Tower marks the site of old College Hall. The Red Cedar River is at the
heart of campus. The Alice B Cowles House is the official home of the
university president and is the oldest existing building on campus. As
part of its sesquicentennial celebration, MSU erected this bronze
statue of John A. Hannah, sculpted by California artist Bruce Wolfe.
The National Superconducting Cyclotron Laboratory features one of the
most powerful instruments of its type in the world. Morrill Hall is
amongst the oldest structures still standing on campus. The Wharton
Center for Performing Arts hosts many productions throughout the year
and was host to the final US Presidential Debate before the 1992
election. The MSU Library is located on the oldest part of campus
between Beaumont Tower and the river. The Computer Center once housed
the early computer MISTIC. The Veterinary Research Farm. The South
Campus skyline. Snyder-Phillips Hall was built in 1947. The building is
currently being expanded to make room for a new residential college.
The MSU Law School Building. Spartan Stadium hosts varsity football
games and other events. The Jack Breslin Student Events Center is home
to the men and women's basketball teams. Munn Ice Arena was named for
former football coach Clarence L. "Biggie" Munn. Hubbard Hall is a
twelve-story residence hall on the eastern edge of campus. It is MSU's
second tallest building, surpassed by Spartan Stadium. The MSU Union is
home to many events on campus. A 2005 bronze replica of "The Spartan"
replaces Leonard D. Jungwirth's modernist original. MSU's campus is
heavily forested. This trail runs behind several residence halls,
including Owen Hall, McDonel Hall, and Holmes Hall. Eustace-Cole Hall
was the United States' first freestanding horticulture laboratory. It
is the only MSU building on the National Register of Historic Places.

The Varsity
The Varsity is a restaurant chain, iconic in the modern culture of Atlanta, Georgia. The main branch of the chain is the largest drive-in fast food restaurant in the world. There are now six other branches across metro Atlanta, and another near the University of Georgia in Athens.
History
Originally named "The Yellow Jacket," The Varsity was established in 1928 at the corner of Luckie Street and Hemphill Avenue in Midtown Atlanta. Its founder, Frank Gordy of Thomaston, Georgia, a Reinhardt University graduate, briefly attended The Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech) but dropped out in 1925. Then, as now, the restaurant catered heavily to Georgia Tech students. As the business grew, Gordy was forced to move the restaurant to 61 North Avenue (on the northwest corner of Spring Street). To accommodate the crowds, the present structure now covers two city blocks. It was here that the name was changed to "The Varsity," reflecting his desire to expand to other college campuses. During the drive-in era, The Varsity began its curbside service, which continues to this day.

the early computer MISTIC. The Veterinary Research Farm. The South
Campus skyline. Snyder-Phillips Hall was built in 1947. The building is
currently being expanded to make room for a new residential college.
The MSU Law School Building. Spartan Stadium hosts varsity football
games and other events. The Jack Breslin Student Events Center is home
to the men and women's basketball teams. Munn Ice Arena was named for
former football coach Clarence L. "Biggie" Munn. Hubbard Hall is a
twelve-story residence hall on the eastern edge of campus. It is MSU's
second tallest building, surpassed by Spartan Stadium. The MSU Union is
home to many events on campus. A 2005 bronze replica of "The Spartan"
replaces Leonard D. Jungwirth's modernist original. MSU's campus is
heavily forested. This trail runs behind several residence halls,
including Owen Hall, McDonel Hall, and Holmes Hall. Eustace-Cole Hall
was the United States' first freestanding horticulture laboratory. It
is the only MSU building on the National Register of Historic Places.
