According to hadith collections, in 631 an Arab Christian envoy from Najran (currently in northern Yemen and partly in Saudi Arabia) came to Muhammad to argue which of the two parties erred in its doctrine concerning Jesus. After likening Jesus' miraculous birth to Adam's creation, Muhammad called them to mubahala (cursing), where each party should ask God to destroy the lying party and their families. Muhammad, to prove to them that he is a prophet, brought his daughter Fatimah and his surviving grandchildren Hasan ibn Ali and Husayn ibn Ali, and Ali ibn Abi Talib and came back to the Christians but when one of the Christian monks saw their faces, he advised his companions to withdraw from Mubahala for the sake of their lives and families. Thus the Christian monks vanished from the Mubahala place.

Mubahala bedeutet "Flehen" zu Allah und bezieht sich auf folgenden Vers aus dem Heiligen Qur'an:
Und wenn sich jemand mit dir über sie (die Wahrheit) streitet, nachdem das Wissen zu dir (oh Muhammad) kam, so sprich: 'Kommt her, lasst uns rufen unsere Söhne und eure Söhne unsere Frauen und eure Frauen und unsere Seelen und eure Seelen. Als dann wollen wir zu Allah flehen und mit Allahs Fluch die Lügner bestrafen' (Heiliger Qur'an 3:61).
Damals stritten die Christen von Nadschran mit dem Propheten (s.) über die Wahrheit. Es heißt, dass sie unter Führung von Abdul Masih (Diener des Messias) zu Prophet Muhammad (s.) gekommen waren und es einen Disput darüber gab, ob Jesus (a.) der Sohn Gottes sei, was von Prophet Muhammad (s.) abgelehnt wurde.
Als der Prophet Muhammad (s.) sie dann zur Mubahala (dem gegenseitigen Flehen und Beten zu ALLAH, wer recht hat, mit anschließender Verwünschung des Lügners) einlud, kamen sie mit 70 Personen, denn sie nahmen an, dass der Prophet Muhammad (s.) mit vielen seiner Gefährten und Scharen von Muslimen aufmarschieren würde. Ihre Hoffnung war dann als kleinere Gruppe zumindest moralischer Sieger zu werden.
Er kam aber ganz anders: Prophet Muhammad (s.) kam nur mit Ali, Fatima, Hassan und Hussain (Friede sei mit ihnen allen). Als der Bischof der Christen diese großartigen Menschen sah, rief er seine Gemeinde dazu auf, von der Mubahala Abstand zu nehmen, da er wusste, dass diese gesegneten Menschen recht hatten und somit der Fluch Allahs über sie kommen würde, und so verzichteten sie darauf, und es kam nicht zur Verwünschung. In manchen Quellen heißt es, dass Abdul Masih darauf verwies, dass falls jene fünf Menschen darum beten würde, dass ein Berg sich versetzen möge, dieser es tun würde.
Das Besondere an der Mubahala besteht darin, dass jede am Disput beteiligte Partei für sich selbst die Verfluchung erfleht, sollte sie im Unrecht sein. Somit wird ein irdisch nicht lösbarer Konflikt auf das Jenseits und Gottesurteil (Ordal) verlagert, weshalb der Begriff auch als Selbstverfluchungsordal bezeichnet wird. Da die deutsche Übersetzung aber den Begriff nicht hinreichend wiedergibt, wird der oft der eingedeutschte Begriff verwendet.
Gemäß der Interpretation der Dschafariten tritt Prophet Muhammad (s.) hier mit seiner Ahl-ul-Bait auf. Der Vers sollte dementsprechend zeigen: Imam Hasan (a.) und Imam Husain (a.) sind die Söhne des Islam, Fatima (a.) die Frau, die den Islam repräsentiert, und Prophet Muhammad (s.) selbst und Imam Ali (a.) sind seine Seelen [nafs]. Dieses Ereignis ereignete sich am 24. Dhul-Hidscha, 10 Jahre nach der Auswanderung und wird am Tage der Mubahala gedacht.
An dem Ort auf der arabischen Halbinsel, an dem die Mubahala stattfand, baute die Saudische Regierung 1997 eine Moschee mit dem Namen "Masdschid Banu Muawiya".
Allama Hilli listet den Vers unter den Versen auf, die auf Imam Ali (a.) hinweisen.

