Plot: Built Upon the Rock is a story of two brothers and how an inheritance teaches them about their own foundation and eternal life. In the beginning of the video, Gideon is dying and has asked that his two sons, Thomas and Sahara work together overseeing his vineyards after he is gone. When Gideon dies, Sahara takes control of the vineyards and begins to sell grapes that are not yet ripe to loyal customers. Thomas is greatly disturbed and seeks out a lawyer named Josiah to help him regain his part of his inheritance. Josiah has left law practice to follow Jesus. He encourages Thomas to listen to the words of Jesus to find the answers to his problems. Jesus is giving his sermon on the mount and shares the beatitudes, or the actions, attitudes and blessings true believers should experience. He tells the people they need to go beyond just believing and act upon their faith. Jesus uses the parable of the wise man who built his house upon a rock. This man took his time and built a strong foundation for his house. When the rains came down, the man and his family remained safe. The foolish man was in a hurry and built his house upon the sand. When the rains came down, his house washed away. As Thomas listens to the words of Jesus, Josiah urges him to build his life on love, patience, and forgiveness, and all will be well. Thomas returns to ask forgiveness for speaking out in anger against his brother. When Thomas talks with Sahara about running the vineyards as his father would have wished, Sahara attacks him and throws him off the land. Thomas begins to doubt that Jesus' way of loving your enemies is right for him. Josiah reminds Thomas that Jesus never promised his enemies would love him in return. Thomas returns to Jesus to ask him to help him resolve the inheritance problem with his brother. Jesus warns Thomas about greed and envy. He tells him the value of a man's life has little to do with the things he owns on earth. To teach this lesson, Jesus tells another parable of the rich man who had an abundant harvest. This man had a choice in giving his extra crop to the poor or to build bigger barns to hold his extra wealth. The man decides to build bigger barns so he will have plenty of money for years to come. God visited the man that very night and told him he had been foolish and his life was over. The things he had gained on earth were worth nothing to his soul. A bit confused, Thomas thinks about what Jesus is trying to teach him. After talking with Josiah, he realizes he has been foolish like the rich man. Thomas visits Sarah again to tell him he no longer wants his inheritance. Sahara begins to gloat over his wealth. As he raises a glass to his lips, he has a heart attack and dies. The video ends with Thomas sitting at the feet of Jesus building salvation upon a rock.

Sahara Travel - The Sahel runs 3,862 km from the Atlantic Ocean coast of Mauritania in the west to the Red Sea coast of Sudan in the east. The ecoregion definition takes in part of other countries but for the purposes of this travel guide, it includes all of Chad, Mali, Mauritania, Niger and Sudan. The region consists of semi-arid grasslands, savannas, steppes, and thorn shrublands lying between the Central African wooded savanna to the south, and the Sahara to the north.
The topography of the Sahel is mainly flat, and the region mostly lies between 200 and 400 meters elevation.

It is an exotic and romantic country with the thousand miracles or the Arab world; old cities, mosques, bazaars, natural beauties from palm tree gardens to sand dunes and from the frosty tops of the Atlas mountains to the beaches of Agadir. There are the oases in the Sahara, the colorful buildings of Marrakesh, the Anti-Atlas’s green valleys and the forts of the Foreign Legion. The royal cities are all wonderful: Casablanca, well known from the famous movie with the same title, the capital, Rabat, the ancient Fes, and the elegant cultural centre, Marra

