà proibito alloggiare nel castello, costringendo così la donna ad occupare un'abitazione distante dal figlio. L'arrivo di un secondo e truffaldino pretendente alla successione, la scoperta della bontà della nuora e dell'immenso cuore di cui è dotato il nipotino, innescheranno una trasformazione nel burbero Lord inglese che scoprirà quanto sia importante l'affetto e il calore di una vera famiglia.

Miracle at St. Anna chronicles the story of four African-American soldiers who are members of the US Army as part of the all-black 92nd "Buffalo Soldier" Division that fought against the Fascists and Nazis in Italy during World War II.
They experience the tragedy and triumph of World War II as they find themselves trapped behind Nazi lines and separated from their Squad after one of them risks his life to save an orphan Italian boy.
Directed by Spike Lee from a screenplay written by James McBride, the author of the acclaimed novel of the same name, the film explores a deeply inspiring, powerful story drawn from history, that transcends national boundaries, language, race and class to touch the goodness within us all, the Human Race.

Per la sesta intervista abbiamo avuto come ospite l'attrice Valentina Cervi, figlia del produttore e regista cinematografico Tonino Cervi, e nipote dell'attore Gino Cervi.
Il suo debutto assoluto avviene in televisione nel 1986 con "Portami la luna", mentre quello sul grande schermo avviene nel 1988 con la commedia di Francesca Archibugi "Mignon è partita".
Dopo piccole apparizione tra TV e cinema, nel 1996 inizia a farsi notare con la partecipazione al film della regista neozelandese Jane Campion "Ritratto di signora", a cui segue l'anno successivo il suo primo ruolo da protagonista in "Artemisia. Passione estrema" di Agnès Merlet, dove veste i panni dell'artista romana Artemisia Gentileschi. Nel 1999 recita in "La via degli angeli" di Pupi Avati e "Rien sur Robert" di Pascal Bonitzer, per cui ottiene due candidature rispettivamente al Nastro d'argento e al Premio César. Nello stesso anno, assieme a Massimo Ghini, è diretta da Francis Ford Coppola in uno spot pubblicitario di "Illycaffè" che omaggia Federico Fellini e "Lo sceicco bianco". Da questo momento inizia a lavorare frequentemente sia in Italia che all'estero.
Nel 2001 impersona Anna Maria Pierangeli nel film per la televisione statunitense "James Dean - La storia vera di Mark Rydell", dove recita accanto a James Franco. Nel 2002 è invece protagonista assieme a Violante Placido de "L'anima gemella" di Sergio Rubini, ruolo per cui ottiene numerosi riconoscimenti. Nel 2005 è accanto a Stefano Accorsi in "Provincia meccanica" di Stefano Mordini. Interpreta Marja Bolkonskaja nella miniserie televisiva del 2007 "Guerra e pace", diretta da Robert Dornhelm.
Nel 2008 è nel cast della pellicola di Spike Lee "Miracolo a Sant'Anna", e prende parte ad un episodio della serie televisiva "Donne assassine".
Nel 2011 è tra i protagonisti della serie TV inglese "Le inchieste dell'ispettore Zen" e di quella italiana "Distretto di Polizia". Nello stesso anno recita in un cameo in Jane Eyre di Cary Fukunaga, e partecipa alla quinta stagione della serie statunitense "True Blood", nel ruolo della vampira Salome Agrippa.