This Mubahala challenge is stated in Quran 3:59-61 regarding the honorific titles of Jesus Christ. So Muhammad died about 78 days of the proposed challenge. Even though the Najran Christian Bishop withdrew the challenge, the initiator was still subject to one year waiting period since Quran 3:59 is open for challenge and not automatically accepted as the truth.
All Muslims who believe that Esa, son of Mary as stated in Quran 3:59 is the same person as Jesus Messiah, the Prophet of YHWH God of Israel and the God of the Christians, are hereby invited to invoke your Allah of Mohammed to curse the original declarant of these statements as follows:
1. That between 610 A.D. and 632 A.D. Mohammed made a false statement that Jesus Messiah was created by Allah. But Jesus Messiah said in John 6:38 "I descended from Heaven not to do mine own will, but the will of Him who sent me." which implies that He descended from Heaven rather than He was created by Allah.
2. Jesus Messiah was incarnated into the Bloodline of King David the Hebrew to serve YHWH God of Abraham, God of Isaac and God of Israel who is different from Allah of Mohammed who plagiarized the word Allah from the Arab Christians based on Quran 9:30.
3. That Mohammed and Muslims had fabricated blatant lies against Abraham and Ishmael forefathers of the Hebrews and Jews, that they went to the first Sanctuary appointed for mankind at Becca which Muslims claim to be Makkah or Mecca in Saudi Arabia based on Quran 3:96-97.
4. That Mohammed and Muslims had either unintentionally or intentionally committed libel against Abraham and Ishmael as the original builder of the House of Worship currently called Kaaba in Mecca as they laid the foundations of the House based on Quran 2:127 thereby insinuating that they were idolaters like the Arabs.
5. That Muslims have lied either knowing or unknowingly that Quran 34:44, 32:3, 36:6 and 11:49 do not exonerate Abraham and Ishmael as the forefathers of the Arabs and of Mohammed's tribe.

Quran 32:3. "That thou may warn a Folk to whom no warner came before thee.
Quran 36:6. "That thou may warn a Folk whose fathers were not warned, so they are heedless.

Mubahala literally meaning 'mutual prayer' (Arabic: مباهلة Cursing) or Li’an (Arabic: لعان) but in Islamic tradition it refers to a form of resolving religious disputes. When the argumentations from both sides fail to resolve a religious issue, the parties jointly pray Allah to cast His curse on whichever of the two parties is false. Since curse means 'moving someone far away from the divine mercy' and moving far away from mercy is being close to divine wrath—therefore, the essence of the meaning is: Wrath be on the liar. As such, whoever is the liar shall face the evil consequences whereupon the truth will become evident before the disbelievers as well. Many times Mubahala is a kind of ordeal which instigation or call to the ordeal may be more important than execution of it.
The event is referred to in the Qur'an and Tafsirs of 3:61, where the prophet was ordered to invite the disputants regarding the nature of Jesus to imprecation:
Surely, the case of Jesus, in the sight of Allah is like the case of Adam. He created him from dust, then said to him, "Be", and he came to be.(59) The truth is from your Lord. So, do not be of those who doubt.(60)
So if someone argues with you in this after what has come to you of the knowledge, say, "Come, let us call our sons and your sons, our women and your women, ourselves and yourselves, then pray and invoke the curse of Allah upon the liars."(61)
This is, indeed, the true narration. And there exists no god but Allah. And Allah is surely the All-Mighty, the All-Wise.(62)
So, should they turn back, Allah is all-aware of the mischievous.(63)