Its surface area amounts to 266,000 square kilometres (103,000 sq mi). It is one of the most sparsely populated territories in the world, mainly consisting of desert flatlands. The population is estimated at just over 500,000, of whom nearly 40% live in El Aaiún (also spelled Laâyoune), the largest city in Western Sahara.
Occupied by Spain since the late 19th century, the Western Sahara has been on the United Nations list of non-self-governing territories since 1963 after a Moroccan demand.[4] It is the most populous territory on that list, and by far the largest in area. In 1965, the UN General Assembly adopted its first resolution on Western Sahara, asking Spain to decolonise the territory. One year later, a new resolution was passed by the General Assembly requesting that a referendum be held by Spain on self-determination.
In 1975, Spain relinquished the administrative control of the territory to a joint administration by Morocco (which had formally claimed the territory since 1957) and Mauritania.[6] A war erupted between those countries and the Sahrawi national liberation movement, the Polisario Front, which proclaimed the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR) with a government-in-exile in Tindouf, Algeria. Mauritania withdrew in 1979, and Morocco eventually secured effective control of most of the territory, including all the major cities and natural resources.
Since a United Nations-sponsored ceasefire agreement in 1991, two thirds of the territory (including most of the Atlantic coast line)[8] has been controlled by Morocco and the remainder by the SADR, strongly backed by Algeria.[9] Internationally, countries such as the United States and Russia have taken a generally ambiguous and neutral position on each side's claims, and have pressed both parties to agree on a peaceful resolution. Both Morocco and Polisario have sought to boost their claims by accumulating formal recognition, essentially from African, Asian, and Latin American states in the developing world. The Polisario Front has won formal recognition for SADR from 53 states, and was extended membership in the African Union. Morocco has won recognition or support for its position from several African governments and from most of the Arab League. In both instances, recognitions have, over the past two decades, been extended and withdrawn according to changing international trends.[citation needed] As of 2006, no other member state of the United Nations has recognized Moroccan sovereignty over Western Sahara.

The Libyan area of the Sahara fascinates with its varied landscapes of lakes set amid desert dunes, ancient towns built of mud, camps with straw-covered circular huts, prehistoric rock paintings and amazing multi-shaped stone formations.For centuries, Ghadames, an oasis town. has been the junction of several caravan routes and thanks to the Mare Spring it has benefitted from a good supply of water. The houses were small but beautifully decorated and red-framed mirrors assist in the illumination of the main room. The uppermost floors were for women only and they could spend their day unveiled. Ancient Garma was once the capital of the Garamante Realm, one of the most powerful Berber realms in North Africa and the Sahara. Greek and Roman historians wrote much of the mighty tribe that lived in desert which at the height of its power controlled neighbouring tribes and among its arsenal included horse drawn chariots.The discovery of the Akakus rock paintings in 1850 was made by German explorer and scientist, Heinrich Barth. Protected by huge rocks and hidden in a tangled labyrinth of canyons, the rock paintings remained undiscovered for thousands of years. Nestling among the huge sand dunes of the Libyan Sahara is one of the most striking natural wonders on Earth, the Mandara Lakes. Some of the 11 lakes have dried out, such as that of the Mandara while others, like the Am Alma, are at their most impressive. Each lake is surrounded by a green belt in which reed and date palms create what is tantamount to being a biblical ambience. The Sahara, although scorching hot and untamed by Man, has shared with us its remarkable and memorable natural wonders!

Morocco is a North African country that has a coastline on both the North Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea. It has borders with Western Sahara to the south, Algeria to the east and the Spanish North African territories of Ceuta and Melilla on the Mediterranean coast in the north. It is just across the Strait of Gibraltar from Gibraltar.

