The Grinch Song from the cartoon "How The Grinch Stole Christmas".
The Grinch first appeared in the 1957 story How the Grinch Stole Christmas, written and illustrated by Dr. Seuss, published as both a Random House book and in an issue of Redbook magazine. 9 years later in 1966, the story was adapted into a animated television featurette of the same name, which was directed by Charles M. Jones (who was known at this time as Chuck Jones) and which included the song "You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch". Boris Karloff serves as both the story's narrator and the voice of the Grinch.
In 1977, Seuss responded to the fan request for more Grinch tales by writing Halloween Is Grinch Night, a Halloween film that aired on ABC. This was followed in 1982, when Marvel green-lit The Grinch Grinches the Cat in the Hat a TV film starring The Cat in the Hat, also produced by Dr. Seuss (though under his real name, Ted Geisel). Although not as successful as the original, the two films both received Emmy Awards. Several episodes of the 1996 Nick Jr. television show The Wubbulous World of Dr. Seuss featured the Grinch, this time in puppet form, a rare screen appearance for the character without being animated or illustrated.

Theodor Seuss Geisel (/ˈsɔɪs/ Listeni/ˈɡaɪ.zəl/; March 2, 1904 – September 24, 1991) was an American writer and illustrator best known for authoring popular children's books under the pen name Dr. Seuss (/suːs/). His work includes several of the most popular children's books of all time, selling over 600 million copies and being translated into more than 20 languages by the time of his death.
Geisel adopted his "Dr. Seuss" pseudonym during his university studies at Dartmouth College and the University of Oxford. After leaving Oxford in 1927 he began his career as an illustrator and cartoonist for Vanity Fair, Life, and various other publications. He also worked as an illustrator for advertising campaigns, most notably for Flit and Standard Oil, and as a political cartoonist for the New York newspaper PM. He published his first children's book, And to Think That I Saw It on Mulberry Street, in 1937. During World War II he worked in an animation department of the United States Army, where he produced several short films, including Design for Death, which later won the 1947 Academy Award for Documentary Feature.
After the war Geisel focused on his children's books, writing classics such as If I Ran the Zoo (1950), Horton Hears a Who! (1955), If I Ran the Circus (1956), The Cat in the Hat (1957), How the Grinch Stole Christmas! (1957), and Green Eggs and Ham (1960). He published over 60 books during his career, which have spawned numerous adaptations, including 11 television specials, four feature films, a Broadway musical and four television series. He won the Lewis Carroll Shelf Award in 1958 for Horton Hatches the Egg and again in 1961 for And to Think That I Saw It on Mulberry Street. Geisel's birthday, March 2, has been adopted as the annual date for National Read Across America Day, an initiative on reading created by the National Education Association.
Over the course of his long career, Geisel wrote over 60 books. Though most were published under his well-known pseudonym, Dr. Seuss, he also authored over a dozen books as Theo LeSieg and one as Rosetta Stone. His books have topped many bestseller lists, sold over 600 million copies, and been translated into more than 20 languages.[2]In 2000, Publishers Weekly compiled a list of the best-selling children's books of all time; of the top 100 hardcover books, 16 were written by Geisel, including Green Eggs and Ham, at number 4, The Cat in the Hat, at number 9, and One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish, at number 13.[85] In the years after his death in 1991, two additional books were published based on his sketches and notes: Hooray for Diffendoofer Day! and Daisy-Head Mayzie. My Many Colored Days, originally written in 1973, was posthumously published in 1996. In September 2011, seven stories originally published in magazines during the 1950s were released in a collection entitled The Bippolo Seed and Other Lost Stories.[86]
Geisel also wrote a pair of books for adults: The Seven Lady Godivas (1939; reprinted 1987), a retelling of the Lady Godiva legend that included nude depictions; and You're Only Old Once! (written in 1986 when Geisel was 82), which chronicles an old man's journey through a clinic. His last book, published the year before his death, was Oh, the Places You'll Go!, which became a popular gift for graduating students.

For decades, readers throughout the world have enjoyed the marvelous stories and illustrations of Theodor Seuss Geisel, better known as Dr. Seuss. But few know the work Geisel did as a political cartoonist during World War II, for the New York daily newspaper PM. In these extraordinarily trenchant cartoons, Geisel presents "a provocative history of wartime politics" (Entertainment Weekly). Dr. Seuss Goes to War features handsome, large-format reproductions of more than two hundred of Geisel’s cartoons, alongside "insightful" (Booklist) commentary by the historian Richard H. Minear that places them in the context of the national climate they reflect. Pulitzer Prize–winner Art Spiegelman's introduction places Seuss firmly in the pantheon of the leading political cartoonists of our time.