Mubahala bedeutet "Flehen" zu Allah und bezieht sich auf folgenden Vers aus dem Heiligen Qur'an: Und wenn sich jemand mit dir über sie (die Wahrheit) streitet, nachdem das Wissen zu dir (oh Muhammad) kam, so sprich: 'Kommt her, lasst uns rufen unsere Söhne und eure Söhne unsere Frauen und eure Frauen und unsere Seelen und eure Seelen. Als dann wollen wir zu Allah flehen und mit Allahs Fluch die Lügner bestrafen' (Heiliger Qur'an 3:61). Damals stritten die Christen von Nadschran mit dem Propheten (s.) über die Wahrheit. Es heißt, dass sie unter Führung von Abdul Masih (Diener des Messias) zu Prophet Muhammad (s.) gekommen waren und es einen Disput darüber gab, ob Jesus (a.) der Sohn Gottes sei, was von Prophet Muhammad (s.) abgelehnt wurde. Als der Prophet Muhammad (s.) sie dann zur Mubahala (dem gegenseitigen Flehen und Beten zu ALLAH, wer recht hat, mit anschließender Verwünschung des Lügners) einlud, kamen sie mit 70 Personen, denn sie nahmen an, dass der Prophet Muhammad (s.) mit vielen seiner Gefährten und Scharen von Muslimen aufmarschieren würde. Ihre Hoffnung war dann als kleinere Gruppe zumindest moralischer Sieger zu werden. Er kam aber ganz anders: Prophet Muhammad (s.) kam nur mit Ali, Fatima, Hassan und Hussain (Friede sei mit ihnen allen). Als der Bischof der Christen diese großartigen Menschen sah, rief er seine Gemeinde dazu auf, von der Mubahala Abstand zu nehmen, da er wusste, dass diese gesegneten Menschen recht hatten und somit der Fluch Allahs über sie kommen würde, und so verzichteten sie darauf, und es kam nicht zur Verwünschung. In manchen Quellen heißt es, dass Abdul Masih darauf verwies, dass falls jene fünf Menschen darum beten würde, dass ein Berg sich versetzen möge, dieser es tun würde. Das Besondere an der Mubahala besteht darin, dass jede am Disput beteiligte Partei für sich selbst die Verfluchung erfleht, sollte sie im Unrecht sein. Somit wird ein irdisch nicht lösbarer Konflikt auf das Jenseits und Gottesurteil (Ordal) verlagert, weshalb der Begriff auch als Selbstverfluchungsordal bezeichnet wird. Da die deutsche Übersetzung aber den Begriff nicht hinreichend wiedergibt, wird der oft der eingedeutschte Begriff verwendet. Gemäß der Interpretation der Dschafariten tritt Prophet Muhammad (s.) hier mit seiner Ahl-ul-Bait auf. Der Vers sollte dementsprechend zeigen: Imam Hasan (a.) und Imam Husain (a.) sind die Söhne des Islam, Fatima (a.) die Frau, die den Islam repräsentiert, und Prophet Muhammad (s.) selbst und Imam Ali (a.) sind seine Seelen [nafs]. Dieses Ereignis ereignete sich am 24. Dhul-Hidscha, 10 Jahre nach der Auswanderung und wird am Tage der Mubahala gedacht. An dem Ort auf der arabischen Halbinsel, an dem die Mubahala stattfand, baute die Saudische Regierung 1997 eine Moschee mit dem Namen "Masdschid Banu Muawiya". According to hadith collections, in 631 an Arab Christian envoy from Najran (currently in northern Yemen and partly in Saudi Arabia) came to Muhammad to argue which of the two parties erred in its doctrine concerning Jesus. After likening Jesus' miraculous birth to Adam's creation, Muhammad called them to mubahala (cursing), where each party should ask God to destroy the lying party and their families. Muhammad, to prove to them that he is a prophet, brought his daughter Fatimah and his surviving grandchildren Hasan ibn Ali and Husayn ibn Ali, and Ali ibn Abi Talib and came back to the Christians but when one of the Christian monks saw their faces, he advised his companions to withdraw from Mubahala for the sake of their lives and families. An Argument from the Quran for the Trinity (Mubahala)
Here is an argument from the Quran for Trinitarian monotheism. In the third chapter of the Quran, Muhammad proposed a mutual cursing with Christians from Narjan (modern day Yemen) to settle differences about Jesus. It was around this time that Muhammad's son died. After the proposed mubahala, Muhammad died. His beloved daughter, Fatima, died shortly after. It appears that even though the Christians did not invoke a curse, God still brought curse and death upon Muhammad. I don’t read Quran 3 and say, “Look at how greatly Muhammad and his household were blessed around the time of his proposed mubahala.” It’s just the opposite. Quran 3 verses 59-62 are strong evidence that Muhammad was standing on the wrong side of Christology. -