==================
At just a few hours from the main European cities, Morocco has everything to overwhelm you with the amazing colors, smells and sounds of Islamic Africa. Imagine bustling souqs and spice markets, stunning mosques, white-washed sea side towns and medieval city centres. With panoramic views varying from snow-covered peaks in the High Atlas to the endless sand dunes of the Sahara, no-one ever has to be bored in this beautiful country.
Movie-famous Casablanca might be the most famous of Moroccan cities and is home to the huge Hassan II mosque, the second largest mosque in the world with only the Grand Mosque of Mecca surpassing it. Many travellers quickly leave this vibrant and modernist metropolis on a search for a more traditional Moroccan experience, but admiring the impressive colonial architecture, Hispano-Moorish and art-deco outlook of the city centre is actually time well spent. Marrakesh, known as the "Red City" and probably the most prominent former imperial capital, will leave you with memories to cherish for life. Spend your days wandering through the lively souqs, admiring the old gates and defensive walls, see the Saadian Tombs, the remnants of the El Badi Palace and visit the Koutoubia Mosque with its 12th century minaret. However, when evening falls make sure to head back to Jamaa el-Fnaa, the largest square in Africa, as it fills up with steam-producing food stalls. Indulge in the bustling activity there, listen to Arabic story tellers, watch magicians and Chleuh dancers. Fez, once Morocco's capital, is another gorgeous imperial city. Get lost in its lovely labyrinth of narrow Medieval streets, enjoy its huge medina, see the beautiful city gates, the ancient University of Al-Karaouine and the Bou Inania Madrasa. Also, make sure to visit a traditional leather tanning factory. The city of Meknes is often called the "Versailles of Morocco" for its beauty. Its lovely Spanish-Moorish style centre is surrounded by tall city walls with impressive gates and you'll be able to see the 17th century blend of European and Islamic cultures even today.
For a more laid-back experience of city life, catch a sea breeze at Asilah or lovely Essaouira. The blue-washed town of Chefchaouen is an old time travellers' favourite and a great starting point to explore the impressive High Atlas Mountains. Climb Jebel Toubkal, the highest peak in North-Africa, passing lovely adobe villages and exploring the gorgeous Ourika and Amizmiz valleys on the way. The stunning panoramic view from the top will make it worth every bit of your effort to get there. Other praised hiking routes lead through the beautiful Ameln Valley in the Anti-Atlas and the wooded Rif Mountains in the very north.
Hop on a camel back for a trip through the golden Sahara sand dunes at Erg Chebbi, near Merzouga. Spend the night in a desert tent, under the incredibly starred sky. The Sahara is also accessible near the town of Zagora; it's easier to get to from Marrakech but doesn't have the imposing dunes of Erg Chebbi. Somewhat less easy to reach but therefor also less crowded are the dunes of Erg Chigaga near M'hamid. On your way to the desert, make sure not to miss the stunning Todra gorge near Tinghir. The ancient fortified city of Aït-Benhaddou is another must-see sight. Although rainstorms damage the mud-brick kasbahs time and again, this mostly abandoned village remains an impressive sight and has been the decor for a range of movies, including Lawrence of Arabia and Gladiator.

Hammams
========
There are two types of Hammam (steam baths) across Morocco.
The first is the tourist hammam, where you can go and be pampered and scrubbed by an experienced staff member. As these are promoted only to tourists they are the more expensive option with pricing usually around DH 150 for a hammam. They can not be technically referred to as a proper hammam, but they are nonetheless enjoyable, especially for the timid. Your hotel can recommend a good one.
The second option is to visit a "popular" Hammam. Popular hammams are the places where the locals go. Ask the staff at your hotel where they would go.

Algeria is one of the most fascinating countries in North Africa.Algeria Travel Video Guide in the dramatic Unesco-listed Tassili N'Ajjer and Hoggar regions, near the town of Tamanrasset, tribal culture is very much alive, and the day-to-day hassle common to many Arab countries is conspicuously absent. Algiers contains a vivid mix of tradition and modernism, its colonial past maintaining a presence. Timimoun embodies the storybook oasis town of the Sahara, and the welcoming town of In Salah is split in two by a creeping sand dune.

Morocco Vacation Travel Video Guide • Great Destinations
Morocco is fulfulling our dreams about the Tales of One Thousand and One Nights even today. The royal cities are all wonderful: Casablanca, well known from the famous movie with the same title, the capital, Rabat, the ancient Fes, and the elegant cultural centre, Marrakesh. The Djemaa El Fna square has a unique atmosphere, where magicians, henna painters, acrobats, belly dancers, tale tellers from the Sahara, healers, dancers, Koran discussers, snake charmers and cooks make up the colorful market. Morocco with its thousand faces can be found in the buildings, which are incredibly ornamented, the sound of the snake charmers’ pipes, the silence of the mosques, the native people of the Sahara, the turmoil of the bazaar, the smell of various spices, the pattern of the carpets, the medinas conjuring the past, the taste of the mint tea, and it looks the way we always thought it would