The Cat in the Hat is a children's book written and illustrated by Theodor Geisel under the pen name Dr. Seuss and first published in 1957. The story centers on a tall anthropomorphic cat, who wears a red and white-striped hat and a red bow tie. The Cat shows up at the house of Sally and her brother one rainy day when their mother is away. Ignoring repeated objections from the children's fish, the Cat shows the children a few of his tricks in an attempt to entertain them. In the process he and his companions, Thing One and Thing Two, wreck the house. The children and the fish become more and more alarmed until the Cat produces a machine that he uses to clean everything up. He then disappears just before the children's mother walks in.
Geisel created the book in response to a debate in the United States about literacy in early childhood and the ineffectiveness of traditional primers such as those featuring Dick and Jane. Geisel was asked to write a more entertaining primer by William Spaulding, whom he had met during World War II and who was then director of the education division at Houghton Mifflin. However, because Geisel was already under contract with Random House, the two publishers agreed to a deal: Houghton Mifflin published the education edition, which was sold to schools, and Random House published the trade edition, which was sold in bookstores.
Geisel gave varying accounts of how he created The Cat in the Hat, but in the version he told most often he was so frustrated with the word list from which he could choose words to write his story that he decided to scan the list and create a story based on the first two words he found that rhymed. The words he found were cat and hat. The book met with immediate critical acclaim and financial success. Reviewers praised it as an exciting alternative to traditional primers. Three years after its debut, the book had already sold over a million copies, and in 2001 Publishers Weekly listed the book at number nine on its list of best-selling children's books of all time. The book's success led to the creation of Beginner Books, a publishing house centered on producing similar books for young children learning to read. In 1983, Geisel said, "It is the book I'm proudest of because it had something to do with the death of the Dick and Jane primers." The book was adapted into a 1971 animated television special and a 2003 live-action film.

Private Snafu is the title character of a series of black-and-white American instructional cartoon shorts, ironic and humorous in tone, that were produced between 1943 and 1945 during World War II. The films were designed to instruct service personnel about security, proper sanitation habits, booby traps and other military subjects, and to improve troop morale.
The series was directed by Chuck Jones and other prominent Hollywood animators, and the voice of Private Snafu was performed by Mel Blanc.

The story of Dr. Seuss that you never heard… because it never happened!
'It's a Seussical Life!' is a fantastically fictionalized tale of the life of Dr. Seuss, as inspired by the works of the author himself. In a world where everyone speaks normally, one man – Theodore Seuss Geisel (Joshua David Bishop) – is born with a unique quirk: everything that he says comes out in rhyme.
A young man, Seuss enrolls into university and discovers that not everyone thinks that it’s odd to be odd. Inspired by his professor and the zany personalities of a friendly group of misfits, Seuss finds his calling in life and uses his new-found confidence to share his voice with an audience; but will they listen?

His book - THE NEW DEMOCRAT
Loren's book "The New Democrat" is a parody of the Obama Administration based on a famous children's book. It humorously details the numerous failed policies of the current government (and the century of liberalism that led up to it) with snappy rhymes and equally amusing illustrations. It ends with a moving call for Americans to take their country back.
Easily the best parody send-up yet of the Obama years. You'll roar with laughter (or perhaps cry) as you re-live every wacky, horrifying moment of the last four years. And then you'll be inspired by the book's call to action.
Theodore Geisel , better known as Dr. Seuss, was a beloved children's author for many years. But, first and foremost, he was a committed, liberal Democrat. An ardent supporter of Franklin Delano Roosevelt, as a political cartoonist in the 1930's and 40's, he continued to inject left wing ideas into his children's books, from the environmentalist sentimentality of "The Lorax", to the cold war era, moral equivalency of "The Butter Battle Book". Even "Yertle the Turtle", "The Sneetches" and "What Was I Afraid of" were intended as socialist polemics at the time. (Although to modern eyes, more inured to the realities of socialism, they seem to carry almost the opposite message.) Geisel died in 1992 and Roosevelt, of course, has been gone for over 65 years. Neither ever heard of Barack Obama or witnessed the ascent of Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi. And yet we wondered how they would react to the course that Liberalism, in general, and the Democratic Party, in particular, has taken since the 2008 election.
In this parody we use a familiar setting to imagine Mr. Geissel and Mr. Roosevelt (two "old Democrats") as witnesses to the political realities of modern America which, in no small measure, they helped to usher in. It was the children raised on Dr. Seuss' polemics that elected our current regime. How will they react to his heir: "The New Democrat"?
This book is a work of parody that humorously represents numerous public figures past and present. It is not authorized by, endorsed by or affiliated with Theodor Geisel, his heirs or Dr. Seuss Enterprises.