I haven't heard the sentence which proves the Prophet's (sawa) own self is Imam Ali (as): ...وَأَنفُسَنَا وأَنفُسَكُمْ... Is that your islam? To just crop out a piece of the Holy Quran, the words of Allah (swt), only because you hate Imam Ali (as)?? Disgusting people. Whether you like it or not, you're praying 5 times daily towards the House of Allah, which is also the birth place of Imam ali (as)!😉

Als dann wollen wir zu Allah flehen und mit Allahs Fluch die Lügner bestrafen' (Heiliger Qur'an 3:61).
Damals stritten die Christen von Nadschran mit dem Propheten (s.) über die Wahrheit. Es heißt, dass sie unter Führung von Abdul Masih (Diener des Messias) zu Prophet Muhammad (s.) gekommen waren und es einen Disput darüber gab, ob Jesus (a.) der Sohn Gottes sei, was von Prophet Muhammad (s.) abgelehnt wurde.
Als der Prophet Muhammad (s.) sie dann zur Mubahala (dem gegenseitigen Flehen und Beten zu ALLAH, wer recht hat, mit anschließender Verwünschung des Lügners) einlud, kamen sie mit 70 Personen, denn sie nahmen an, dass der Prophet Muhammad (s.) mit vielen seiner Gefährten und Scharen von Muslimen aufmarschieren würde. Ihre Hoffnung war dann als kleinere Gruppe zumindest moralischer Sieger zu werden.
Er kam aber ganz anders: Prophet Muhammad (s.) kam nur mit Ali, Fatima, Hassan und Hussain (Friede sei mit ihnen allen). Als der Bischof der Christen diese großartigen Menschen sah, rief er seine Gemeinde dazu auf, von der Mubahala Abstand zu nehmen, da er wusste, dass diese gesegneten Menschen recht hatten und somit der Fluch Allahs über sie kommen würde, und so verzichteten sie darauf, und es kam nicht zur Verwünschung. In manchen Quellen heißt es, dass Abdul Masih darauf verwies, dass falls jene fünf Menschen darum beten würde, dass ein Berg sich versetzen möge, dieser es tun würde.
Das Besondere an der Mubahala besteht darin, dass jede am Disput beteiligte Partei für sich selbst die Verfluchung erfleht, sollte sie im Unrecht sein. Somit wird ein irdisch nicht lösbarer Konflikt auf das Jenseits und Gottesurteil (Ordal) verlagert, weshalb der Begriff auch als Selbstverfluchungsordal bezeichnet wird. Here is an argument from the Quran for Trinitarian monotheism.
In the third chapter of the Quran, Muhammad proposed a mutual cursing with Christians from Narjan (modern day Yemen) to settle differences about Jesus.
It was around this time that Muhammad's son died. After the proposed mubahala, Muhammad died. His beloved daughter, Fatima, died shortly after.
It appears that even though the Christians did not invoke a curse, God still brought curse and death upon Muhammad. I don’t read Quran 3 and say, “Look at how greatly Muhammad and his household were blessed around the time of his proposed mubahala.” It’s just the opposite. Quran 3 verses 59-62 are strong evidence that Muhammad was standing on the wrong side of Christology.

This wahhabi so called sheykh claims to know al-Mubahala, but I think he missed out on something. I haven't heard the sentence which proves the Prophet's (sawa) own self is Imam Ali (as):
...وَأَنفُسَنَا وأَنفُسَكُمْ...
Is that your islam? To just crop out a piece of the Holy Quran, the words of Allah (swt), only because you hate Imam Ali (as)?? Disgusting people. Whether you like it or not, you're praying 5 times daily towards the House of Allah, which is also the birth place of Imam ali (as)!😉