Hadendoa Travel Video Guide
Enormous caravan trains once traversed the Sahara Desert that extends for nine million square kilometres and is the largest desert in the world. Just a few kilometres beyond Sudan’s metropolis of Khartoum in Omdurman is the splendid burial place of the famous 19th century Islamic leader, Al Mahdi, one of the most important exponents of Sufism. It was also Al Mahdi who invaded Khartoum, a city founded by the Egyptians that was later ruled by the British. In the 19th century the infamous warriors of the Hadendoa people were also the courageous soldiers of Al-Mahdi´s army. Today they live in the environs of the Red Sea Mountains where the camel is the only means of transport. Those travelling across the Sahara have always had to cope with the savage climate of the desert and in ancient times, as well as today, the overwhelming heat saps the strength of both man and beast as the daytime temperature can reach a scorching fifty five degrees Celsius. At the foot of the mountain range that we must cross in order to travel deep into the homeland of the Hadendoa we meet a group of wood gatherers. In addition to the trading of camels and goats, the gathering and selling of wood is one of the main sources of income for this unique nomadic people. Without a sound several mounted Hadendoa warriors have approached us. The atmosphere is anything but relaxed and our uncertainty seems to please the warriors who, mounted on camels, are truly menacing. In the past the British army also experienced the wrath of these people. The looks on the faces of the Hadendoa further increases the tension. Finally, after what seems like several minutes, we tentatively step forward. In broken Arabic we try to explain to the warriors that we have journeyed far to meet them. Our initial scepticism is replaced by a long and amicable handshake with their leader that sets our fears to rest. Surrounded by the desert and the Red Sea Mountains and cut off from most of the influences of modern civilization, the legendary Hadendoa Tribe has somehow managed to maintain its unique cultural identity and freedom.

Marrakesh Travel Video Guide
Travel video about destination Marrakesh in Morocco.
Marrakesh, the 'red pearl' of Morocco was founded by Yusuf ibn Tashfin in 1062. It is one of the country's four Royal Cities. Up to the beginning of the 20th century, the city was a trading centre for both the north of Morocco and the Sahara and the monarchs of various dynasties made Marrakesh their capital city.
The large souks of Marrakesh's Medina are divided into numerous sections and stock just about everything known to man!
In spite of the city's apparent calm, there is much activity and the traffic is surprisingly well disciplined.
Marrakesh has the largest souks in Morocco. As well as shoes and clothing, they stock all the necessities of life and of course, bargaining and haggling are the norm! Daily life in the souks is dominated by trade. They are a vital meeting place and trading centre for the farmers of the High Atlas. Those who wish to experience Moroccan daily life can do so here and a stroll through the narrow alleys, taking in the city's sounds and aromas, explains far more than any travel guide.
Djemaa el Fna is the 'Square of the Beheaded' and is Marrakesh's most famous attraction with snake charmers, musicians and storytellers. In 2001, the Square of the Beheaded was designated by Unesco as a World Heritage Site.
Built in 1158, the minaret of the Koutoubia Mosque is the symbol of the city. The 77 metre tall sandstone minaret served as the model for the Giralda in Seville and the Hassan Tower in Rabat. Most of the mosque was built by Spanish prisoners of war.
Marrakesh is an historic bridge that unites both urban and nomadic cultures, an exotic gateway to Africa and a captivating window to Europe!

