Dinner is usually the name of the main meal of the day. Depending upon culture, dinner may be the second, third or fourth meal of the day. Originally, though, it referred to the first meal of the day, eaten around noon, and is still occasionally used for a noontime meal, if it is a large or main meal.
Originally, dinner referred to the first meal of a two-meal day, a heavy meal occurring about noon, which broke the night's fast in the new day. The word is from the Old French (ca 1300) disner, meaning "breakfast", from the stem of Gallo-Romance desjunare ("to break one's fast"), from Latin dis- ("undo") + Late Latin ieiunare ("to fast"), from Latin ieiunus ("fasting, hungry"). The Spanish word "desayuno", the Romanian "dejun", and the French "déjeuner" retain this etymology. Eventually, the term shifted to referring to the heavy main meal of the day, even if it had been preceded by a breakfast meal. The (lighter) meal following dinner has traditionally been referred to as supper or tea.
In some usages, the term dinner has continued to refer to the largest meal of the day, even when this meal is eaten at the end of the day and is preceded by two other meals. In this terminology, the preceding meals are usually referred to as breakfast and lunch. In some areas, this leads to a variable name for meals depending on the combination of their size and the time of day, while in others meal names are fixed based on the time they are consumed. However, even in systems in which dinner is the meal usually eaten at the end of the day, an individual dinner may still refer to a main or more sophisticated meal at any time in the day, such as a banquet, feast, or a special meal eaten on a Sunday. In parts of the rural American South and northern England, the word "dinner" traditionally has been used for the midday meal even if it was a light snack taken to school or work (and not for supper).

Say girl, why's the house a mess?
say baby, did you do the dishes?
say honey, where's my dinner?
do you even know where kitchen is?
but don't get me wrong, because i love you
i know it might not show by the things that i do
but don't you worry because i'll come home tonight
but don't wait up, and don't leave on the lights
i love you
but my clothes are getting dirty
did you make our bed?
i know you worked hard on dinner
i'll get a hamburger instead
but still i hear what you say
at the grocery store around the way
you tell everybody that i treate you good
and your lieing, but i wish that i could
turn off the sun
i want to shine
i'll recreate the world
with my own design
say girl, why's the house a mess?
say baby, did you do the dishes?
say honey, where's my dinner?
do you even know where kitchen is?
but don't get me wrong, because i love you
i know it might not show by the things that i do
but don't you worry cause i'll come home tonight
but don't wait up, and don't leave on the lights
now maybe we should try this again
you know i'll make sure it's my way in the end
i try to be everything for you
your best friend, and someone to turn too.
say girl, where's my dinner?
say girl,
turn off the sun
Always on your own, don't consider trying
Tried you on the phone, but you considered lying
Never had a doubt I'm losing
So I'm tidying my room, trying to be careful
Drinking in the afternoon and lighting up whilst tearful
Hoping that you're still unhappy
I'll do everything I can to make sure that you are never happy
Breaking out of this cocoon and clawing at the camera
Seeing you would be too soon, I'm stupid if I want more
Hoping that you die unhappy
I'll do anything I can
To make sure that you are never happy
So unsure of every question in the dark
Trying hard not to make of with anything you gave me
I'm so scared and down on friends so please pretend there is no end
Trying not to be a victim in your game, I know your dirty ways
I know you feel the same
It kills me deep inside
I hope you cry when you see what you have inside.
Never had a doubt I'm losing