Morocco Vacation Travel Video Guide
Travel video about destination Morocco.
Casablanca is the largest city in Morocco, has the most important harbour in North Africa and is gateway to the magic of the Orient.In the Koran it says: ‘And Allah’s Throne Was On The Water !’ Thus inspired, the Grand Mosque was built on Casablanca’s shoreline. This monumental building was designed to accommodate 105,000 believers and its tall minaret dominates the city’s skyline. More than twelve million people helped finance this ‘Eighth Wonder Of The World’ which involved 90 engineers and 30,000 craftsmen and artists. Lying northwards along the Atlantic coast, is Rabat, Morocco’s capital and home to its government and royal family. The King’s Palace, the Palais Royal, is a town in itself. Surrounded by walls and protected by royal guards, since 1864 it has been the main residence of the Alaouite Dynasty which has been in power since 1666. To the south of RABAT lies Chellah, City of the Dead. The Merinde necropolis has a square tower and is surrounded by a wall made of crushed loam, proof that the Cathagers built a trading centre here in the 3rd century B.C. Amongst the tombs, the sarcophagus of Sultan Abou El-Hassan stands proud with its artistic engravings. Fez El-Bali dates back to the Middle Ages and contains narrow streets, a pungent mixture of scents, the penetrating sound of craftsmen and fine examples of the Moorish art of building. Travelling through the Atlas Mountains, the small town of Ilfrane boasts tranquil parks and ponds, modern residential areas and shady avenues which take the traveller by surprise. Just as with their ancestors over the centuries, even today nomads and their camels traverse the endless Sahara. For a distance of over 40 kilometres, the magic landscape of the sand dunes compares with the largest in the world. Finally, Marrakesh, dreamy city at the foot of the High Atlas and Morocco’s most beautiful city. What better location to end the fairytale that is Morocco!

Tripoli Travel Video Guide
Travel video about destination Tripoli in Libya.
Tripoli is the capital of the desert state of Libya. The old town is known as the Medina and with its narrow lanes and squat buildings it is a combination of Arabian, North African and Mediterranean cultures. The joie de vivre of the local people is obvious and music and dance are part of their daily life. In antiquity the city was called Oea that was one of the three cities of Tripolitania and in Roman times this section of the coast contained the trading towns of Leptis Magna and Sabratha. Since 1963 Tripoli has been the capital of the Great Socialist Libyan-Arab People’s Republic. The old town contains a souk that was almost fully abandoned following the Great Revolution as private trading was then forbidden but when the law was abolished in 1988 it once again sprang to life. Modern Tripoli is undergoing constant development. Contemporary architecture is everywhere with skyscrapers that contain offices and apartments that have been built on the periphery of the city. Around seventy kilometres west of Tripoli and also located on the Mediterranean coast are the remains of the ancient trading town of Sabratha. Its Theatre has been rebuilt and is still an impressive structure that dates back to the second century A.D. Tripoli, along with the historic towns of the former Tripolitania, is one of the most spectacular places of ancient culture in North Africa and the heritage of an advanced civilisation located on the edge of the Sahara.

==================

Hammams
========

Gran Canaria Travel Video Guide • Great Destinations
Gran Canaria is probably the most colorful member of Canary Islands. For the holidaymakers it is worthy to visit the extremely long and beautiful beach of Playa del Inglés. Those who want to take pictures should visit the old district of the capital and wander among its colonial-style buildings with wooden balconies. The tourists are welcome to visit Canary Village and the house of Columbus. For those looking for romantic scenery we suggest the picturesque port of Mogan. The lovers of botany cannot leave out the Palmitos park. Those longing for entertainment can have a quick glimpse at the nightlife of Las Palmas, while during the day they can splash in one of the water parks or spend a pleasant day in the Wild-West village of Sioux City. The hiking fans can feel themselves at home here: they can make a trip into the almost 2000 meters high rocky empire of Pico de las Nieves with its palm trees, flourishing bushes and cactuses, while at Maspalomas they can enjoy real Sahara sand dunes.

Tunisia Travel Video Guide
Travel video about destination Tunisia.
Tunis is a North African city with a long history. After the Hasfides and Osmans, the Spanish Moors came but then had to give way to French colonial rule until present day Independence. In the old town, there are more than 700 historic monuments which include 200 palaces, a colourful variety of buildings and numerous mosques.Among shoreline lava rock is the entrance to the Ghar El-Kebir, a collection of sandstone grottos. During Roman times, thousands of slaves were forced to bring building material for Carthage and El Djem from subterranean shafts. In Sousse, the simple fort of Ribat is probably the oldest Islamic building in North Africa, in which Muslim soldiers lived in monastery-like isolation and in the town’s Archaeological Museum there is a fantastic range of mosaics, predominantly from Punic and Roman excavations. Gabes is an oasis town which overflows with luxuriant floral splendour. By horse and carriage visitors can travel through one of the most beautiful maritime oases in Tunisia where, under 500,000 date palms, tobacco, henna, pumpkins, apricots and bananas thrive. The focal point of important caravan routes and trading centre for goods from Libya and Black Africa, Medenine is a very charming and lively city. Its reinforced honeycomb-shaped caves were the extraordinary-looking buildings that many will recall from the film ‘Star Wars’. The Sahara is the largest desert on earth, with different landscapes such as rock deserts, salt deserts and serene oases. Kebili is located on the edge of a huge salt lake and is a typical desert village with a green oasis and Artesian springs which provide water for its fruit and vegetable gardens. Nefta is also a green paradise in the desert, an oasis town that boasts no less than 152 Artesian wells. Dougga contains Tunisia’s most important ruins which nestle in the hills among shimmering olive trees and poppy fields. Endless deserts and fertile oases, busy towns and isolated mountain regions, Roman temples and Muslim mosques: Tunisia is tempting!

20150925 HR 190's Downhill 3½ min on Sahara in Las Vegas
No Engine, no electrical assist.
And no performance enhancing drugs.
I owe my health much to the water I have been drinking since 1999 which is filtered using NASA technology to leave in beneficial minerals, such as calcium and magnesium, and to remove contaminants, e.g. organic, industrial, and agricultural pollutants including lead, chlorine, chloroforms, herbicides, pesticides, fluoride, heavy metals, asbestos, bacteria, cysts, volatile organic compounds, arsenic, and a whole load of other contaminants I don't want in my drinking water.
I use ...
... a .2 micron ceramic filter to get rid of asbestos, bacteria, and cysts;
... an Aquaspace Cartridge to remove lead, chlorine, chloroforms, herbicides, pesticides, volatile organic compounds, and arsenic, but leave in beneficial minerals such as calcium and magnesium that are necessary for good health;
... and a Fluoride and Heavy Metal Reduction Cartridge to remove fluoride and heavy metals.
It is the best tasting, healthiest, cleanest water available. No other water filtration products come close.
Beneficial minerals are retained and no water is wasted down the drain unlike Reverse Osmosis.

When the Germans attack, Gunn leads his desert-weary men in a desperate battle, hoping that British reinforcements can arrive in time.

[Doku] Magische Welten: Sahara - Aufbruch ins Ungewisse (HD)
Das will Dr. Stefan Kröpelin ändern.

«Bahr Belá Má», «Waterless Sea», as the Sahara is called by the Bedouins. But deep beneath the dune fields and stone deserts expands an immeasurable reservoir of water resources. Using enormous technical resources, the Libyans have begun to extract fossil reserves of groundwater. Following oil, water is now arousing a new wave of euphoria. In the present desert climate, reserves are only being partally replaced and what has collected over a period of millions of years may be used up in only a few decades.
Presenting the best documentaries about nature and wildlife.

Sahara with Michael Palin Season 1 Episode 1 A Line in the Sand
In this four part BBC television series presented by British comedian and travel presenter Michael Palin, and broadcast in 2002. In it, Palin traveled around the Sahara Desert in Northern and Western Africa in four episodes: 1° Line in the Sand - from Gibraltar (British crown colony enclaved in Spain) to amazingly varied Morocco, Western Sahara (disputed by morocco and the Polisaro liberation movement) and Mauritania (another ultra-poor Sahel country, yet plagued by extreme obesity, even as a result of forced feeding of women as a status symbol); 2° Destination Timbuktu - Senegal and Mali; 3° Absolute Desert - Mali and Niger; 4° Dire Straits - Algeria, Libya, Tunisia, Ceuta (a Spanish enclave in Morocco where refugees hope to enter Europe) and back to Gibraltar.
